  • By development of heat resistant alloy, there are much improvement of gas turbine engines. But heat resistant alloy has difficulty of machining. therefore, ECM (Electrochemical Machining) is used for Machining of 3 dimensional curved surface of Ni-base alloy. The purpose of this paper is to investigate ECM parameters that make tile good surface for Ni-base alloy blade. For this purpose, we have been investigated that center line average surface roughness(R$\sub$a/), average R$\sub$a/, Maximum R$\sub$a/ and Standard deviation of R$\sub$a/ for measuring positions is influenced on ECM parameters such as electrolyte types, dwell time, electrolyte pressure and sort of electrolyte for Inconel 718 and Waspaloy.

LGT를 이용한 고온, 고압용 동압 센서 개발 (Development of the high-temperature, high-pressure Dynamic pressure sensor with LGT)

  • This study developed a high-temperature, high-pressure dynamic pressure sensor using LGT(lanthanum gallium tantalate). The sensitivity of the fabricated dynamic pressure sensor was 2.1 mV/kPa and its nonlinearity was 2.5%FS. We confirmed that the high-temperature dynamic pressure sensor operated stably in high-temperature environment at $500^{\circ}C$. The developed dynamic pressure sensor using LGT is expected to be applicable not only to gas turbines but also in various industrial areas in duding airplanes and power stations.

터보펌프 소재의 기계적 물성치 검토에 관한 연구 (Study on the Mechanical Property of Turbopump Material)

  • The study was performed to search on alternative material for turbopump parts made of Russian material by analyzing and comparing chemical and mechanical material properties. Iron base material was generally used for turbopump. This material can be categorized into stainless steel and heat resisting steel by quantity of additional elements. Each steel was also classified into austenite steel, ferrite steel, and martensite steel. Alternative materials for turbopump inducer, impeller and casing are chosen by JIS SUS 631 and 321 as a result of this study. Because the material of Russian turbopump turbine may be developed by Russia itself, alternative material can be hardly found. However, Inconel 718 for turbine material is thought to be proper in the aspect of hardness considering general use of this material for turbopump turbine in Japan and France.

9% 니켈강 후판 용접부의 강도 및 잔류응력 (Welding Residual Stress and Strength of Thick 9% Nickel Steel Plate)

  • In this paper, the transient thermal and residual stress analysis of the welding of 9% Ni steel plates using the FEA software ABAQUS are presented. The 9% Ni steel plates are welded manually with welding consumables of 70% Ni based Inconel type super-alloys (YAWATA WELD B (M)), producing a multi-pass/multi-layer butt weld. For these materials, temperature dependant mechanical and thermal material properties are used in the analysis. The back gouging is considered in welding process simulation. The FE thermal results are validated by comparing the real fusion profile and heat affected zone (HAZ). In addition, the continuous indentation test was conducted to measure the strength of base metal, HAZ and weld metal.

플라즈마 전처리를 통한 금속 기판 위 탄소나노튜브의 합성 수율 증대

  • 다양한 금속기판 위에 탄소나노튜브(CNT)를 직접성장 시키는 경우, 플라즈마를 이용한 기판 전처리가 CNT의 저온 합성 및 합성수율 향상에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 합성용 금속기판으로는 SUS316L, Inconel, Invar, Hastelloy 등 Ni계 합금을 이용하였다. 전처리 시 플라즈마의 인가전력 및 기판온도의 증가에 따라 기판 표면조도의 증가를 확인하였고, 그에 따른 합성온도 저하 및 합성수율 증대 결과를 얻었다. 기판 열처리를 부가적으로 실시한 경우, 기판 열처리 온도 또한 합성수율에 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었으며, 특히, 인코넬 기판의 경우, 열처리 후 플라즈마 전처리를 실시한 기판에서 합성수율이 크게 향상되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

세라믹(PSZ)/금속(NiCrAlY) 경사기능성 복합재료의 화염 열충격 파괴특성 (Fracture Characteristics of Flame Thermal Shock in PSZ/NiCrAlY FGM)

  • Functionally graded materials (FGM) of PSZ/NiCrAlY on Inconel substrate were fabricated by detonation gun spraying method. A thick ceramic layer generally has a high thermal barrier effect however, because failure often occurs, the use of an FGM layer gives an advantage in thermal property. During the thermal shock test, micro fracture processes were detected by the AE method. Also, the thermal shock test was performed for NFGM, FGM and the changed FGM in the layered composition profile. It was found through AE testing and the observation of fracture surface that FGM was superior to NFGM in thermal shock properties. The linear or metal-rich type FGM in composition profile had the best resisting property among the FGM. It was found that the controlled composition profile of the graded layers had better thermal properties.

  • Electroforming is one of the key technologies for the regenerative thrust chamber of the rocket engine. To use nickel electroforming method for the thrust chamber, direct electroforming of nickel on cupper and the welding method between different materials are needed. Minimizing the internal stress is one of the important factor for making thick electroforming,. Also minimizing contamination(ex. Sulfur containing compound) is another important factor for the stability of quality. This paper includes advanced methods for thick nickel electroforming, those of strength test results and EDS/EPMA inspection results. Advanced for electroforming process makes the achievement of Electro-beam welding between Inconel718(Manifold) and Nickel Electroforming. This paper also includes the influence of the electroforming precipitation angle on strength. Thus advanced electroforming improvement processes and the test results make achievement for manufacturing of the regenerative thrust chamber with direct nickel thick electroforming on cupper materials.

Radiation damage to Ni-based alloys in Wolsong CANDU reactor environments

  • Radiation damage due to neutrons has been calculated in Ni-based alloys in Wolsong CANDU reactor environments. Two damage parameters are considered: displacement damage, and transmutation gas production. We used the SPECTER and SRIM computer codes in quantifying radiation damage. In addition, damage caused by Ni two-step reactions was considered. Estimations were made for the annulus spacers in a CANDU reactor that are located axially along a fuel channel and made of Inconel X-750. The calculation results indicate that the transmutation gas production from the Ni two-step reactions is predominant as the effective full power year increases. The displacement damage due to recoil atoms produced from Ni two-step reactions accounts for over 30% out of the total displacement damage.

중성염 용액 내에서 우라늄으로 오염된 금속성 해체폐기물의 전해제염 (Electrolytic Decontamination of the Dismantled Metallic Wastes Contaminated with Uanium Compounds in Neutral Salt Solutions)

  • 국내의 가동 중지된 우라늄 변환시설의 해체 시 다량의 우라늄으로 오염되어 있는 금속성 폐기물의 재활용 또는 자체처분을 위한 제염기술로 중성염 전해액을 사용하는 전해제염 공정의 적용성을 평가하기 위하여 우라늄 변환시설 내부설비의 주 구성 재료인 SUS-304 및 Inconel-600에 대한 전기화학적 용해거동 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 중성염 전해질의 형태, 전해질의 농도, 전류밀도, 처리시간과 같은 전해제염 조건들이 금속 재료의 용해에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 모의 시편을 사용한 비방사성 전해용해 실험 결과를 근거로 실제 우라늄 변환시설로부터 인출한 $UO_2$, AUC (ammonium uranyl carbonate) 및 ADU (ammonium diuranate) 오염시편에 대해 $Na_2SO_4$$NaNO_3$ 중성염 용액에서 전해 제염실험을 수행하였으며, 오염물의 종류 및 오염 준위의 대소와는 관계없이 모든 시편에 대하여 10분 이내의 짧은 시간 내에 자체처분 기준치 이하로 $\beta$ 방사능 준위를 감소시킴으로써 본 중성염 전해제염이 매우 성공적임을 확인하였다.

고온 고압 환경에서 인코넬 690 재료의 프레팅 마모 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Fretting Wear of Inconel 690 Under High Temperatures and Pressures)

  • 증기 발생기 내부의 U-tube와 지지 구조간의 충격에 의하여 발생하는 프레팅 마모는 원자력 발전소 안전성에 영향을 미치게 된다. 증기발생기의 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위하여 이러한 프레팅 마모 현상을 평가하는 것이 필요하며, 본 연구는 프레팅 마모현상을 정성적, 정량적으로 규명하기 위하여 증기발생기의 실제 상황과 같은 조건의 온도와 압력하에서 실험을 수행하였다. 다양한 실험조건에 대하여 기본적인 실험을 수행하였으며 일률과 마모량의 관계를 온도에 따라 구하였다. $90^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$, $340^{\circ}C$ 각각의 온도에서의 마모상수는 $9.051{\times}10^{-16}\;Pa^{-1}$, $3.009{\times}10^{-15}\;Pa^{-1}$, $2.235{\times}10^{-15}\;Pa^{-1}$로 구해졌으며 특히 저온 수중상태의 마모상수는 물의 점도의 영향으로 상온 공기중의 값보다 작은 것으로 나타났다.
