  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze how teachers' recognition of professionalism and the child's gender and term care affect child's social interaction behavior. Participants were three-year-old 61 children and their 20 teachers. Each child was observed by the time sampling method of 20 sec-observation followed by 10 sec-recording for a total of 14 minutes. The teachers completed the rating scales to measure the teachers' recognition of professionalism. The study results show that, children engaged more frequently in individual behavior than in interactions with peers or with teachers in day care centers. And those children had more interaction behavior with their teachers than with their peers. Correlation between teachers' recognition of professionalism and children's social interaction behavior were as following: the more the teachers recognized professionalism, the more the children showed positive interaction behavior toward their teachers. Also, the more the teachers recognized the professionalism related to the job satisfaction, the more the children showed positive interaction behavior toward their peers. Boys interacted more negatively with peers and teachers than girls did. Children who attended the day care center more than two years showed less individual behaviors than others.

  • Social networking services provide individuals with an easy approach for exchanging messages with others based on interpersonal relationships. However, why individuals spread marketer-generated content (MGC) in their online social circles remains unclear. Therefore, we develop a theoretical model to examine how social capital, intrinsic motivations, personal perceptions, past behavior, and personal traits influence MGC sharing behavior of social media users in micro-blogging context. Data collected from 319 social networking users support the proposed model. The results from partial least squares analyses show that enjoyment, perceived control, and outcome expectations are significant indicators of individual's MGC sharing intention in the social broadcasting environment. Results also suggest that social capital, users' intention, and past behavior positively influence the MGC sharing behavior of users. Moreover, individual prevention pride exhibits a significant interaction effect on the relationships between users' MGC sharing and its antecedents. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

  • This article reports the developmental stability of individual differences in children's attachment qualities with their mothers and the relations between the preschoolers' attachment security to mothers and maternal parenting behavior. 24 infants were observed with mothers in the Strange Situation to assess the infant-mother attachment patterns at 16 months of age. After 3 years, attachment security was assessed using Attachment Q-Set, and the modified IPBI (Iowa Parent Behavior Inventory: Mother Form) was administered to mothers to assess their parenting behavior. Analyses revealed significant differences in children's attachment security scores by infancy attachment patterns. That is 11 of 12 children's attachment to mothers qualities were stable across the 3 year periods. The attachment security scores related positively to the responsive maternal parenting behavior. Changes in child-mother attachment quality over time were related to maternal responsiveness. Collectively, these findings were consistent with predictions from attachment theory.

  • In line with network technology development and smart device penetration, the social network service (SNS) has expanded its influence. The SNS which is a service based on communication and sharing among people, has grown based on users' voluntary engagement and participation and its influence has appeared beyond the cyberspace into the overall areas of domestic and foreign culture and society. In particular, SNS-based real-time communication during diverse disasters, can help prevent further damage. By sharing information on social donation activities and environmental campaigns, people have used SNS as a tool to change the society in a more positive way. Such series of activities functioning as a power to change the society have been made much faster and wider through the help of a new media called SNS. To better understand such trends, we are required to study about the SNS and its user relationships first. In this context, this study sought to identify the effects of people's desire to build friendships through SNS on the voluntary and society-friendly activities of people. This study considers online pro-social behavior and proposes online citizenship behavior. Citizenship behavior has been examined in organization context. That is, organizational citizenship behavior explains an employee's pro-social behavior in an organization context. Organizational citizenship behavior is characterized by the individual's helping others and promoting the functioning of the organization. By applying organizational citizenship behavior to an online context, we propose online citizenship behavior, an individual's pro-social behavior in an online context. An individual's pro-social behavior, i.e., online citizenship behavior, could be considered as a way for the better management of online community and society. It also needs to examine the development of online citizenship behavior. This study examined online citizenship behavior from the friendship desire. Because online society or community is characterized by online relationships between members, the friendship between members would lead to pro-social behavior, i.e., helping others and promoting the functioning of the online society, in such online context. This study further examines the antecedents of friendship desire in terms of SNS interactivity with its four factors. The findings based on the survey from real SNS users explain that the three factors of SNS interactivity (connectivity, enjoyment, and synchronicity) increases online friendship desire which then increases online citizenship behavior significantly. This study contributes to the literature by examining the key role of online friendship desire in leading to online citizenship behavior and identifying its antecedents in terms of SNS characteristics. The findings in this study also provide guidance on how to manage online society and how to promote the effective functioning of SNS.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study is to examine the factors that influence Korean adolescents' depression and suicidal ideation from individual, social and environmental perspectives by gender. The study used the date of the 2015 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey and the subjects were 68,043 middle and high school students. The levels of depression and suicidal ideation were the dependent variables and the factors influencing the dependent variables included 11 individual factors, 3 social factors and 7 environmental factors. The data were analyzed using odds ratios (OR) from multi-variable logistic regression analysis. As a result, the most significant individual factors that influenced both depression and suicidal ideation were stress and subjective happiness both in boy and girls, the most significant social factor was participation in violence treatment programs, and the most significant environmental factors were economic status, father's educational level, and whether or not they lived with their family. Therefore, programs and policies to improve adolescents' mental health should be developed considering individual, social, and environmental factors.

  • In this study, we introduce the main ideas on the control and strategy used by the robot soccer team of the Universidad de Buenos hires, UBA-Sot. The basis of our approach is to obtain a cooperative behavior, which emerges from homogeneous sets of individual behaviors. Except for the goalkeeper, the behavior set of each robot contains a small number of individual behaviors. Basically, the individual behaviors have the same core: to move from the initial to-ward the target coordinates. However, these individual behaviors differ because each one has a different precondition associated with it. Each precondition is the combination of a number of elementary ones. The aim of our approach is to answer the following questions: How can the robot compute the preconditions in time\ulcorner How are the control actions defined, which allow the robot to move from the initial toward the final coordinates\ulcorner The way we cope with these issues is, on the one hand, to use ball and robot predictors and, on the other hand, to use very fast planning. Our proposal is to use planning in such a way that the behavior obtained is closer to a reactive than a deliberative one. Simulations and experiments on real robots, based on this approach, have so far given encouraging results.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide the design guidelines for the activity spaces in the skilled nursing facilities for the elderly through the investigation of the spatial characteristics and using behavior The researcher interviewed the staff regarding programs in 15 facilities, investigated and observed the use of the spaces from 15th of December, 2004 to 19th of February, 2005. The programs in facilities were categorized into human knowledge, arts, music, exercise, recreation, cooking gardening, religious and social activities, and those were peformed once to 4 times a day. They were conducted in the elderly individual rooms, lounges, program rooms, dining room, or(and) auditorium. The results of the study were as follows: First, investigating the activity spaces, the lounges and elderly individual rooms were mostly on the same floor so that the elderly had no big trouble in access to the lounge. The program rooms of the facilities in suburban and rural area were on the same floor as the elderly individual rooms and they were likely to combine with another usage, compared to those On city were mostly separated from the residence floor. Most of dining rooms and auditorium were on the basement or on the 1st floor. Second, in the programs by the activity spaces, elderly individual room and the program room were used more for the human knowledge and art programs with small group. The lounges were for recreation and social activities with (both of) small or(and) big group and dining rooms were mainly used for cooking programs. In auditorium, recreation, religious and social activity were performed with big group. Third, the individual rooms for the elderly had more capacity if those did not have any beds, but often had a trouble in making a passage way. The lounges needed to remove decorations and displayed furniture obstructing the passages and to arrange both of the western and eastern type of tables for the efficient use of the spaces. It took a long time in preparation of the furniture and other equipment if the program room was with another usage.
