The purpose of this study is to improve indoor air quality of the barracks which have been changed from floor-type living barracks to bed-type living barracks since 2003. Therefore, the ventilation rates of newly constructed two type barracks were simulated with the various building materials including VOCs and HCHO components. And indoor air quality of two type living barracks was measured by the field experiments. With these steps, the measures for upgrading indoor air quality depending on building material types and ventilation rate are suggested.

The motor function was measured by using motor assessment scale (MAS) and ADL, the level of pain were recorded both before and after physical therapy. The data form both before and after physical therapy were analyzed by using the paired t-test. All statistical tests in this study were performed with the level of significance set at .05. RESULTS: After 24 weeks of physical therapy, we observed significant improvement in the MAS and ADL scale, as well as significant decrease in the level fo pain in the participants (p<.01). Significant improvement was also observed in the MAS and ADL scale, as well as a decrease in the level of pain among participants with stroke and spinal disease (p<.05). CONCLUSION: The findings of this study show that physical therapy provided at home can lead to an improvement in the motor function as well as improved ADL and pain control; physical therapy also has positive effects in relieving symptoms of veterans with disabilities.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a cognitive training program on neurocognitive task performance and activities of daily living (ADL) in patients who had a stroke. Methods: The research design for this study was a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design. Patients were assigned to the experimental (n=21) or control group (n=21). The experimental group received a 4-week cognitive training program and usual care (i.e., rehabilitation service), while the control was received usual care only. Cognitive function was measured with a standardized neurocognitive test battery and ADL was assessed at baseline and one and two months after completion of the intervention. Repeated measures ANOVA was used to determine changes in cognitive function and ADL over 2 months. Results: The interaction of group and time was significant indicating that the experimental group showed improvement in attention, visuospatial function, verbal memory, and executive function compared to the control group which had a sustained or gradual decrease in test performance. A significant group by time interaction in instrumental ADL was also found between the experimental group with gradual improvement and the control group showing no noticeable change. Conclusion: Findings show that the cognitive training program developed in this study is beneficial in restoring cognitive function and improving ADL in patients following a stroke. Further study is needed to investigate the long-term relationship between cognitive training participation and cognitive improvement and effective functioning in daily living.
This study was carried out to investigate the differences of the dietary behavior of the college students by the type of the residence, that is, home-living, dormitory-living, and self-cooking. The responses of 307 students to the questionaire were analyzed. The average meal frequency of the students was 2.4 times a day. Breakfast was skipped most frequently, especially in dormitory-living and self-cooking students compared to home-living ones. Forty-three percent of the students were found to eat breakfast less than twice a week. Such a poor eating habit was mainly due to insufficient time or idleness. When the quality of the meal was evaluated, dormitory-living and self-cooking students had worse scores than home-living ones. The formers had poor dietary habit in terms of balanced breakfast and food diversity of each meal compared to the latter. Fast foods and coffee were consumed more frequently by dormitory-living and self-cooking students than home-living ones. The main food they eat was rice. However, female dormitory-living students had a higher tendency to enjoy bread for breakfast and noodle for dinner compared to the other groups. Home-living and self-cooking students had snack more frequently than dormitory-living ones, and female than male. In terms of snack time, most of the respondents had snack between lunch and dinner or after dinner. The percentage of those who had snack after dinner was greater in dormitory-living and self-cooking students than home-living students. Results of the food preference test showed that their favorite dishes were fruit salad, Bulgogi, uncurdled Tofu stew, Kimbab, and boiled rice. We observed that dormitory-living and self-cooking students had more problems in their dietary behavior. Therefore, they need to learn how to manage their own meals. This study might be helpful to develop nutrition education materials for the dietary improvement of the college students.

Objectives This study was conducted to verify the effectiveness of east-west integrative rehabilitation therapy on activity of daily living and cognitive functional recovery in stroke patients by comparing with integrative rehabilitation therapy group and conventional rehabilitation therapy group in a single institution. Methods The medical records of 106 stroke patients hospitalized in Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Dongguk University Bundang Oriental Hospital from January 1, 2017 to February 28, 2019 were reviewed. After screening and dividing it into conventional rehabilitation (CR) group and integrative rehabilitation (IR) group, Korean version of Modified Barthel Index (K-MBI), functional independence measure (FIM), clinical dementia rating-sum of boxes (CDR-SB) were statistically analyzed. Results IR group showed significant improvement in K-MBI, FIM, and CDR-SB after treatment (p<0.001) and there was a statistically significant difference in K-MBI and CDR-SB score changes than CR group (p<0.05). And chronic patient of IR group showed significant improvement in K-MBI, FIM, and CDR-SB after treatment (p<0.01) and there was a statistically significant difference in CDR-SB score changes than CR group (p<0.05). In particular, the earlier the treatment initiation time, the more the improvement in function and when the treatment started within 2 years from the onset and patients took acupuncture and pulsed electromagnetic therapy, all scales significantly improved (p<0.001). We also mention the differences by comparing and analyzing Authentications of BF. In addition, we survey the current status of passenger facilities in Korea that have been granted and not granted Authentication of BF of passenger facilities. and we describe improvement directions of Authentications of BF. Implications: Improvement of Authentications of BF should be made in accordance with relevant laws, and improvement of Authentications of BF to reflect various situations in the field is needed. Authentications of BF according to the type of passenger facilities should be distinguished.
