  • Operation of wind turbines has impacts on the voltage quantity at the connected electricity network. Increasing penetration of wind energy makes necessary to study the power quality regarding voltage variations(sag, swell, interruption) and presence of harmonics in the id. This paper investigates the voltage quality of low voltage customers connected to wind generation system. To study the influences of wind power generation to low voltage power system, voltage data are collected in three house using PQM(Power Quality Monitoring) equipment during one month and analyzed regarding voltage variation and harmonics

  • This purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology for optimal generating operation in power system to minimize the cost of generation subject to not only system constraints but also regional $CO_2$ emission constraints. To solve this ELD problem calculated range limit on minimum and maximum power outputs by regional Equal Generator how each regional capacity is connected into one and expressed Equal Fuel Cost Function considering regional $CO_2$ emission constraints. Accordingly, being modified regional load, new power outputs considering regional $CO_2$ emission constraints were calculated by ELD. The proposed model for evaluating availability is tested on IEEE RTS(Reliability Test System)-24 in detail.

  • Photovoltaic is an attractive technology to remote power applications, because of its reliability, low maintenance, and zero fuel requirements. In this paper represents residential PV system based on BESS(battery energy storage system) for managing the electric power, a pattern of daily operation considering the load characteristics of the house, the generation characteristics of PV power, and utility power leveling. For apply to control algorithm, we consider the load on monthly power consumption trend and daily usage pattern. As for the control of the proposed system, to increase the conversion efficiency of the PV power, bidirectional converter is used for MPPT and SPWM inverter. An experimental system is implemented, and some experimental results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • Recently, because of the depletion of fossil fuels and the environmental pollution by using fossil fuels and harmfulness of atomic power plants. the interests concerning new and renewable energy resources are rising increasingly. And of all new and renewable energy sources the PV generation systems are recognized as the most useful and desirable renewable energy source in allowance for installation conditions. In this development, the 3kWp photovoltaic power generation system is realized to verify the performance of the 3kWp PCS developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (HHI). The photovoltaic array used in this system is composed of 60 modules of 50Wp capacity. The developed system is tested as procedures and items of test regulation recognized by governmen and the experimental results show the excellent electrical characteristics. Now, the 3kWp PCS developed is installed in the PV model house built in HHI plant and is being tested for practical use commercialization.

  • There are many problems for the rural old peoples who to use the rural houses practically with physical and mental disabilities to make use of them because the rural houses have a tendency to look alike the urban houses. Today the rural old peoples are treated distantly by the boundary of national reserved power to make and activate their facilities, the shortness of their economically surplus power and the absence nationally social security system in spite of their physical and mental disabilities. So it is necessary for us to remodel symmetrically their rural houses to fit their physical and mental disabilities to spend comfortable living and to develop structure remodeling programs and space reorganization programs of the rural handicapped old peoples' houses to support independent life to correspond with their physical and mental disabilities.

공동주택의 판상형과 타워형 에너지 성능 비교 분석 (Energy Performance Analysis the Common House Pansang Type and Tower)

  • This study focus on the analysis of the energy performance in accordance with apartment houses arrangement type by using Ecotect Analysis. Korea, energy-poor country, the rate of dependence on imports amount to 94%, have to reduce energy consumption part of building except in industry and transport which affect the economic. Apartment houses are built in various forms in order to reduce energy, are modelled in each window area ratio, shape, orientation, climate through simulation. Through this study, we can analyze energy performance by form, window area ratio, orientation, climate change and know the optimal elements by the form. In particular, although there have been studied research on the window area ratio and research related to the arrangement form, determined that the information on the regional climate characteristics and the direction of placement is less than existing research. To supplement those problem, adding to seven direction(West, S-60-W, S-30-W, South, S-30-E, S-60-E, East) and climatic element(southern region) is characteristic of this study. The form of apartment houses was modelled for apartment houses built in the 10 years since. And each modeling were analyzed by Ecotect Analysis.

전력선 통신을 이용한 가정용 원격 검침 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Home Telemetering System using Power Line Communication)

  • In this Paper telemetering system for home automation is Proposed and implemented. Proposed and developed systems are composed with a home server and a few clients which send metering data of gas electric power water and home security to home server using power line communication. Management computer located in office of apartment complex collects all kinds of measured home data from each home server with multi drop communication by UDP Protocol A simple ASK method is used for power line communication Collected data from each home can be used for issuing the bill of each house and web service. The experiments were carried out under laboratory environment using various kinds of electric home appliances to ascertain the performance.

  • In this study, through portion of the blind control which the user can adjust the deration and the main loads, night for energy reduction during the review of the energy difference between the cooling and heating load periods in order to present the best operation schedules of the blind control. The result, Cooling period, the venetian blind is installed the day or the day and night CASE adjusted to $0^{\circ}$ was identified as optimal for the operating schedule. Heating period, the day, without installed the blinds, the Venetian blind is installed only at night CASE adjusted to $0^{\circ}$ or $45^{\circ}$ angle of the slats, which have been identified as optimal for the operating schedule.

  • The purpose of this study is on the thermal performance evaluation of KIER Zero Energy Solar House-II, called ZeSH-II which can be sustained with the support of a very few energy. This ZeSH-II was designed and constructed in the end of 2009 to develop for the goal of 70% self-sufficiency. Several key technologies like as the super insulation, high performance window, wast heat recovery system as well as solar power and thermal system and geo-source heat pump wear used for this ZeSH-II. The monitering of ZeSH-II was conducted for six months from November 2009 to April 2010. The monthly energy consumption was calculated based on the monitering results. As a result, the ZeSH-II shows that the energy self-sufficiency during six months(from oct. to apr.) is about 80% which is higher than that of the target.

Choosing an optimal connecting place of a nuclear power plant to a power system using Monte Carlo and LHS methods

  • The location selection for nuclear power plants (NPP) is a strategic decision, which has significant impact operation of the plant and sustainable development of the region. Further, the ranking of the alternative locations and selection of the most suitable and efficient locations for NPPs is an important multi-criteria decision-making problem. In this paper, the non-sequential Monte Carlo probabilistic method and the Latin hypercube sampling probabilistic method are used to evaluate and select the optimal locations for NPP. These locations are identified by the power plant's onsite loads and the average of the lowest number of relay protection after the NPP's trip, based on electricity considerations. The results obtained from the proposed method indicate that in selecting the optimal location for an NPP after a power plant trip with the purpose of internal onsite loads of the power plant and the average of the lowest number of relay protection power system, on the IEEE RTS 24-bus system network given. This paper provides an effective and systematic study of the decision-making process for evaluating and selecting optimal locations for an NPP.
