Background : Patients who were discharged from the emergency department(ED) may revisit. These patients are divided into two groups; one is expected scheduled condition, the other is unexpected condition. These patients of inappropriate revisits to the ED would be unsatisfied, difficult to make rapport and take legal action as a result of additional medical charges. The purpose of this study was to reduce inappropriate revisits to the ED with a new method which was developed by analyzing inappropriate revisits in 2002. Methods : This study was conducted in a tertiary hospital consisting of 1,278 beds. The most common cause of inappropriate revisits was the medical team's lack of explanation about a disease. Thus we decided that the effective method was to offer full explanations to patients to understand the clinical pathway of a disease. We made four types of stickers to explain most common 4 diseases in 2003. An emergency physician completed 'discharge explanation report' and explained it to patients in 2004. Results : In 2002 inappropriate revisited patients were 164, patients with four diseases were 79. During the same period of 2003, inappropriate revisited patients were 56 (-65.9%), four disease patients were 6 (-92.4%) and in 2004 inappropriate revisited patients were 52, four disease patients were 19. Causes of revisits were lack of explanation about a disease in 35 patients (44.3%) in 2003, and 5 patients (83.3%) in 2003, and 16 patients (84.2%). Conclusions : Application of 'explanation stickers' at discharge reduced inappropriate revisits from 34.5% in 2002 to 15.9% in 2003. Application of 'Discharge explanation report' by emergency physician reduced inappropriate revisits from 15.9% in 2003 to 13.5% in 2004. Reduction of inappropriate revisits elevated the quality of medical treatment, and decreased patients' dissatisfaction in ED.
A defect on the product safety display is defined by a failure to prevent the damage caused by the inappropriate explanation, direction, and caution to warn the users of the related risks. In other words, it lacks the sufficient instructions or caution for proper use and is unable to furnish the possible danger of the product and the instructions to deal with it. The defect is the responsibility of the manufacturers who are supposed to provide the adequate information so as to prevent injuries of the users. However, in order to prove the product safety display defective, there should be a comprehensive consideration in many different ways such as social norms (such as property and expectation of the product), usage form, indication of the expected risk, and awareness of consumer about the harm and possibility of avoidance of danger. The purpose of this research is to propose the content and types of standardized indication of safety in the industrial product by collecting and analyzing domestic safety information.
This study was conducted to investigate the relationships between the patterns of elementary school teachers' explanations and the patterns of students' questions types on scientific phenomena. for the purposes of this study, we collected questions related to scientific phenomena from 255 $3rd{\sim}6th$ students in 2 elementary schools. Classifying the students' questions collected, 20 representative questions for each type were selected. Data regarding teachers' scientific explanation from 62 teachers of 3 elementary schools were also collected. The results of the analysis of the questions for each science field show that the students in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades have the most questions regarding biology, and those in the 6th grade have more questions regarding earth science. Regarding question types, object exploration questions and explican exploration questions formed the majority. Moreover, the higher the students' grades, a decrease in the number of conjectural questions and an increase in the number of causal questions were observed. As a result of the analysis of the teachers' explanation, the following explanation types could be discerned; conjecture, hypothesis, prediction, teleological explanation, information given to feed exploration questions, as well as verification and information supply fer verification purposes. There were 4 kinds of relationships between question types and explanation types. One was the explanation fitting to each question type, a second was the explanation with additional content than the question required, a third was where the explanation was inappropriate to the question, and a forth was where the teacher responded that they "don't know." This study, investigating the relationships between questioning as a scientific inquiry process and explanation, will help to promote discussion regarding science classes in elementary school.
This study investigates how common English hedge expressions such as 'I think' and 'I guess' appear in Korean, with the aim of providing explicit explanation for English-speaking leaners of Korean. Based on a contrastive analysis of spoken English and Korean corpus, this study argues three points: Firstly, 'I guess' appears with a wider variety of modalities in Korean than 'I think'. Secondly, this study has found that Korean textbooks contain inappropriate use of registers regarding the English translations of '-geot -gat-': although these markers are used in spoken Korean, they were translated into written English. Therefore, this study suggests that '-geot -gat-' be translated into 'I think' in spoken English, and into 'it seems' in the case of written English and narratives. Lastly, the contrastive analysis has shown that when 'I think' is used with deontic modalities such as 'I think I have to', Korean use '-a-ya-get-': the use of hedge marker 'I think' with 'I have to', which shows obligation or speaker's volition turns the deontic modalities into expressions of speaker's opinion.
It is very important to understand and interpret the meaning of the sigma level correctly through the Six Sigma project. Especially, the confusion over the relation between sigma level from the short-term point of view and defective proportion or DPMO from the long-term point of view may make a big gap between expected results of the Six Sigma project and real results in the field. The one-tail approximation is commonly used to calculate the sigma level both in most literatures introducing Six Sigma and actual cases of the Six Sigma project. Since the one-tail approximation undervalues the sigma level of the fields such as business and service of which the sigma level is generally low, however. there can be misleading results of the explanation of the sigma level and inappropriate project evaluation. This paper describes the relation between sigma level and defective proportion in detail and clears the difference between the one-tail and two-tail approximation.

This study suggest the improvement of the CFRP adhesive mixing ratio about acoustic window to enhance SONAR performance. The CFRP of submarine is produced by allocation an acoustic window zone by the beam width of SONAR sensors. During the sea trial, SONAR system's bearing and range accuracy data is not in tolerance due to debonding phenomenon on CFRP. The inappropriate mixing ratio of adhesives caused that peeling phenomenon occurred in the acoustic window part, which is the reason for the deterioration of SONAR sensors performance. The report includes explanation of test procedure of SONAR, root cause analysis, CFRP manufacturing procedure, laboratory tests results, and proof of the performance at the sea trial.
The purpose of this study was to assess preschool children's understanding of contagion and their use of immanent justice explanation for illness and accidents, 124 children (66 four-year-olds and 58 five-year-olds) were interviewed individually by two female interviewers. The data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$ and correlation. Preliminary analyses revealed no significant sex and age differences: Therefore, the data were collapsed across sex and age for all further analyses. The results showed that preschool children have a concept of contagion as a cause of illness, and they understand the effect of distance between people on the likelihood of transmitting contagious ailments. They overextend the concept of contagion to inappropriate ailments: that is, to noncontagious illnesses and to accidents. They employed immanent justice explanations for all illnesses (contagious and noncontagious) and accidents.The use of immanent justice was inversely related to application of the concept of contagion.
The study aimed to perform the qualitative analysis of food and nutrition informations offered in TV program by monitoring newscastings, health-related programs giving food and nutrition information, dramas for family, education programs for children, and information programs for elderly in major TV broadcasting station(KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS). In this study, statistical analysis were done for numbers of information items related to health or food and nutrition informations. Duration of program the main, subject, sources, evaluation criteria of the contents. Results of qualitative monitoring for TV program are as follows. For health-related informations major propotions of subjects for the newscastings were about diseases. Those for health information programs were about foods. Those for children-education programs were about groceries. Those for seniors’ information programs were about eating habits. The analysis of food and nutrition information sources for most of programs were interviews with specialist and normal person, and on-the-spot-investingations. For food and nutrition informations those were evaluated as inappropriate, the propotion of news was increased to 72.2% in 2003 from 49.3% in 2002. For health information programs, it was increased to 67.7% in 2003 from 54.0% in 2002. But, in drama the propotion of inappropriate scenes were decreased to 16.2% in 2003 from 63.2% in 2002. In children-education programs, it was 40.0%. In seniors’ information programs, it was 17.9% in 2002. The propotion of cases that the quantity of foods is inappropriate in the food scene of serial drama, decreased to 15.8% in 2003 from 28.6% in 2002. The rate of drinking scenes increased to 11.5% from 10.7%. The rate of smoking scenes decreased to 0.2% from 1.6% due to the broadcasting self-regulation of smoking scenes in dramas. In the newscatings and information programs, reasons of being evaluated as inappropriate was that they didn’t have any practical suggestions and proper intakes. There were also insufficient explanation for technical terminology, different comparison standard of nutritive value, and exaggeration for physiological effect of food. The drama contained a lot of unnecessary scenes of alcohol drinking, coffee drinking, midnight meal, and had more quantity of foods than the quantity needed for persons to the scene. As the result of this study, the rate of food and nutrition information were high, but the rate of information which was evaluate as appropriate was not sufficient. There are need to improve contents of information and to moniter the contents for consumer.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the conceptual simulation observed when students are thinking about the causes of the seasonal change, identifying how students come up with the explanation. For this study, a framework for conceptual simulation process and strategy based on literary research was developed and its validity was proved by four experts in the field of science education. The results were as in the following: First, through the process of explaining the causes for seasonal change, students usually base their explanation on perceptual experience learned from model experiments from a science class. Besides, construct of thought experiment using the familiar object or analogize of the familiar perceptual experience. These all contributed to on explanation firmly. Second, errors from mental simulation were found in the statement of initial representation and running imagistic simulation. It happened when statement of initial representation is not in a complete and secure state or when participants think of an inappropriate situation during running imagistic simulation. Third, the study identified that the use of strategies like 'removal' and 'replace' was shown to enhance the effects of conceptual simulation particularly in regard with solar attitude at meridian passage.

This study reports a preliminary finding of the types and numbers of graphs being presented in the annual reports of about thirty top listed companies trading publicly in the stock markets of three countries-Thailand (SET), Malaysia (BM), and Singapore (SGX)-that were chosen based on their inclusion in the ASEAN Stars Index under the ASEAN Trading Link project. A total of 6,753 graphs from nineteen sectors were extracted and examined. Banking, real estate, and telecommunications are ranked the three most condense sectors, accounting for 50.2% of the total number of graphs observed. The three most used graphs are the Conservative Bar, Donut graph and Stack Bar. Less than one percent of Infographic type graphs were used. The five most depicted graphed variables are Asset, Revenue, Net profit, Liability, and Dividend. Using rudimentary framework to detect distorted or misleading statistical graphs, the study found 60.6% of the graphs distorted across the three markets, SET, BM, and SGX. BM ranked first in percentages of graphs being distortedly presented (73%). The other two markets, SET and SGX, have about the same proportions, 53.88% and 53.03%, respectively. Likewise, the proportions of Well-designed versus Inappropriate-designed graphs of the latter two markets are a little over one time (SET = 1 : 1.17; SGX = 1 : 1.13), whereas the proportion is almost triple for the BM market (BM = 1 : 2.70). In addition, the trend of distorted graphs found is slightly increasing as the longevity of the ASEAN Stars Index increases. One possible explanation for the relatively equal proportion of inappropriate graphs found is that SET is the smallest market and SGX, though the largest, is the most regulated market. BM, on the other hand, may want to present their financial data in the most attractive manner to prospective investors, thus, regulatory constraints and governance structure are still lenient.
