휴대용 압력파 발생장치를 사용한 단일관로에서의 누수탐지 연구 (Study of leak detection in a pipeline system using a portable pressure wave generator)

  • This paper suggests a nonlinear pressure consideration scheme through an unsteady pipe network analyzer for leakage detection with a portable pressure wave generator. In order to evaluate the performance of a proposal scheme, linear input pattern has been simulated and experiments had been carried out under both no leakage and one leakage conditions in a reservoir-pipeline-valve system. This method using portable pressure wave generator showed that a leakage can be detected from a reflection where a leakage is originated through time domain analysis. Meaningful similarity in pressure response between nonlinear input pattern and experimental results were found both no leakage and a leakage conditions.

  • In this paper, leakage current sensing module of SoC(System on Chip)type and real time monitoring system under consideration of electromagnetic interface in power trunk line are developed. The first, leakage current sensing module of SoC type under consideration of electromagnetic interface is developed, and the developed sensing module of SoC type is composed of leakage sensing part, power supply part, interface part, communication part, AD(Alternating current to Direct current)convert part and amplification part. And also the electromagnetic compatibility is evaluated by conduction and radiation of EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) for developed sensing module. The developed system can have confidence, stability and do energy saving under mixed electric circumstance of the low voltage communication device and high voltage equipment. The second, the real time remote monitoring system is developed using designed wire and wireless communication module with leakage current sensing module of SoC type. The developed real time remote monitoring system can monitor sensing state, occurrence state of leakage current and alarm for each step etc.. And the device configuration, PCB layout for leakage current sensing module of system on chip type and the experiment configuration in consideration of EMI are presented. Also the measurement results of conduction and radiation for EMI are presented.

  • Lining systems are used for two purpose in landfills : as covers to minimize leachate generation and surface water contamination by providing a barrier from precipitation and other percolating waters, and as containment liners to contain leachate and minimize its downward migration into underlying groundwater. So identifying leaks in landfill liners is an essential part of waste management. There are many leakage detection systems to monitor and seek leakage location, such as two electrode method, electrode grid method, diffusion hoses, capacitance sensors and tracers sensing cables. However, most of them can be applied in the new landfill construction sites because sensors must be installed prior to work. This paper presents a new type of leakage detection system, so called fence type electrode arrangement system, to monitor leakage and to seek leakage location in working landfill as well as new landfill. This system is based on the measurement of an electrical current flowing through leakage point. Series of laboratory tests are performed to investigate an availability of this system and this paper present some of these results.

A method to prevent cerebrospinal fluid leakage: Reinforcing acellular dermal matrix

  • In neurosurgical cases, problems related to wound healing can vary from simple wound dehiscence to multilayer defects. This study demonstrates an effective method to prevent persistent cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage using reinforcing acellular dermal matrix in neurosurgical patients with wound dehiscence. A 52-year-old woman was admitted for management of recurrent glioblastoma. After tumor removal surgery, the patient experienced sustained CSF leakage from the wound despite reparative attempts. The plastic surgery team performed wound repair procedure after remnant tumor removal by the neurosurgery team. Acellular dermal matrix was applied over the mesh plate to prevent CSF leakage and the postoperative status of the patient was evaluated. No sign of CSF leakage was found in the immediate postoperative period. After 3 years, there were no complications including CSF leakage, wound dehiscence, and infection. We hereby propose this method as a feasible therapeutic alternative for preventing CSF leakage in patients experiencing wound problem after neurosurgical procedures.

누설전류측정에 의한 피뢰기 열화진단에 있어 전원고조파의 영향 (Influence of Harmonics in Power System Voltage on Arrester Deterioration Diagnostics by Leakage Current Measurement)

  • Arresters are deteriorated by overvoltages or impulse currents, and the resistive leakage current of arresters increases as the deterioration of the arrester progresses, showing an increase in the 3$^{rd}$ harmonic component of the leakage current. In this reason, arrester diagnostic techniques based on the 3$^{rd}$ harmonic leakage current as a reference parameter of deterioration are widely used. The technique, however, includes an error due to the harmonics of power system voltage. Therefore, the influence of the harmonics on arrester diagnostics should be considered. In this paper, we designed a PSpice ZnO arrester model to simulate the influence of the voltage harmonics described above. A pure sinusoidal voltage and its the 3r harmonic voltage were applied to the model, and the leakage current components were analyzed. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the peak value of resistive leakage current depends not only on the phase of the 3$^{rd}$ harmonic voltage but also on the magnitude of it. Consequently, the errors caused 1)y the harmonic voltage could be minimized by correcting the magnitude of leakage current upon analyzing the harmonics.cs.

상수도 관망에서의 경제적인 누수관리목표 산정 방안 연구 (A Study on Setting Methods of Economic Level of Leakage in Water Pipe Networks)

  • The estimation method of economical leakage management target utilized upon planning business for improvement of revenue water ratio in South Korea is presented and applicability of methods developed in this study is assessed through application on site. With a consideration of revenue water ratio in application target area, estimation method of long-term economical leakage management target is applied. Three leakage reduction methods such as replacement of residual aged pipe, leakage investigation and restoration and water pressure management are applied with a consideration of characteristics of site. Due to difficulty of obtaining data, analysis of cost/benefit by leakage reduction methods is performed by applying method of leakages estimation equation among statistical methods. As a result of application, revenue water ratio corresponding to long-term economical leakage management target is 91.6 %.

Minimal Leakage Pattern Generator

  • This paper proposes a new input pattern generator for minimal leakage power in the nanometer CMOS technology considering all the leakage current components (sub-threshold leakage, gate tunneling leakage, band-to-band tunneling leakage). Using the accurate macro-model, a heuristic algorithm is developed to generate a input pattern for the minimum leakage. The algorithm applies to ISCAS85 benchmark circuits, and the results are compared with the results of Hspice. The simulation result shows that our method's accuracy is within a 5% difference of the Hspice simulation results. In addition, the simulation time of our method is far faster than that of the Hspice simulation.

자체 윤활 피스톤 씨일 링의 가스 누출과 마찰에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Gas Leakage and Friction of the Self-lubricating Piston Seal Rings)

  • Present study was undertaken to investigate the leakage and friction of self-lubricating piston seal rings. A crank-piston type gas leakage test set-up was constructed. The piston rings were made of PTFE-polyimide composite. The free gap configurations of the seal rings were butt and step types. Eccentric tension rings were used to give the seal rings prepressure between the seal rings and cylinder wall. Two sizes of the tension rings were installed to investigate their effect on the gas leakage and friction of the seal rings. The results showed that step type seal rings are superior than the butt types. High tension spring rings resulted in low leakage and high friction loss. In order to reduce the gas leakage and friction loss of the piston seal rings, there should be compromise between the number of ring stages and prepressure of the tension rings.

  • For investigation of surface leakage currrent of AlGaN/GaN heterostructures through etched GaN buffer surface and mesa wall, three kind of surface-leakage-test-patterns were fabricated. and we measured the surface leakage current of each patterns. In result of our work, the surface leakage current of pattern of which Schottky contact is formed on etched mesa wall is the largest. the leakage current through schottky contact on etched mesa wall is predominant in AlGaN/GaN heterostructures.

종합계수 K에 의한 누설변압기의 등가회로 (Equivelent Circuit of Leakage Transformer using coupling Coefficient K)

  • The coupling coefficient K controls the characteristic behaviors of leakage transformer. The value of coupling coefficient K was obtained from th leakage flux of leakage transformer an ascertained from the variation due to the function of current. Therefore, this paper presented the equivalent circuit of leakage transformer consisting of Thevenin's constant voltage source and inductor as (1-K2)L2 which were proportional to parameter K. The proposed equivalent circuit verified the validity in designing the leakage transformer because it was in good agreements of the behaviors of ideal transformer (K is 1), leakage transformer (K is 0$\leq$K$\leq$1), inductor (K is 0).
