Purpose: There is little controversy that a classic indication such as hemodynamic instability or any sign of peritoneal irritation requires an immediate laparotomy in the management of abdominal stab wounds. However, omental herniation or bowel evisceration as an indication for an immediate laparotomy is controversial. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the significance of these factors as indications for an immediate laparotomy. Methods: The medical records of 98 consecutive abdominal stab wounds patients admitted to the Emergency Center of Masan Samsung Hospital from January 2000 to December 2006 were carefully examined retrospectively. Using multivariate logistic regression analysis, thirty-nine factors, including the classic indication and intraabdominal organ evisceration, were evaluated and were found to be associated with a need for a laparotomy. Also, the classic indication was compared with a new indication consisting of components of the classic indication and intra-abdominal organ evisceration by constructing a contingency table according to the need for a laparotomy. Results: Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed any sign of peritoneal irritation, base deficit, and age to be significant factors associated with the need for a laparotomy (p<0.05). The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy rates of the classic indication were 98.6%, 72.0%, and 91.8%, respectively, and those of the new indication were 93.2%, 84.0%, and 90.8%, respectively. The differences in those rates between the above two indications were not significant. Conclusion: Intra-abdominal organ evisceration was not a significant factor for an immediate laparotomy. Moreover, the new indication including intra-abdominal organ evisceration was not superior to the classic indication. Therefore, in the management of abdominal stab wounds, the authors suggest that an immediate laparotomy should be performed on patients with hemodynamic instability or with any sign of peritoneal irritation.

Housing Performance Grade Indication System is one of the advanced system which operate globally in three countries. Housing Performance Grade Indication System of the Japan and Korea has points of similarity and distinction according to special situations of own condition and government. The purpose of a study is how characteristics have points of view about background, composition and an outline of the system, indication standard and method, the situation of issue, making progress direction and what is the clear differences. Also, it is to obtain hints for making progress direction of domestic Housing Performance Grade Indication System. The method of study is in parallel with literature survey, also collection through visiting to researcher, operation company, evaluation institution, housing company of the Japan. and to use data as a result of international workshop on November 2008. Because domestic research team is studying about making system and evaluation, revision, this study will make use this data.

Endoscopic resection is the established treatment for early gastric cancer in selected patients with negligible risk of lymph node metastasis ('absolute indication'). Based on clinical observations and large pathological databases, expanding indications for endoscopic resection beyond absolute indication has been tried in Japan and Korea. However, controversies exist regarding the safety of treating early gastric cancer beyond absolute indication in terms of pathological evaluation of the resected specimen, definition of expanded indication, discrepancy between pre-endoscopic resection and post-endoscopic resection diagnoses of gastric neoplasm, and the best strategy for cases with non-curative resection. In this brief review, current evidence and clinical experience regarding issues of endoscopic resection beyond absolute indication will be summarized.

The government has enforced Housing Performance Grade Indication System (Article 21, Paragraph 2 of Housing Act) starting January 2006 for the purpose of giving users in hope of toying an apartment opportunities to select housing based on personal preferences by providing information on housing performance at the time of tenant recruitment announcement as well as securing desirable environment (comfort) by encouraging construction companies to build housing of the indicated performance level. The acoustic performance indication items include three items such as floor impact isolation performance(light weight impact sound, heavy weight impact sound), bathroom noise and insulation performance of boundary walls between households. This paper explains the background, the basis of creation and evaluation method focused on the acoustic environment performance helping for the developer of technique and a staff in charge of construction business who cope with this system.

This research was to survey and analyze the recognition about combination indication subject of secondary school teacher's certificate in the vocation high school. The conclusion through this research results are as follows, First, The satisfaction of qualification training about combination indication subject was a general positive response(77.5%), but there was partly negative response(5.2%). Second, The efficiency of qualification training curriculum was positive response(62%), the high response(77.7%) was the fisheries affiliate. It was probably good because of simulation of ship sailing about practice curriculum. Third, The need of qualification training on combination indication subject for vocational high school teacher was positive response(81%), but negative response(3.4%)

Previous research on negative contents of verbal message being more influential has a two broad streams as impression formation theory and negative information having an more diagnostic informational value. Therefore, this research was intended to obtain consistent results from researches by message frame segmentation of verbal message and to determine the medium of verbal message. It was proven from the research that objects influencing verbal message are being effected by the participation ratio of products and the positive indication is having more meaningful difference than the negative indication statistically unlike to the results of previous researches. Unlike just a biased positive message or negative message as the result of previous research, it was proven that the positive indication is influential regardless of sequences according to participation ratio and site participation in case of positive and negative being existing together.

Various countries established Geographical Indication (GI) system to protect the right and traditionality of their native products. The regulations vary by country but can be divided accordingly: Protection by trademark systems such as in USA, Special Protection for Geographical Indication as in EU, Protection by both schemes as in China and Korea. Within the systems, countries provide diverse schemes such as PDO and PGI in EU depending on the scope of the product. However, GI system in Korea provides one definition which only protects products that express definite tie to its territory of origin, preliminary with the origin of the ingredient. It is necessary for the government and industry to seek ways to revitalize the local economy in the global market and increase the number of GI products by aligning GI systems with foreign countries and support mutual bilateral agreement.

The purpose of this research was made to suggest the improvement for problems of indication subject of Fisheries & Maritime High School teacher's certificate issued by the operation of the 7th national curriculum in 2000. After analyzing the integrated indication subjects related with fisheries & Maritime high school, among the middle school teacher's 24 subjects of industrial world, the problems and improvements can be arranged as followed. Firstly, the subjects of fisheries & Maritime high school teacher's certificates are fishing industry, aquiculture, sailing, engine and freezing and new subjects are ocean shipping and ocean logistics. Because the teacher's certificate was changed to integrated indication subjects, there were problems of teacher cultivation, teacher hiring, etc. So, in the actual field of school, teacher cultivating university and related department are necessary to strengthen high-quality majoring education/subjects and practical education as well as need to establish teacher cultivating system by teacher cultivating organization's evaluation system and teacher cultivating education program related by differentiation and easiness of majoring characterization. Secondly, teacher cultivating for new departments and new subjects can apply related major system, free major system, etc. Thirdly, if professional high schools find majoring areas whose content is same one another and introduce common indication subject system, it will be helpful to improve the quality of teachers, teacher certification examination, etc. of professional area.

Geographical indications are place names (in some countries also words associated with a place) used to identify the origin and quality, reputation or other characteristics of products. Protection required under the TRIPS Agreement is defined in two articles. The purpose of this study is to select the representative geographical indication item of Korea, discuss of the new intellectual property rights, and promote the trade of that product. It is also discussed of a geographical indication registration system and the recognition with international point of view. The international geographical indication protection is strengthening in recent. There are many multilateral and bilateral discussions and talks for geographical indication system. In order to protect excellent Korean products locally and internationally, the 'Quality Management of Agricultural Products Act' has been introduced form July 1, 1999. The geographical indication registration of Korea currently is 31 cases. The geographical indication is limited the regional promotion in Korea. Therefore, it is studied the registered items on the list and analyzed the result of the registration. Consequently, this paper suggests that more effective ways have to be prepared for the systematic management of geographical indications, campaigns for the recognition as a property.

Artificial intelligence technology sheds light on new ways of innovating acupuncture research. As acupoint selection is specific to target diseases, each acupoint is generally believed to have a specific indication. However, the specificity of acupoint selection may be not always same with the specificity of acupoint indication. In this review, we propose that the specificity of acupoint indication can be inferred from clinical data using reverse inference. Using forward inference, the prescribed acupoints for each disease can be quantified for the specificity of acupoint selection. Using reverse inference, targeted diseases for each acupoint can be quantified for the specificity of acupoint indication. It is noteworthy that the selection of an acupoint for a particular disease does not imply the acupoint has specific indications for that disease. Electronic medical record includes various symptoms and chosen acupoint combinations. Data mining approach can be useful to reveal the complex relationships between diseases and acupoints from clinical data. Combining the clinical information and the bodily sensation map, the spatial patterns of acupoint indication can be further estimated. Interoperable medical data should be collected for medical knowledge discovery and clinical decision support system. In the era of artificial intelligence, machine learning can reveal the associations between diseases and prescribed acupoints from large scale clinical data warehouse.
