In this study, pressure drop was measured in the pulse jet bag filter without venturi on which 16 numbers of filter bags (Ø$140{\times}850{\ell}$) are installed according to operation condition(filtration velocity, inlet dust concentration, pulse pressure, and pulse interval) using coke dust from steel mill. The obtained 180 pressure drop test data were used to predict pressure drop with multiple regression model so that pressure drop data can be used for effective operation condition and as basic data for economical design. The prediction results showed that when filtration velocity was increased by 1%, pressure drop was increased by 2.2% which indicated that filtration velocity among operation condition was attributed on the pressure drop the most. Pressure was dropped by 1.53% when pulse pressure was increased by 1% which also confirmed that pulse pressure was the major factor affecting on the pressure drop next to filtration velocity. Meanwhile, pressure drops were found increased by 0.3% and 0.37%, respectively when inlet dust concentration and pulse interval were increased by 1% implying that the effects of inlet dust concentration and pulse interval were less as compared with those changes of filtration velocity and pulse pressure. Therefore, the larger effect on the pressure drop the pulse jet bag filter was found in the order of filtration velocity($V_f$), pulse pressure($P_p$), inlet dust concentration($C_i$), pulse interval($P_i$). Also, the prediction result of filtration velocity, inlet dust concentration, pulse pressure, and pulse interval which showed the largest effect on the pressure drop indicated that stable operation can be executed with filtration velocity less than 1.5 m/min and inlet dust concentration less than $4g/m^3$. However, it was regarded that pulse pressure and pulse interval need to be adjusted when inlet dust concentration is higher than $4g/m^3$. When filtration velocity and pulse pressure were examined, operation was possible regardless of changes in pulse pressure if filtration velocity was at 1.5 m/min. If filtration velocity was increased to 2 m/min. operation would be possible only when pulse pressure was set at higher than $5.8kgf/cm^2$. Also, the prediction result of pressure drop with filtration velocity and pulse interval showed that operation with pulse interval less than 50 sec. should be carried out under filtration velocity at 1.5 m/min. While, pulse interval should be set at lower than 11 sec. if filtration velocity was set at 2 m/min. Under the conditions of filtration velocity lower than 1 m/min and high pulse pressure higher than $7kgf/cm^2$, though pressure drop would be less, in this case, economic feasibility would be low due to increased in installation and operation cost since scale of dust collection equipment becomes larger and life of filtration bag becomes shortened due to high pulse pressure.
Cleft Palate speech appears to have hyper/hyponasality with velopharyngeal insufficiency and articulation disorders. Previous studies on Cleft Palate speech have shown that speech tends to have lower airflow and air pressure. To examine the aerodynamic characteristics of Cleft Palate speech, Aerophone II Voice function Analyzer was used. We measured sound pressure level, airflow, air pressure and glottal power. Three Cleft Palate adults and five normal adults participated in this experiment. The test words are composed of: (1) the sustained vowel /o/ (2) /CiCi/, where C is one of three different stop consonants in Korean (3) /bimi/. Subjects were asked to produce /bimi/ five times without opening their lips. All the data was statistically tested by t-test for Cleft Palate patients before operation groups and control groups and paired t-test for Cleft Palate patients before and after operation groups. The results were as follow: (1) Cleft Palate patients generally speak with incomplete oral closure and lower oral air pressure. As a result, the SPL of Cleft Palate before operation is 3 dB lower than control groups. (2) Airflow of Cleft Palate in phonation and articulation is lower than that of control groups. However, it increased after operation. Lung volume and mean airflow in phonation are significantly increased (p<0.05). (3) Although velopharyngeal function (velar opening rate) of Cleft Palate is poor in comparison with control groups, it was recovered after operation. In this event maximum flow rate and mean airflow rate are significantly increased (p<0.05). (4) Air pressure of Cleft Palate in speech is lower than that of control groups. In general, the air pressure of Cleft Palate increased after operation. In this event air pressure of glottalized consonant is significantly increased (p<0.04). (5) Glottal Power(mean power, mean efficient and mean resistant) of Cleft Palate patients is lower than that of control groups. But mean efficient and mean resistant of Cleft Palate patients increased significantly (p<0.05) after operation.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the change of the peak plantar pressure distribution under the foot areas and the range of motion (ROM) of ankle joint according to gradients in treadmill gait. Method : Thirty normal subjects (15 male and 15 female) walked on treadmill at three gradient conditions ($0^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$, and $15^{\circ}$) in normal speed. The ankle ROM was measured using the CMS70P that is three dimensional analyzer for excursion of ankle ROM, plantar flexion, and dorsi flexion. The peak plantar pressure distribution under the hallux, 1st metatarsal head (MTH) and heel was measured using the F -Scan system with an in-shoe sensor. Data was collected from 9 steps of left sife foot in at each gradient condition while all subjects walked. Result : As the treadmill gradient increased, the excursion of ankle joint was significantly increased (p<.05). Also, plantar flexion and dorsi flexion was significantly increased according to treadmill gradients (p<.05). The peak plantar pressure under the 1st MTH was significantly increased (p<.05) and the peak plantar pressure under the heel was significantly decreased (p<.05) as the treadmill gradient increased. No significant different in the peak plantar pressure under the hallux was observed. Conclusion : This study suggests that physical therapy for patients who have limited ankle ROM should be considered sufficient range of motion for functional ambulation. And individuals that have painful forefoot syndromes, including metatarsalgia, hallux valgus, and plantar ulceration should be careful in walking to uphill, as there is high plantar pressure under the forefoot.

Injection molding operation consists of phases of filling, packing, and cooling. The highest cavity pressure is involved in the packing phase among the operation phases. Thus the cavity pressure largely depends upon velocity to pressure (v/p) switchover timing and magnitude of packing pressure. Developed cavity pressure is directly related to stress concentration in the cavity of mold and it may cause a crack in the mold. Consequently control of cavity pressure is considered very important. In this study, cavity pressure was analyzed in terms of v/p switchover timing and packing pressure through computer simulation and experiment. Cavity pressure was increased as the v/p switchover timing was delayed. Residual pressure after cooling phase was observed when the v/p switchover timing was late, which was due to increased pressurizing time for long filling phase. Cavity pressure was increased proportionally with the packing pressure. Residual pressure after cooling phase was also observed, and it was increased with increasing packing pressure. High cavity pressure and residual pressure have been observed at late v/p switchover and high packing pressure. Compared with simulation and experimental results, the profiles of pressures were very similar however simulation could not predict residual pressure. Packing condition was important for the control of cavity pressure and the optimum condition could be set up using CAE analysis.
Infrared multiphoton dissociation of $CHCl_2F$ was studied using $CO_2$ laser excitation. Three products, $C_2Cl_2F_2$, $C_2ClF_3$, and $C_2HClF_2$, were identified by the analysis of the gas mixture from the photoreaction of $CHCl_2F$. The dependence of the reaction probability on added Ar gas pressure and excitation laser pulse energy was investigated. At low pressure (< 10 torr), the reaction probability increased as Ar pressure increased due to the rotational hole-filling effect, while it diminished with the increase of Ar pressure at high pressure (> > 20 torr) due to the collisional deactivation. The ratio of two products $(C_2ClF_3/C_2Cl_2F_2)$ decreased at low pressure (< 10 torr) and increased at high pressure (> 20 torr) with the increase of Ar pressure. The log-log plot of the reaction probability vs. laser pulse energy (${\\phi}$) was found to have a linear relationship, and its slope decreased as the added Ar pressure was increased. The reaction mechanisms for product formation have been suggested and validated by experimental evidences and considering the energetics. Fluorine-chlorine exchange reaction in the intermediate complex has been suggested to explain the formation of $C_2ClF_3$.
The moisture contained in conventionally extracted red crab shell samples was lower than than in samples extracted using high pressure. In contrast, ash content increased as the extraction time increased and displayed no significant variation in high pressure extraction. Extraction time was influential, with lower lightness (L-value) being obtained in samples extracted at high pressure as compared to traditional extraction. However, large variation in a- and b-values resulted from traditional extraction. For both traditional and high pressure extraction increases in pH, salinity and saccharide content were noted with increasing extraction time, but these parameters did not vary substantially in red crab shell extracted at high pressure. The mineral content in samples extracted by high pressure was higher than in traditionally extracted samples. The mineral content increased with time, with marginally higher contents of essential amino acids and flavor enhancing amino acids noted following high pressure extraction. The contents of the flavor enhancing amino acids increased from 30?60 min, thereafter decreasing. Assessment of consumer acceptance revealed that, while traditionally manufactured red crab sauce was popular, sauce manufactured using a 60 min high pressure extraction was preferred. Extending the high pressure extraction time to 75 min produced a less sensory acceptable product, due to higher mineral and protein levels.
Spray and combustion characteristics were investigated to find suitable injection pressure by using ultra high pressure injection and single shot diesel combustion systems. As injection pressure was increased, spray penetration and spray angle were increased continuously until 2,000bar, but after this injection pressure region the rate of increase was decreased suddenly. Combustion characteristics were also enhanced until 2,000bar of injection pressure.
Effect of partial oxygen pressure on the cell growth and the activities of oxidative defense enzymes were measured in the continuous culture of Streptomyces coelicolor. Both the wild type and the mutant strain resistant to hydrogen peroxide were cultured and the dry cell weight of the two cultures were measured at different oxygen tensions. Growth of the wild type was inhibited by oxygen at above 0.5 vvm. Growth of the hydrogen peroxide resistant mutant was stimulated by pure oxygen at 0.5 vvm but was inhibited by oxygen at 1.0 vvm. Therefore, growth of the hydrogen peroxide resistant mutant was less affected by the deleterious oxidative stress of oxygen. Activities of the several defense enzymes were also measured at different oxygen tensions. Activities of catalase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase increased significantly as oxygen pressure increased in the wild type culture. In the mutant, however, increase in those enzyme activities was not obvious whereas the uninduced levels of the above enzymes were higher than those of wild type. As judged by Western blotting, the amount of the major catalase increased as the oxygen pressure increased. This indicates that the induction of the catalase activity by oxygen pressure is mostly due to the increase in the expression level for the major catalase.
In order to reduce NOx emissions in the 20kw class microturbines under development, the low NOx characteristics, as being an application to the lean premixed combustion technology, have been investigated. The study has been conducted at the conditions of high temperature and pressure. Air from a compressor with the temperature of 500K to 650K and the pressure of 0.3bar gauge to 0.7bar gauge, was supplied to the combustor through an air preheat-treatment. Sampling exhaust gases were measured at the immediate exit of the combustor. for the effect of temperature on NO and CO emissions. though NOx was increased, CO was decreased with increasing inlet air temperature. With increasing inlet air pressure, NOx and CO were increased also. NOx was decreased, but CO was increased with increasing inlet air mass flow rate. The test has been performed on the equivalent ratios of 0.10 to 0.25 in a lean region. NOx was increased with increasing equivalent ratios, but CO was decreased as an influence of flame temperature. In the very lean region of the equivalent ratio below 0.12, CO was increased suddenly, due to instability. As the results of this study, NOx and CO are found to be reduced to the similar level at the same time when operated at optimal conditions.

Supercharging system was adopted to investigate the influence of boost pressure on operating range and exhaust emissions by using a supercharger at low temperature diesel combustion (LTC) condition in a 5-cylinder 2.7 L direct injection diesel engine. The experimental parameters such as injection quantity, injection timing, injection pressure and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) rate were varied to find maximum operating range in LTC condition. As a result of adopting increased boost pressure in LTC, wider operating range was achieved compared with naturally aspirated condition due to increased mixing intensity. Increased boost pressure resulted in lower hydrocarbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions due to increased swirl rate and mixing intensity, which induced complete combustion. Moreover, increased boost pressure in LTC resulted in much lower soot emissions compared with high speed direct injection (HSDI) condition.
