공감능력 향상 프로그램이 초등학생 어머니의 공감능력과 양육효능감에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of an Empathy Ability Improvement Program on Empathy Ability and Parenting Efficacy among Mothers of Elementary School Students)

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of an empathy ability improvement program on empathy ability and parenting efficacy among mothers of elementary school students. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study using a pre-test/post-test control group design. The experimental group (n=23) completed an empathy ability improvement program, while 22 mothers were assigned to the control group. Pre-test and post-test analyses were conducted using the empathy ability scale and parenting efficacy scale. The data were analyzed using the $x^2$ test and test independent t-test. Results: The experimental group showed a statistically significant improvement in empathy ability (t=2.79, d=4.48, p=.008) and parenting efficacy (t=2.87, d=0.89, p=.006) in comparison to the control group. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that empathy education may be effective for improving empathy ability and parenting efficacy in mothers of school-age children.

간호대학생을 위한 공감교육 프로그램이 공감능력, 대인관계 능력 및 돌봄에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of an Empathy Education Program on Nursing Students' Empathy Ability, Interpersonal Ability, and Caring)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effects of an empathy education program for undergraduate nursing students. Methods: The study employed a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 46 nursing students were voluntarily recruited by convenience sampling from senior nursing students from the nursing department of K college in I city, Korea. Participants were divided into two groups, an experimental group of 23 and a control group of 23. The experimental intervention (empathy education program) was conducted from April 19 to May 6, 2016 and consisted of 150-minute sessions, twice a week, for 3 weeks for a total of 15 hours. Results: Participants demonstrated improvements in perspective taking in cognitive empathy, improved empathic concern in emotional empathy, and improved communicative empathy. Analysis of reflective writings identified four theme clusters regarding communicative empathy: improvement of empathic expression, experiencing comfort and healing, improvement of interpersonal relationships, and experience of conflict resolution. Improved interpersonal ability and caring were also identified. Conclusion: The empathy education program improved cognitive, emotional and communicative empathy, and interpersonal skills and care, which are all necessary qualities for nurses.

The Impact of Movement Education Programs on the Empathy Ability of Disabled Children

  • The purpose of this paper is to understand and express emotions and experiences from the perspective of others through empathy, which is crucial for maintaining social relationships. The smooth formation of interpersonal relationships through the physical activity of children with disabilities holds significant meaning. Children with disabilities often lack opportunities for interaction with their peers compared to typical children, and the absence of effective communication methods poses difficulties in forming relationships. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of a movement education program on enhancing empathy in children with disabilities. The program was implemented for 12 weeks from April to June 2023, involving five children with disabilities. The movement education program comprised 12 topics, encompassing physical, emotional, and cognitive domains. Empathy was measured in two areas: cognitive empathy and emotional empathy. The results indicated improvement in both cognitive and emotional empathy after the program compared to the pre-assessment. The rate of progress varied depending on the type and severity of the disability, but overall, positive changes in the development of empathy were observed. Through this research, it is hoped that movement programs can be practically utilized as a valuable resource.

Kano 모델 및 잠재적 고객만족 개선 지수를 이용한 미용성형의료서비스 품질 개선 우선순위 (Quality Improvement Priorities for Cosmetic Medical Service Using Kano Model and Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement Index)

  • The environmental changes in the Korean cosmetic medical service industry in the $21^{st}$ century are forming intense competition among medical institutions due to the quantitative expansion of its market. For stable growth of the cosmetic medical service industry, continuous quality improvement is necessary based on empirical research on the quality of cosmetic medical services rather than external expansion. The purpose of this study is to classify the quality attributes of cosmetic medical service using Kano model and to derive the degree of satisfaction and dissatisfaction of each quality attributes through Customer Satisfaction Coefficient (CSC). Through this, the study identified strategic priorities and suggested specific step-by-step approaches and quality improvement priorities that can increase customer satisfaction using the Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement Index (PCSI Index). Based on SERVPERF, this study used measurement tools consisting of five dimensions : tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. In addition, it was used of measurement items reconstructed into positive, negative, and satisfaction questions for Kano model analysis, CSC analysis, and PCSI Index analysis. A total of 300 medical consumers who experienced cosmetic medical services for the past one year in medical institutions such as plastic surgery and dermatology were collected with convenient sampling. As a result, urgent items for improving the quality of service using the PCSI Index, 'Consideration for customer benefits' in empathy category was followed by 'Immediate help' and 'Sincere response' in responsiveness category, and 'Understanding customer needs' in empathy category, respectively. That is, it is required to improve human service quality attributes such as empathy and responsiveness rather than physical service quality attributes. This study contributes practically in that it provides specific and discriminatory approaches to improve customer satisfaction on cosmetic medical service quality and suggests improvement priorities.

공감향상훈련이 집단따돌림 가해아동의 공감과 가해정도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Empathy Training Program on the Enhancement of Empathy and Bullying's Degree for Bullies)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of an empathy training program on the empathy and bullying's degree for bullies. The research hypotheses set to achieve this goal were as follows. 1. An experimental group that gets empathy training might make a better improvement in empathy immediately after the training than a control group that doesn't, and the effect of the training might last till eight weeks later. 2. An experimental group that undergoes empathy training might show a more significant decrease in bullying's degree for bullies immediately after the training than a control group that doesn't, and the effect of the training might last till eight weeks later. The subjects in this study were 20 children who were designated as bullies when 40 fifth graders from Y Elementary school and 31 children from S Elementary school in the city of T, south Gyeongsang province, took K-PNI. Those children were asked to tell about who were attackers and who were victims, and 10 children each were selected from the two elementary schools as bullies, who were respectively selected as an experimental group and a control group. The empathy training program used in this study was prepared by modifying the empathy training programs developed by Shin Gyeong- il(1994). That program was prepared to be appropriate at fifth grader level. To assess how much the selected children bullied their peers, Kim Seok-jin(1999)'s School Bullying Inventory was utilized. Besides, Song Ho-yeon's revised version to assess the change of counselee empathy was employed. In order to analyze the resulte, ANOVA was implemented. The conclusions obtained from the results and discussion of this study are as follows. First, the empathy training program was effective in changing the empathy of the bullies for the better, and their improved empathy remained the same eight weeks later. Second, the empathy training program had an effect in reducing bullying's degree for bullies, and there was no change in their reduced bullying's degree eight weeks later. Third, the empathy training program served to change their neglecting/ ostracizing and ridiculing/teasing behaviors. And the retention test that was implemented eight weeks later showed the effect of training remained unchanged. Fourth, the empathy training program was effective in changing their cursing/threatening actions according to the posttest results, but the retention test showed that its effect didn't keep on. Fifth, the empathy training program didn't bring any changes to their robbing/striking actions either immediately after the training or eight weeks later.

어머니의 양육효능감과 공감 증진 및 양육스트레스 감소를 위한 자녀양육코칭 프로그램의 개발과 효과 (The Development and the Effectiveness of a Parenting Coaching Program for Parenting Competence, Empathy, and Parenting Stress in Mothers)

  • The purpose of this study is, first, to develop a Parenting Coaching Program to improve parenting competence, and empathy skills, and reduce parenting stress for mothers and second, to examine the program's effectiveness. The program consists of 8 sessions and each session employs a variety of activities and parenting skills to help mothers. The Parenting Sentence of Competence Scale, Empathy Scale, and Parenting Stress Index were used as a pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test, respectively. The data was analyzed by the SPSS 16.0 program, which applied the t-test. Twelve mothers participated in eight sessions of the Parenting Coaching Program, and were compared with the control group of twelve mothers who did not receive treatment. The treatment group statistically showed significant improvement in parenting competence, empathy, and a significant decrease in stress level, in comparison to the control group. It was concluded that the Parenting Coaching Program was effective for improving parenting competence, and empathy skills, and reducing stress.

디자인씽킹에 기반한 가정교과 '건강한 가족 관계' 수업이 중학생의 공감능력 향상에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of 'Healthy Family Relationship' Class of Home Economics Based on Design Thinking on the Improvement of Empathy Ability of the Middle School Student)

  • 이 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 가정교과의 '건강한 가족 관계' 수업을 디자인씽킹을 기반으로 프로그램을 개발하여 실행한 후 그 결과 중학생의 공감능력 향상에 유의미한 차이가 나타나는지 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 디자인씽킹에 기반 한 총 5차시의 『슬기로운 '집콕'생활』프로그램을 개발하여 중학교 2학년 남녀 학생들을 대상으로 실행한 후, 사전-사후 검사를 통해 수업 후에 학생들의 공감능력이 향상되었는지 알아보았다. 그 결과, 『슬기로운 '집콕'생활』 프로그램은 중학생의 인지적 공감능력 향상에 유의미한 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학생들의 수업에 대한 만족도는 전반적으로 긍정적이었다. 특히, 인스타그램으로 공감하기, '부캐' 만들기 등의 활동이 흥미로웠다는 의견이 많았다. 다만, COVID-19로 인한 시간의 부족 및 모둠활동 제약으로 인해 수업 활동에 어려움을 겪었다는 의견도 있었다. 이 연구는 COVID-19로 인해 학습 환경이 변화되는 상황에 유연하게 대처하기 위해 대면과 비대면 상황에 맞추어 활용할 수 있도록 프로그램을 개발하였다는 점과 가정과교육이 중학생의 공감능력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 특히 공감의 인지적 요인 향상에 도움을 준다는 점을 확인한 것에 그 의의가 있다.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the subarea of customer complaints handling service and to accomplish the data for an improvement of complaints handling get service through the evaluation of the importance and performance on customer handling service as subdivisions of customer complaints handling service. The data were collected 303 female/male, 20-30 age by outline survey. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1) The subdivisions of customer complaints handling service were classified into four different factors ; promptness, empathy, information, policy factors. 2) As the subdivisions factors, importance was promptness, empathy>information>policy factor and performance was empathy>information>promptness>policy factor in order. 3) There were question asking the performance evaluation of influencing the total satisfaction of customer complaints handling service. There were promptness, empathy of performance evaluation of influencing the total satisfaction.

중학생 공감능력 향상을 위한 가정과 공동체주택 수업 개발 및 실행 효과 (Development and Implementation Effects of Home Economics Community Housing Classes for Improving Empathy Ability of Middle School Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and apply a teaching-learning plan of apartment house class to improve middle school students' empathy for home economics education and to verify its effect. The study was conducted in five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation using the ADDIE model. In the analysis phase, the study set learning objectives after analyzing how community housing is dealt with in the 2015 revised home economics curriculum and 12 current technology and home economics textbooks. In the design and development stage, in order to evaluate the validity of the experts and to improve the empathy ability, the study goal design, the composition of the learning elements, the development of the learning materials, and the pre and post-questionnaire for the students were developed. In the implementation stage, the empathic ability evaluation was carried out before and after the beginning of the first class by applying the teaching-learning process plan of the 8th class. In the evaluation stage, we examined whether the teaching-learning process developed in this study has a significant effect on empathy ability by evaluating the pre-post difference of empathy ability. As a result of examining the results of the pre - and post - evaluation of empathy ability for the results of this study, both cognitive and communicative factors were improved, and the apartment house class had a significant effect on the improvement of empathy ability.

병원코디네이터에 대한 지각된 진정성과 공감 및 커뮤니케이션 만족도와 재방문의도와의 관계 (The Relationship between Perceived Authenticity and Empathy and Communication Satisfaction and Revisit Intention for Hospital Coordinators)

  • 본 연구는 의료미용을 위한 상담 시 병원코디네이터와 만나는 접점에서 지각된 진정성이 공감과 커뮤니케이션, 재방문 의도에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 자료수집은 상담을 경험한 고객을 선정하여 설문조사를 실시하였고, 통계분석은 SPSS 21.0을 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 병원코디네이터에 대한 지각된 진정성은 공감과 커뮤니케이션 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 공감은 커뮤니케이션 만족도에 정의 영향을 주었다. 둘째 공감과 커뮤니케이션 만족도는 재방문 의도에 정의 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 병원코디네이터의 진정성 있는 상담은 공감을 형성하여 커뮤니케이션 만족도가 높아지고 병원을 다시 방문하는 결과로 이어진다. 따라서 단순히 매출 향상이나 직무에 의해 만들어진 상담이 아니라 고객을 배려한 진정성과 공감을 통한 커뮤니케이션이 이루어진다면 신뢰를 형성할 수 있으며 장기적으로 의료미용 기관의 성과에도 기여할 수 있을것이다.
