Purpose: We aim to evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of an automatically converted radiation therapy plan between Radixact machines by comparing the original plan with the transferred plan. Methods: The study involved a total of 20 patients for each randomly selected treatment site who received radiation treatment with Radixact. We set up the cheese phantom (Gammex RMI, Middleton, WI, USA) with an Exradin A1SL ion chamber (Standard Imaging, Madison, WI, USA) and GAFCHROMIC EBT3 film (International Specialty Products, Wayne, NJ, USA) inserted. We used three methods to evaluate an automatically converted radiation therapy plan using the features of the Plan transfer. First, we evaluated and compared Planning target volume (PTV) coverage (homogeneity index, HI; conformity index, CI) and organs at risk (OAR) dose statistics. Second, we compared the absolute dose using an ion chamber. Lastly, we analyzed gamma passing rates using film. Results: Our results showed that the difference in PTV coverage was 1.72% in HI and 0.17% in CI, and majority of the difference in OAR was within 1% across all sites. The difference (%) in absolute dose values was averaging 0.74%. In addition, the gamma passing rate was 99.64% for 3%/3 mm and 97.08% for 2%/2 mm. Conclusions: The Plan transfer function can be reliably used in appropriate situations.
Using $SiCl_{2}H_{2}$, $NH_{3}$ and $N_{2}O$, we have fabricated silicon oxynitride ($Si_{x}O_{y}N_{z}$) layers on thermally oxidized silicon wafer by low pressure chemical vapor deposition. Three different compositions were achieved by controlling gas flow ratios($NH_{3}/N_{2}O$)) to 0.2, 0.5 and 2 with fixed gas flow of $SiCl_{2}H_{2}$. Ellipsometry and high frequency capacitance-voltage(HFCV) measurements were adapted to investigate the difference of the refractive index, dielectric constant, and composition, respectively. Regardless of nitride content, silicon oxynitrides had similar stability to silicon nitrides. The relative standing of alkali ion sensitivity in silicon oxynitride layers was influenced by nitride content. The better alkali ion-sensitivity was achieved by increasing oxide content in bulk of silicon oxynitrides.
Aluminum thin plate coated with epoxy resin containing about 20wt% brass powder, was applied to fins of heat exchanger. We carried out a series of detailed examinations to evaluate the anti-bacterial performance of the plate and heat exchanger (fan coil unit). In the presence of water or moisture, copper ions which have an anti-bacterial ability eluted from brass powder and showed sufficient effects on many kinds of bacteria. We also evaluated the anti-bacterial performance quantitatively by use of the index API (Anti-bacterial Performance Index) which has already been proposed by authors.
This study measured and analyzed the weather characteristics and the air-ion characteristics of walking space by land use type in Chungju, Chungcheongbuk Province during the heat wave. We used the land registration map to classify the type of land use in walking areas in the studied into the production and green area, the residential area, and the commercial area. We then selected 44 measurement points in about 4.1 km. They included 12 walking space points in the green area, 14 in the residential area, and 18 in the commercial area. Moreover, we calculated the ion index by analyzing the impact of weather factors such as temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, and net radiation in the walking space on the anion generation and cation generation by land use type during the heat wave. Comparison of air ion characteristics in walking space by type of land use during the heat wave showed that the average cation generation was in the order of commercial area ($700.73cations/cm^3$) > residential area ($600.76cations/cm^3$) > green area ($589.73cations/cm^3$). The average anion generation was in the order of green area ($663.95anions/cm^3$) > residential area ($628.48anions/cm^3$) > commercial area ($527.48anions/cm^3$). The average ion index was in the order of green area (1.13) > residential area (1.04) > commercial area (0.75). This study checked the weather characteristics, cation generation, and anion generation in walking space according to the land use type during the heat wave and checked the difference of ion indexes in the walking space according to the land use type. However, there were limitations in the lack of accurate comparison according to the land use due to the moving measurement and the insufficient quantitative comparison according to the change of road width. Therefore, we recommend further studies that consider the road characteristics.

Clay soils are typical for their swelling properties upon absorption of water during rains and development of cracks during summer time owing to the profile desorption of water through the inter-connected soil pores by water vapour diffusion leading to evaporation. This type of unstable soil phenomenon by and large poses a serious threat to the strength and stability of structures when rest on such type of soils. Even as lime and cement are extensively used for stabilization of clay soils it has become imperative to find relatively cheaper alternative materials to bring out the desired properties within the clay soil domain. In the present era of catastrophic environmental degradation as a side effect to modernized manufacturing processes, industrialization and urbanization the creative idea would be treating the waste products in a beneficial way for reuse and recycling. Bottom ash and ecosand are construed as a waste product from cement industry. An optimal combination of bottom ash-eco sand can be thought of as a viable alternative to stabilize the clay soils by means of an effective dispersion dynamics associated with the inter connected network of pore spaces. A CATIA model was created and imported to ANSYS Fluent to study the dispersion dynamics. Ion migration from the bottom ash-ecosand pile was facilitated through natural formation of cracks in clay soil subjected to atmospheric conditions. Treated samples collected at different curing days from inner and outer zones at different depths were tested for, plasticity index, Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS), free swell index, water content, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), pH and ion concentration to show the effectiveness of the method in improving the clay soil.

Li-Ion battery is used in the most satellites now due to advantages such as weight, thermal dissipation and self discharge compared to the previous generations of electrochemical batteries. The performance analysis model of the Li-Ion battery is needed to aid the design of new satellite electrical power subsystem. This paper develops the performance analysis model of the Li-Ion battery to apply to the electrical power subsystem design and energy balance analysis on geostationary orbit. The analysis model receives the satellite bus power, solar array power and battery temperature and gives the battery voltage, charge and discharge currents, taper index, state of charge and power dissipation. The results from the performance analysis are compared and analyzed with the flight data to verify the model. The compared results show satisfactory without significant difference with the flight data.
The optical property, the environmental stability and the crystallization of ZnS thin films prepared by ion-assisted deposition (IAD) were investigated and compared with those of conventional electron-beam deposited thin films. The humidity(R.H. 85%) test and the thermal(15$0^{\circ}C$) show that the IAD films have relatively higher refractive index, smaller extinction coefficient and environmentally more stable than the conventional films. It is believed to originate from the reduced adsorption of moisture which reflect the increased packing density and the improved microstructure by ion bombardment. XRD experiments also confirm that conventionally grown films have an amorphous in comparison with the crystalline structured IAD films.
In this paper, we have fabricated asymmetric Y-branch optical power splitters with various optical power splitting ratios by changing the width of one of the output waveguides using $Ag^+-Na^+$ ion change method in BK7 glass. The transmission characteristics of asymmetric Y-branch optical power splitters with different output waveguide width have been investigated using the finitedifference beam propagation method (FD-BPM). We have found the index of the channel waveguide formed by Ag+-Na+ ion change method in BK7 glass and have fabricated channel waveguides to examine the transmission characteristics of channel waveguide. And we have fabricated asymmetric Y-branch optical power splitters with output waveguide width from TEX>$4{\mu}m$ to $6{\mu}m$. /TEX>.
Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have attracted much interest for their high energy density (>150 mAh/g), high capacity, low self-discharge rate, and high coulombic efficiency. However, with the successful commercialization of LIBs, fire and explosion incidents are likely to increase. The thermal runaway is known as the major factor in battery-related accidents that can lead to a series of critical conditions. Considering this, recent studies have shown an increased interest in countering the safety issues associated with LIBs. Although safety standards for LIB use have recently been formulated, little attention has been paid to the safety around the manufacturing process for battery products. The present study introduces a risk assessment method suitable for assessing the safety of the LIB-manufacturing process. In the assessment method, a compensation parameter (Z-factor) is employed to correctly evaluate the process's safety on the basis of the type of material (e.g., metal anode, liquid electrolyte, solid-state electrolytes) utilized in a cell. The proposed method has been applied to an 18650 cell-manufacturing process, and three sub-processes have been identified as possibly vulnerable parts (risk index: >4). This study offers some crucial insights into the establishment of safety standards for battery-manufacturing processes.

This study presents a method to solidify spent ion-exchange resin (IER) in a metakaolin-based geopolymer and shows results of mechanical strength, immersion, leaching, irradiation, and thermal cycling tests for waste acceptance criteria (WAC) to repository. The geopolymer waste form with 20 wt% of simulated spent IER met the WAC in South Korea (ROK), and the leaching tests of various sized-waste forms up to 15.0 × 30.0 cm and waste loadings up to 20 wt% for 1-5 d and 1-90 d achieved a leachability index, Li > 6. In a leaching test for 5 d, the cumulative fraction leached (CFL) for Cs, which leached the most, was linearly correlated with the square root of leaching time for all waste forms, and Li increased as the size of the waste form increased. The CFL was also correlated with elapsed time in the 90 d leaching test. The correlations among CFL, time, and volume-to-surface area ratio of waste forms used to estimate the Li of Cs of a 200-L sized geopolymer with 15 wt% IER showed the Li values as 14.73 (5 d) and 17.71 (90 d), respectively, indicating that the large-sized geopolymer waste form met the WAC.
