다층 중첩 및 매핑에 의한 구조적 설계 (A Structural Design of Multilevel Decomposition and Mapping)

  • This paper describes an integrated optimization design using multilevel decomposition technique on the base of the parametric distribution and independent axiom at the stages of lower level. Based on Pareto optimum solution, the detailed parameters at the lower level can be defined into the independent axiom. The suspension design is used as the simulation example.

  • The usage of beam scanning type laser marker is rapidly increasing in the field of semiconductor equipment. A device called ″beam adjuster″ is employed to adjust the visible diode laser, which points the marking position for various setting. The device is very sensitive to manufacturing tolerance and assembly condition. Axiomatic approach has been applied to the design of the device. An existing design is analyzed based on the Independence Axiom. The existing design is found to violate the axiom. Two new designs are proposed to satisfy the Independence Axiom. The Information Axiom is utilized to evaluate the designs. A design is selected to have the minimum information content. The significance of this research is that a full cycle of axiomatic design is applied to a real engineering product.

  • Removal independence is a translation of Arrow's axiom of independence of irrelevant alternatives for social welfare functions to an axiom about consensus functions involving n-trees. It is shown that a consensus function is removal independent if and only if it is expressible as th union of three types of functions.

  • Moulton plane is the plane where all the plane axioms of Hilbert except the side-angle-side axiom hold true, and enables us to understand the importance and significance of the side-angle-side axiom. In this article, we start with the definitions of the Moulton lines, distance, angle, and then introduce many theorems of the Moulton geometry, with many intuitive proofs or explanations of our own with appropriate examples. In particular, we provide our independent study of the tangent lines to the Moulton circles and the rigid motions of the Moulton plane.

FLOER MINI-MAX THEORY, THE CERF DIAGRAM, AND THE SPECTRAL INVARIANTS

  • The author previously defined the spectral invariants, denoted by $\rho(H;\;a)$, of a Hamiltonian function H as the mini-max value of the action functional ${\cal{A}}_H$ over the Novikov Floer cycles in the Floer homology class dual to the quantum cohomology class a. The spectrality axiom of the invariant $\rho(H;\;a)$ states that the mini-max value is a critical value of the action functional ${\cal{A}}_H$. The main purpose of the present paper is to prove this axiom for nondegenerate Hamiltonian functions in irrational symplectic manifolds (M, $\omega$). We also prove that the spectral invariant function ${\rho}_a$ : $H\;{\mapsto}\;\rho(H;\;a)$ can be pushed down to a continuous function defined on the universal (${\acute{e}}tale$) covering space $\widetilde{HAM}$(M, $\omega$) of the group Ham((M, $\omega$) of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms on general (M, $\omega$). For a certain generic homotopy, which we call a Cerf homotopy ${\cal{H}}\;=\;\{H^s\}_{0{\leq}s{\leq}1}$ of Hamiltonians, the function ${\rho}_a\;{\circ}\;{\cal{H}}$ : $s\;{\mapsto}\;{\rho}(H^s;\;a)$ is piecewise smooth away from a countable subset of [0, 1] for each non-zero quantum cohomology class a. The proof of this nondegenerate spectrality relies on several new ingredients in the chain level Floer theory, which have their own independent interest: a structure theorem on the Cerf bifurcation diagram of the critical values of the action functionals associated to a generic one-parameter family of Hamiltonian functions, a general structure theorem and the handle sliding lemma of Novikov Floer cycles over such a family and a family version of new transversality statements involving the Floer chain map, and many others. We call this chain level Floer theory as a whole the Floer mini-max theory.

공리적 설계 기반 선체 블록 레벨링 시스템 개발 (A Development of Ship Block Leveling System based on the Axiomatic Design)

  • 본 연구에서는 공리적 설계 방법론에서 중요한 2가지 공리 중 독립공리를 시스템 개발에서 설계 기준으로 적용하였다. 기능 요구사항과 대응하는 설계 파라메터는 설계행렬을 구성하고 이를 이용하여 독립공리에 부합하는 설계 파라메터의 순서를 정한 후 블록 레벨링 시스템에서의 독립적 구성요소를 판별하였다. 이러한 공리적 설계의 결과로서 설계 순서에 맞는 블록 레벨링 시스템 구성을 도출하였다. 도출된 블록 레벨링 시스템 구성의 검증과 확인을 위해 블록 조립 현장에서 사용하고 있는 3차원 좌표 측정기인 토털 스테이션을 사용하여 실제 조립이 완료된 블록에 대하여 구현된 블록 레벨링 시스템을 적용하여 데이터를 비교하는 시험을 수행하였다. 토털 스테이션의 측정 데이터와 블록 레벨링 시스템의 수신 데이터를 비교하여 1 mm 이내의 정밀도로 블록 레벨링 시스템이 동작함을 검증하고 확인하였다.

공리적 설계를 이용한 모니터용 EPS 완충 포장 설계 시스템 개발 (Development of Design System for EPS Cushioning Package of Monitor Using Axiomatic Design)

  • The monitor product is packed by cushioning materials because the monitor can be broken during transportation. However, the addition of the cushioning material increased the volume of the product. Therefore, it is required that the usage of cushioning material be minimized. In practice, design engineers have followed the ad hoc design with experiences of predecessors. Automation of the design process is very important for the reduction of engineering cost, and can be achieved by an excellent design process and software development. According to Axiomatic design, a design flow is defined and a software system is developed for automated design. At first, a basic model is defined. A user can modify the model from menus and design is carried out according to the input from the user. Finite element models are automatically generated based on the design. A nonlinear finite element analysis program called LS/DYNA3D is linked for the impact analysis. The process of Design of Experiments using orthogonal array is installed to minimize the maximum acceleration in drop test. Therefore, a new design can be proposed by the system. The program is designed according to the Independence Axiom of Axiomatic design. FRs and DPs of the software system are defined and decomposed by zigzagging process. Independent modules can be generated by analysis of the full design matrix and each module is coded as class in Object Oriented Programming (OOP). Design results are discussed.

  • Axiomatic Design has been developed as a general design framework during past two decades and TRIZ has been developed for a design tool over 50 years. Axiomatic design is quite excellent in that the design should be decoupled. When a design matrix is established, the characteristics of the design are identified concerning the coupling properties. If the design is coupled, a decoupling process should be found. However, axiomatic design does not specifically indicate how to decouple. In this paper, a design method is developed to use TRIZ in the decoupling process. The decoupling ideas are extracted from the substance field analysis and various methods in TRIZ. The mettled is applied applied to the conceptual design of a beam splitter for the laser marker and the results are analyzed.

  • Axiomatic Design has been developed as a general design framework during past two decades and TRIZ has been developed for a design tool over 50 years. Axiomatic design is quite excellent in that design should be decoupled. When a design matrix is established, the characteristics of the design are identified according to the coupling properties. If the design is coupled, a decoupling process should be found. However, axiomatic design does not specifically indicate how to decouple a coupled design. In this research, the coupling manner is classified into six patterns. Each pattern could be solved by an appropriate TRIZ module. A table, which matches the coupling pattern and a TRIZ module, is proposed for effective application of the two design theories. The decoupling ideas are proposed by using TRIZ modules. When the number of decoupled designs is more than one, the engineer should select the final idea. The proposed method is applied to practical cases such as a tape feeder and a beam adjuster of the laser marker.
