유한관내에서 축류팬 후류 및 해석 (Analysis of Wake and Noise of a Fan in Finite Duct)

  • The present work describes the prediction method for the unsteady flow field and the acoustic pressure field of a ducted axial fan. The prediction method is comprised of time-marching free-wake method, acoustic analogy. and the Helmholtz-Kirchhoff BEM. The predicted sound signal of a rotor is similar to the experiment one. We assume that the rotor rotates with a constant angular velocity and the flow field around the rotor is incompressible and inviscid. Then, a time-marching free-wake method is used to model the fan and to calculate the flow field. The force of each element on the blade is calculated by the unsteady Bernoulli equation. Lawson's method is used to predict the acoustic source. The newly developed Helmholtz-Kirchhoff BEM for thin body is used to calculate the sound field of the ducted fan. The ducted fan with 6 blades is analysed and the sound field around the duct is calculated.

A Multi-megawatt Long Pulse Ion Source of Neutral Beam Injector for the KSTAR

  • A multi-megawatt long pulse ion source (LPIS) of neutral beam injector was developed for the KSTAR. Beam extraction experiments of the LPIS were carried out at the neutral beam test stand (NBTS). Design requirements for the ion source were 120 kV/65 A deuterium beam and a 300 s pulse length. A maximum ion density of $9.1310^{11}$ $cm^{-3}$ was measured by using electric probes, and an optimum arc efficiency of 0.46 A/kW was estimated with ion saturation current of the probes, arc power, and total beam area. An arcing problem, caused by the structural defect of decelerating grid supporter, in the third gap was solved by the blocking of backstream ion particles, originated from the plasma in the neutralizer duct, through the unnecessary spaces on the side of grid supporter. A maximum drain power of 1.5 MW (i.e. 70 kV/21 A) with hydrogen was measured for a pulse duration of 0.5 s. Optimum beam perveance was ranged from 0.75 to 0.85. An improved design of accelerator for the effective control of beam particle trajectory should provide higher beam perveance.

  • In this paper, achieved rise temperature distribution about degradation phenomenon of 24 MVA distribution cast resin transformer using CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics). Usually, life of transformer is depended on temperature distribution of specification region than thermal special quality of transformer interior. Specially, life of transformer by decline of dielectric strength decreases rapidly in case rise by strangeness transformer interior hot spot temperature value permits. Because calculating high-voltage(HV) winding and low-voltage(LV) winding of cast resin transformer and Joule's loss of core for improvement these life, forecasted heat source, and HV winding and LV winding of cast transformer rise temperature distribution of core for supply of electric power and temperature distribution of highest point on the basis of the results. Also, calculated temperature rise limit of cast resin transformer and permission maximum temperature using analysis by electromagnetic heat source. Calculated and forecasted rise temperature distribution by heat source of thermal analysis with calculated result.

  • HVAC systems are used to maintain comfort conditions in occupied spaces. Like rolling noise and aerodynamic noise, noise from the HVAC system of train increases interior noise level. For an appropriate interior noise level, it is necessary not to find noise sources and their propagation paths. Noise emission from the sources and propagation through the propagation paths should be regulated in order to reduce their effect to the interior noise level. In general, the main noise source in the HVAC system is blower which operates at high static pressure. This noise propagates through ducts which are directly connected to the residential area. Since the blower noise can be reduced only to some degree, it is necessary for the propagation paths to have enough noise attenuation. Acoustic properties of ducts are usually found by experimental methods but it is rather difficult and expensive to set up such test equipments. In this thesis, the design and the noise characteristics of TGV-K HVAC system are studied. Finite element method in accordance with experimental method is used to study the acoustic properties of TGV-K duct system.

대형 변압기의 밀폐장치용 소음기 개발 (Development of a Silencer for an Acoustic Enclosure of a Large Transformer)

  • An acoustic total or partial enclosure is widely used to reduce the sound pressure level propagating from a noise source. However, the performance of the acoustic enclosure is decreased by its inherent limitations such as temperature rise or acoustic pressure build up inside the enclosed acoustic field. In general, a silencer is installed to overcome these limitations, for large amount of air can be exchanged through the silencers. In this reason, a parallel baffle type duct silencer with acoustic resonators is studied to reduce the transmitted noise from a transformer. In this silencer, the high frequency components of the transmitted noise over 360Hz are effectively absorbed by the parallel baffles and the other ones, 120 and 240 Hz, are reduced due to the presence of Helmholtz resonators. Large sound attenuation is achieved by applying the sound resonating barrier to the large transformers in a substation.

  • The poblem of active oise control has been analysed using a adaptive signal processing technique. In this methods, the adaptive signal processor or model predicts the primary sound wave travelling along the acoustic plant and generates the secondary source 180° out of phase which attempts to attempts to attenuate the undesired noise by destructive interference. In the solutions presented here, acoustic propagation delay is considered as a part of the model which used the FIR filter. The effects of error path and auxiliary path transfer functioin are anayzed and a new on=-line technique for error path modeling, adaptive delayed inverse modeling is presented. In this study, using these new concepts, our system can more reduce the noise level in duct to 5dB-15dB than only using LMS algorithm system.

소형위성 발사체용 추진제 가압 열교환기 설계 해석 (Heat Exchanger Design Analysis for Propellant Pressurizing System of Satellite Launch Vehicles)

  • A heated and expanded helium is used to pressurize liquid propellants in propellant tanks of propulsion system of liquid propellant launch vehicles. To produce a heated and expanded helium, an hot-gas heat exchanger is used by utilizing heat source from an exhausted gas, which was generated in a gas generator to operate turbine of turbo-pump and dumped out through an exhaust duct of engine. Both experimental and numerical approaches of hot-gas heat exchanger design were conducted in the present study. Experimentally, siliconites - electrical resistance types - were used to simulate the full heat condition instead of an exhausted gas. Cryogenic heat exchangers, which were immersed in a liquid nitrogen pool, were used to feed cryogenic gaseous helium in a hot-gas heat exchanger. Numerical simulation was made using commercially utilized solver - Fluent V.6.0 - to validate experimental results. Helically coiled stainless steel pipe and stainless steel exhausted duct were consisted of tetrahedron unstructured mesh. Helium was a working fluid Inside helical heat coil and regarded as an ideal gas. Realizable k-』 turbulent modeling was adopted to take turbulent mixing effects in consideration. Comparisons between experimental results and numerical solutions are Presented. It is observed that a resulted hot-gas heat exchanger design is reliable based on the comparison of both results.

하이브리드 자동차 구동시스템용 냉각 유로 최적화에 관한 연구 (OPTIMAL DESIGN FOR COOLING SYSTEM OF DRIVING UNITS FOR HYBRID VEHICLES)

  • The cooling system for electric devices of hybrid vehicles is examined. The present system is composed of coolant paths, inlet diffuser and heat sinks whose shapes are diamond and circular. In this work, inlet duct and fin arrays are combined in proposed models and examined by numerical calculations. Nusselt number and Reynolds number are considered for heat transfer performance. Main focus lies on the looking for optimal model for the cooling system adopted to compact driving module of a hybrid vehicle. The optimal model shows uniform flow patterns in the inlet diffuser and secondary flows after the fins attached to heat source. It is found that the vortical flows around the heat sinks are effective for heat removal mechanism.

닥트내 소음의 능동제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Active Noise Control in Duct)

  • 원형관의 닥트를 사용하여 1 차원 구동원으로써 라우드스피커와 환기용 팬을 사용하여 각종 알고리즘인 X-LMS 알고리즘과 Filtered-U 알고리즘 그리고 Full-Feedback Filtered-U 알고리즘으로 구성한 DSP 적응필터를 작동시켜 닥트에 적용할 수 있는 능동소음 제어시스템 실현의 가능성에 대하여 여러 가지 실험을 하였다. 1 차 구동원을 환기용 팬을 사용할 때 2 차 제어용 신호가 환기용 팬에 가까이 있는 탐지 마이크로폰에 혼입되는 현상을 고려한 Full-Feedback Filtered-U LMS 알고리즘을 능동제어 시스템에 적용하여 적응제어 필터를 작동하면 시스템이 발산되지 않고 안정상태에서 주파수 범위 170-250Hz 사이에서 다른 알고리즘에 비하여 소음량이 최대치에서 10dB 정도 감소되었다.

TRNOPT를 이용한 수직 지중열교환기 길이 산정 방법에 관한 연구 (Sizing of Vertical Borehole Heat Exchangers using TRNOPT)

  • Ground-coupled heat pump systems have been widely used, as they are regarded as a renewable energy source and ensure a high annual efficiency. Among the system components, borehole heat exchangers (BHE) play an important role in decreasing the entering water temperature (EWT) to heat pumps in the cooling season, and consequently improve the COP. The optimal sizing of the BHEs is crucial for a successful project. Other than the existing sizing methods, a simulation-based design tool is more applicable for modern complex geothermal systems, and it may also be useful since design and engineering works operate on the same platform. A simulation-based sizing method is proposed in this study using the well-known Duct STorage (DST) model in Trnsys. TRNOPT, the Trnsys optimization tool, is used to search for an optimal value of the length of BHEs under given ground loads and ground properties. The result shows that a maximum EWT of BHEs during a design period (10 years) successfully approaches the design EWT while providing an optimal BHE length. Compared to the existing design tool, very similar lengths are calculated by both methods with a small error of 1.07%.
