Development of PCR-based markers for discriminating Solanum berthaultii using its complete chloroplast genome sequence

  • Solanum berthaultii is one of the wild diploid Solanum species, which is an excellent resource in potato breeding owing to its resistance to several important pathogens. On the other hand, sexual hybridization between S. berthaultii and S. tuberosum (potato) is limited because of their sexual incompatibility. Therefore, cell fusion can be used to introgress various novel traits from this wild species into the cultivated potatoes. After cell fusion, it is crucial to identify fusion products with the aid of molecular markers. In this study, the chloroplast genome sequence of S. berthaultii obtained by next-generation sequencing technology was described and compared with those of five other Solanum species to develop S. berthaultii specific markers. A total sequence length of the chloroplast genome is 155,533 bp. The structural organization of the chloroplast genome is similar to those of the five other Solanum species. Phylogenic analysis with 25 other Solanaceae species revealed that S. berthaultii is most closely located with S. tuberosum. Additional comparison of the chloroplast genome sequence with those of the five Solanum species revealed 25 SNPs specific to S. berthaultii. Based on these SNPs, six PCR-based markers for differentiating S. berthaultii from other Solanum species were developed. These markers will facilitate the selection of fusion products and accelerate potato breeding using S. berthaultii.

폐비닐로 개질된 아스팔트의 저장안정성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Storage Stability of Waste Vinyl-Modified Asphalt)

  • 아스팔트 개질재로 쓰이고 있는 폴리에틸렌은 아스팔트와의 비중차와 비상용성으로 인하여 상분리가 일어난다고 알려지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 상분리를 억제하기 위하여 폴리에틸렌을 가교시킬 수 있는 것으로 알려지고 있는 과산화물을 사용하여 상분리 억제를 시도하였다. 폴리에틸렌 수지로는 폐비닐을 사용하였으며, 과산화물로는 디큐밀퍼옥사이드와 로로일퍼옥사이드를 사용하였다. 현미경상으로는 과산화물이 첨가되어 상분리가 억제되었다. 그러나 유변물성을 측정한 결과는 아스팔트와 폴리에틸렌은(비록 폴리에틸렌이 가교된다 하더라도) 분자단위에서는 서로 섞일 수 없음을 보여주고 있다. 기계적 시험(인장강도, 마샬안정도, 동적안정도)에서는 매우 우수한 물성을 보여주어 소성변형에 대한 저항성이 크게 향상된 것으로 나타났고, 이는 기존의 슈퍼팔트보다 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

  • This study examines the socio-cultural background of a Nerd-chic look, establishes a conceptual foundation for Nerd-chic look and examines its aesthetic characteristics in order to understand the latest modern fashion phenomenon. Nerd-chic look is a combination of 'nerd' as a popular collective style and 'chic', which refers to the aesthetic value of a costume style. It is a look that is expressed in fashion that reflects the contemporary aesthetic desires based on a nerd's external features and inner values. The aesthetic characteristics of the Nerd-chic look are as follows. First, the Nerd-chic look express the aesthetic characteristic of bricolage that transforms the familiar meaning of an outdated nerd style to 'chic' image by the rearrangement of the typical nerd style and retro fashion elements. Second, the Nerd-chic look express the aesthetic characteristic of supernormal, as a plain, restrained beauty based on the Normcore fashion mood, disassembly and recombination of ordinary items, fit-free styling, and asexual styling. Third, the Nerd-chic look expresses the aesthetic characteristics of deluxe poor, which rejects stereotypical and expensive luxury and presents a more contemporary and futuristic spirituality. It is expressed in oversized shapes that are not intended to fit the body and show incompatibility between fashion items or way of dressing.

  • 자산가격의 비대칭적 변동을 설명하기 위해 최근 비대칭적 점프확산 모형이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 자산가격 모형을 분석하는데 사용되는 효율적인 베이지안 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안되는 방법은 모형 요소가 쉽게 추출되는 편의성을 희생하지 않으면서도 조건부 분포들간의 함수적 비호환성을 통해 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있는 부분붕괴 깁스 샘플러를 고안함으로써 개발되었다. 제안된 방법은 모의실험 자료에 적용되어 그 효율성을 검증하였고 1980년 9월부터 2014년 8월까지 관찰된 일별 S&P 500 자료에 적용되었다.

  • 철도차량용 냉방기는 각 차종별로 기능은 대동소이하나 용량과 부품이 상이하고 제작년도별로 부품 제작사 등이 서로 달라 호환성이 적어 유지보수에 애로가 많고 검수시간과 과다소요 등 비용이 과다 지출되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 고장처치를 위해 냉방기를 차종별로 일목요연하게 정리하고 형식 규격 용량 등을 파악, 그 현황을 도시하여 가동현황과 검수공정 등을 고찰하며 체계적이고 효율적인 유지보수 방안을 도출하고 응급복구에 대응할 수 있는 고장 처치 요령을 제시함으로써 검수 질 향상을 통해 냉방기의 수명을 연장시키고 궁극적으로 여객수입증대를 기함과 동시에 고객서비스를 향상시키고자 한다.

변형구배 결정소성 유한요소해석법을 이용한 니켈기 다결정 합금의 Hall-Petch 관계 모델링 (Modeling the Hall-Petch Relation of Ni-Base Polycrystalline Superalloys Using Strain-Gradient Crystal Plasticity Finite Element Method)

  • A strain-gradient crystal plasticity constitutive model was developed in order to predict the Hall-Petch behavior of a Ni-base polycrystalline superalloy. The constitutive model involves statistically stored dislocation and geometrically necessary dislocation densities, which were incorporated into the Bailey-Hirsch type flow stress equation with six strength interaction coefficients. A strain-gradient term (called slip-system lattice incompatibility) developed by Acharya was used to calculate the geometrically necessary dislocation density. The description of Kocks-Argon-Ashby type thermally activated strain rate was also used to represent the shear rate of an individual slip system. The constitutive model was implemented in a user material subroutine for crystal plasticity finite element method simulations. The grain size dependence of the flow stress (viz., the Hall-Petch behavior) was predicted for a Ni-base polycrystalline superalloy NIMONIC PE16. Simulation results showed that the present constitutive model fairly reasonably predicts 0.2%-offset yield stresses in a limited range of the grain size.

  • Soft segment가 각각 ester 및 ether형 polyol로된 2종의 polyurethane(PU) ionomer를 emulsion 블렌딩하여, 블렌드의 분산점도, 및 emulsion cast film의 접촉각, 기계적 특성을 조성의 함수로 측정하였다. 블렌드의 기계물성은 혼합법칙으로부터 심한 scattering이나, negative deviation을 보였으며, 이는 ester 및 ether형 polyol간의 상용성의 결여에 기인하는 것으로 보았다. 접촉각 측정 결과로부터 유화입경이 작은 PPG PU 입자가 주로 도막표면층을 형성하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

An Asymmetric Key-Based Security Architecture for Wireless Sensor Networks

  • In spite of previous common assumptions about the incompatibility of public key cryptography (PKC) schemes with wireless sensor networks (WSNs), recent works have shown that they can be utilized for such networks in some manner. The major challenge of employing a PKC-based scheme in a wireless sensor network is posed by the resource limitations of the tiny sensors. Considering this sensor feature, in this paper we propose an efficient PKC-based security architecture with relatively lower resource requirements than those of previously proposed PKC schemes for WSN. In addition, our scheme aims to provide robust security in the network. Our security architecture comprises two basic components; a key handshaking scheme based on simple, linear operations and the derivation of a decryption key by a receiver node. Our architecture enables node-to-base-station and node-to-node secure communications. Analysis and simulation results show that our proposed architecture ensures a good level of security for network communications, and can be effectively implemented with the limited computational, memory, and energy budgets of current-generation sensor nodes.

  • Isophorone diisocyante(IPDI), 각각 에스터와 에테르 타입의 폴리올인 poly[butyl/ethylene adipate] glycol(PBEAG), poly[oxytetramethylene] glycol(PTMG)과 잠재적 음이온기인 dimethylol propionic acid(DMPA)로부터 음이온성 폴리우레탄 분산체(PUD)를 제조하였다. 폴리올의 종류 및 조성이 PUD의 유화 입경과 건조 필름의 기계적, 열적 성질에 미치는 영향 등을 검토하였다. 혼합된 폴리올의 조성 변화 시, PTMG 함량이 증가할수록 PUD의 유화 입경은 점근적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였고, 인장 강도는 완만한 감소를 나타내다가 증가하였다. 이는 두 폴리올간의 상용성이 적기 때문에 나타나는 결과로 해석되며, 이러한 비상용성은 DSC분석을 통하여 유리전이온도(Tg) 측정으로부터 확인할 수 있었다.

Algin과 Chitosan으로부터 제조한 생분해성 Film의 생체적합성 (Biocompatibility of the Prepared Biodegradable Film from Algin and Chitosan)

  • Biodegradable films were prepared by solution blending method in the weight ratio of Chitosan and Algin for the purpose of useful bioimplants. The possibility of bioimplants, which prepared from natural polymers as a skin substitute and food wrapping materials were evaluated by measuring the biodegradability. these biodegradable films were inserted in the back of rats and their biodegradability was investigated by hematological change as a function of time. Rats study showed that low-Chitosan induced increments of monocyte and basophil after 48 hours of implantation. And medium-Chitosan showed increase of lymphocyte and decreased neutrophil counts after 48 hours of implantation. Low, medium Chitosan showed high hemoglobin contents, medium and high Chitosan showed high hematocrit value after 48 hours of implantation. As a result, medium, high-Chitosan induced potential incompatibility in the tissue after 48 hours, but there was little effects to the skin inflammation. The values of biodegradable films, which prepared from natural polymers measured in this study were some satisfiable results at short period with those of ideal skin bioimplants and artificial skin.
