Compact Binaries Ejected from Globular Clusters as GW Sources

  • Based on N-body simulations, we find out that significant fraction of dynamically formed BH-BH (10 $M_{\odot}$ and NS-NS (1.4 $M_{\odot$ ecah) binaries are ejected from globular clusters. About 30 percent of compact stars are ejected in the form of binary. The merging time of ejected binary depends on the velocity dispersion of globular cluster. Some of ejected binaries have merging time-scales shorter than Hubble time and are expected to produce gravitational waves that can be detectable by the advanced ground-based interferometers. The merger rates of ejected BH-BH and NS-NS binaries per globular cluster are estimated to be 3.5 and 17 per Gyr, respectively. Assuming the spatial density of globular clusters as 8.4 $h^3$ clusters $Mpc^{-3}$ and extrapolating to the horizon distance of the advanced LIGO-Virgo network, we expect the detection rates solely attributed to BH-BH and NS-NS with cluster origin are to be 42 and 1.7 $yr^{-1}$, respectively. Besides, we find out that BH-NS binary ejection hardly occurs in globular clusters and dynamically formed compact binaries may possibly be the source of short GRBs whose locations are far from host galaxies.

  • In this paper, we perform a simulation study of genetic model-free age-of-onset methods in linkage tests which has been proposed by Zhu et al. (1997). They performe. Haseman-Elston regression on a set of bipolar pedigree data using each of three dependent variables: a binary trait indicating disease concordance or discordance, a binary trait adjusted for age-of-onset, and the residuals from a survival analysis. We compare the powers of the proposed test statistics for various situations. Simulations that we have carried out show that the gains in power are observed when the residuals from a survival analysis are used in linkage tests.

  • The objective of this study was to depict the kinetic behavior of the platinum catalyst for the deep oxidation of aromatic solvents and their binary mixtures. The oxidation kinetics of aromatic solvents, which were benzene, toluene and m-xylene, was studied on a 0.5% $Pt/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ catalyst. Deep oxidation of binary mixtures, which were 1:1 in volume, was carried out and the inlet concentration was controlled in the range of 133 and 333ppmv. An approach based on the two-stage redox model was used to analysis the results. The deep oxidation conversion of aromatic solvents was inversely proportional to inlet concentration in plug flow reactor. This trend is due to the zeroth-order kinetics with respect to inlet concentration. The kinetic parameters of multicomponent model were independently evaluated from the single compound oxidation experiments. A simple multicomponent model based on two-stage redox rate model made reasonably good predictions of conversion over the range of parameters studied.

  • 고등식물의 형질전환용 유전자운반체로써 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 Ti-plasmid를 이용해서 당근세포를 형질 전환시키기 위한 연구의 일환으로 Agrobacterium spp를 helper로 이용하여 NPT II gene를 함유하고 있는 binary vector GA472를 당근세포에 삽입시켜 kanamycin에 대해 저항성을 나타내는 세포주를 선발하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 국내 토양에서 선발한 A.tumefaciens 2종과 disarmes된 PC2760 그리고 hypervirulent균주인 A281에 tri-parental mating 방법에 의해서 binary vector인 pGA472을 도입하여 transconjungants인 A. tumefaciens c-23-1/pGA472,K29-1/pGA472, PC2760/PGA472 그리고 A281/pGA472를 획득하였다. Transconjungants는 plasmid의 분리, 정제방법에 의해서 추출한 후 0.7% agarose gel 상에서 관찰해 본 결과 4균주 공히 NTPII gene이 삽입된 pGA472와 Ti-plasmid를 함유하고 있는 것을 확인 하였다. 확인된 conjugant와 당근정상조직을 동시배양방법에 의해서 형질전환을 유도한 후 정상조직은 전혀 생존이 되지않은 kanamycin에 대해서 저항을 나타내는 callus를 선발할 수 있었다.

Synthesis of binary Cu-Se and In-Se nanoparticle inks using cherry blossom gum for CuInSe2 thin film solar cell applications

  • Selenium (Se)-rich binary Cu-Se and In-Se nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by a modified heat-up method at low temperature ($110^{\circ}C$) using the gum exudates from a cherry blossom tree. Coating of CISe absorber layer was carried out using Se-rich binary Cu-Se and In-Se NPs ink without the use of any external binder. Our results indicated that the gum used in the synthesis played beneficial roles such as reducing and capping agent. In addition, the gum also served as a natural binder in the coating of CISe absorber layer. The CISe absorber layer was integrated into the solar cell, which showed a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 0.37%. The possible reasons for low PCE of the present solar cells and the steps needed for further improvement of PCE were discussed. Although the obtained PCE is low, the present strategy opens a new path for the fabrication of eco-friendly CISe NPs solar cell by a relatively chief non-vacuum method.

편측 분기형 러너 배열을 가진 다수 캐비티 사출금형에서의 충전 불균형도 (The Filling Imbalance in Multi-Cavity Injection Molds with Unary Branch Type Runner Lay-out)

  • Almost all injection molds have multi-cavity runner system fur productivity and are designed with geometrically balanced runner system in order to minimize filling imbalance between cavity to cavity during processing. However, filling imbalances have been observed though geometrically balanced runner lay-out. Generally, these filling imbalances are due to thermal unbalance, viscosity, characteristic of polymers and so on. These kinds of filling imbalances have already been reported by Beaumont since 1997, but his research has mainly focused on filling imbalance at binary runner. In this study, we conducted an experimental study about the filling imbalances in unary branch runner as well as binary branch runner and inquired into the causes of filling imbalances. The results could be summarized as fellowing: Filling imbalances existed in multi-cavity mold with unary branch runner, it could be decreased by optimizing processing condition such as increasing injection rate, and it is almost proportion to each polymer's temperature sensibility.

  • 바이너리 유사도 분석은 취약점 분석, 악성코드 분석, 표절 탐지 등에서 사용되고 있는데, 분석대상 함수가 알려진 안전한 함수와 동일하다는 것을 증명해주면 바이너리 코드의 악성행위 분석, 취약점 분석 등의 효율성을 높이는 데에 도움이 될 수 있다. 하지만 기존에는 동일 함수의 서로 다른 버전에 대한 유사도 분석에 대해서 별도로 이루어진 연구가 거의 없었다. 본 논문에서는 바이너리로부터 추출 가능한 함수 정보들을 바탕으로 다양한 방법을 통해 함수 단위의 유사도를 분석하고 적은 시간으로 효율적으로 분석할 수 있는 방안을 모색한다. 특히 OpenSSL 라이브러리의 서로 다른 버전을 대상으로 분석을 수행하여 버전이 다른 경우에도 유사한 함수를 탐지하는 것을 확인한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 양자암호 시스템의 설계과정에서 필연적으로 사용되는 의사난수들의 비트열들이 다수개 존재하는 현상과 이를 상호 공개된 채널에서 부분정보를 공유해야 하는 상황은 비트열들의 쌍을 노출시킨다. 본고에서는 이러한 의사난수 열의 기본 테스트 과정과 이를 벗어나는 이진 병합 비트열의 난수성에 대하여 살펴본다.

  • 인터넷 라우터에서의 패킷 포워딩은 라우팅 테이블에 저장되어 있는 다양한 길이의 프리픽스들 중, 입력된 패킷의 목적지 주소와 가장 길게 일치하는 프리픽스를 찾아 그 프리픽스가 지정하는 출력 포트로 입력된 패킷을 내 보내주는 일련의 과정을 말한다. 패킷 포워딩 속도의 관건은 IP 주소 검색 성능이라 할 수 있는데, 고속의 IP 주소 검색을 제공하기 위해서는 포워딩 테이블을 저장하기 위한 효율적인 데이타 구조 및 우수한 검색 알고리즘이 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이진 검색 트리를 이용한 주소 검색 알고리즘에 주목한다. 기존에 나와 있는 모든 이진 검색 알고리즘은 균형 검색을 제공하지 못하여 효율적이지 못하고, 프리픽스 영역에 대한 이진 검색 알고리즘은 균형 검색을 제공하나 프리픽스 개수보다 많은 수의 포워딩 엔트리를 저장하여 또한 효율적이지 못하다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 IP 주소 검색을 위하여 완전 균형 트리 구조를 만들어 이진 검색을 수행하는 알고리즘을 제안하고, 그 성능을 평가하여 기존의 다른 주소 검색 알고리즘과 비교한다. 성능 평가 결과 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘은 메모리 요구량의 증가 없이 검색 속도가 매우 향상됨을 보았다.

A Model for Machine Fault Diagnosis based on Mutual Exclusion Theory and Out-of-Distribution Detection

  • The primary task of machine fault diagnosis is to judge whether the current state is normal or damaged, so it is a typical binary classification problem with mutual exclusion. Mutually exclusive events and out-of-domain detection have one thing in common: there are two types of data and no intersection. We proposed a fusion model method to improve the accuracy of machine fault diagnosis, which is based on the mutual exclusivity of events and the commonality of out-of-distribution detection, and finally generalized to all binary classification problems. It is reported that the performance of a convolutional neural network (CNN) will decrease as the recognition type increases, so the variational auto-encoder (VAE) is used as the primary model. Two VAE models are used to train the machine's normal and fault sound data. Two reconstruction probabilities will be obtained during the test. The smaller value is transformed into a correction value of another value according to the mutually exclusive characteristics. Finally, the classification result is obtained according to the fusion algorithm. Filtering normal data features from fault data features is proposed, which shields the interference and makes the fault features more prominent. We confirm that good performance improvements have been achieved in the machine fault detection data set, and the results are better than most mainstream models.
