건조 조건하에서 TEDA주입 탄소층에 의한 Methyliodide 제거 효율에 관한 연구 (Study on the Removal Efficiency of a TEDA Impregnated Charcoal Bed for Methyliodide under Dry Condition)

  • Thriethylenediamine(TEDA)주입 활성탄층에 의한 공기중의 methyliodide 제거 메카니즘이 조사되었다. 실험 결과, 공기 유속이 20cm/sec 이상일 때는 기공확산이 율속 단계였으며, 10cm/sec 일때는 기공확산 저항과 외부 물질 전달 저항이 모두 총괄 물질 전달 저항에 기여하였다. 공기중 수증기가 존재하지 않는 건조 조건하에서의 TEDA 함침 탄소층의 성능을 묘사하기 위한 흡착 모델이 제안되었다. 계산된 값은 실험 결과와 잘 일치하였다.

  • 습윤 조건하에서 triethylenediamine (TEDA) 합침황성탄소층의 시간에 따른 methyl iodide제거 효율을 예측하기 위한 흡착모델이 제안되었다. 습윤 조건하에서 평형 흡착용량과 유효 가공 확산 계수의 감소가 고려되었다. 예측된 값은 실험결과와 비교되었다.

실험동물 사육실에서의 Exhaust Filter Unit의 악취제거성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Deodorization Performance of Exhaust Filter Unit in a Laboratory Animal Breeding Facility)

  • In this study, an exhaust filter unit for removing bad smells is designed and manufactured to understand the characteristics, damages, and effects on humans and animals of bad smell substances in laboratory animal breeding facilities. Using the exhaust filter unit, a deodorization performance test using ammonia gas, as a typical bad smell in an animal breeding room, was carried out for three types of activated and impregnated charcoal filters. The experimental results showed that the pressure loss of the HEPA and carbon filter was increased with flow rate and that the average deodorization performance for the case where an impregnated carbon filter was installed was a maximum value of between 93 and 96%, with various fractional flow rates ranging from 1,500 to $3,500m^3/h$ in a laboratory animal breeding room. The experimental results will also be used for the design and manufacture of a practical and efficient exhaust filter unit to cope with bad smell problems in animal breeding facilities.

활성탄이 토끼에서 실험적으로 유발된 결손창 치유에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Activated Charcoal on Wound Healing in Rabbits)

  • This study was performed to investigate the effect of activated charcoal on wound healing in an experimentally induced skin wound model. Full-thickness, skin defects ($2 cm{\times}2 cm$) were made in two different areas on the back of eight New Zealand white rabbits. Eight of 16 wounds were treated with gauze-gauze-impregnated activated charocal granules, and another eight wounds were treated with gauze-soaked saline. Wound areas were measured every other day for 2 weeks after the wound-ing. Statistical analysis was performed with the student t-test. The mean percentage of wound con- traction on the 14th day in the activated charcoal-treaded group and in the saline treated group were 93.5% and 81_7%, respectively. The mean value of tensile, strength ell the 21s1 day after wounding was,42.70{\pm}0.8 kg/5cm^2$,/TEX> in the activated charcoal-treated group and $1.75 {\pm} 0.5 kg/5 cm^2$ in the saline treated group. Significantly reduced wound area (p<0.05) and high tensile strength value (P<0.O5) were observed in activated charcoal-treated group compared with those in the saline treated group. In summary activated charcoa1 significantly reduced the wound area an increased tensile strength in the rabbit 7kin wound model. These results suggest that application of activated charcoal in skill wounds will promote wound healing.

Removal of radioactive methyliodide from the gas stream with a composite sorbent based on polyurethane foam

  • A composite iodine sorbent was obtained in the form of porous polymer matrix with activated carbon particles impregnated with triethylenediamine deposited on its surface. A comparative assessment of the radioactive methyliodide capturing efficiency by the composite sorbent and a sample of industrial charcoal sorbent was conducted. It was shown that under the selected testing conditions, the hydraulic resistance of the composite sorbent is lower, and the sorption capacity is higher than that of the industrial charcoal sorbent. A method for comparing the effectiveness of iodine sorbents, based on the calculation of the ratio of the sorption capacity index to the minimum capacity index, needed for the required purification degree was proposed.

  • Metal ions such as Cu and Cr were extracted from the Cu, Cr and Ag impregnated active carbon by contacting the solid surfaces with supercritical carbon dioxide(Sc-$CO_2$) containing chelating agents. About 10g of the active carbon sample were loaded in a vertical tube extractor contacting with $CO_2$ flowing from the bottom of the tube for 6hrs. The ligands used were acetyl acetone(AA) and Cyanex-302(C-302). Water and methanol were used as entrainers to study the effect of co-solvent to $CO_2$. Experimental results showed that C-302 was more effective than AA in removing Cu with the maximum extraction of 42.0wt%, while 57.6wt% of Cr was extracted with AA from the sample.

폐 활성탄을 이용한 타일 제조 및 특성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Production of Tile using Waste Activated Carbon and its Character Evaluation)

  • The tiles were manufactured using a mixture of the TK material(a raw material in making tile) and Cu-Cr-Ag impregnated activated carbon(ASC Charcoal). The extraction character of heavy metals in making tile was evaluated and the manufacturing conditions of tile were studied. The heavy metals in the mixture-before and after the tile was production of tiles was successful and as a result of heavy metal analysis, the tile showed that the concentration of heavy metal after the production of tiles was lower than that of the before one. The concentration of eluted heavy metal by acidic and basic solutions was low and the quality of the produced tile was similar to the commercial one. The result of this study suggested that the waste ASC charcoal was used to produce good tiles and it also might reduce soil pollution.

A method for properties evaluation of activated charcoal sorbents in iodine capture under dynamic conditions

  • Experimental equipment for studying the sorption properties of iodine sorbents using radioactive methyliodide has been developed. The sorption capacity index ${\alpha}$ is proposed as a criterion parameter for assessing the quality of impregnated activated charcoals. It was found that this parameter does not depend on the dynamic conditions during the sorbent test. It was shown that values of the sorption capacity index allow to recommend iodine sorbents for industrial gas cleaning processes.

리튬이온 전지용 바이오매스 기반 음극재 개발 (Development of Biomass-Derived Anode Material for Lithium-Ion Battery)

  • 기존의 석유계부산물 기반 음극재의 대체물질을 개발하고자, 친환경적이며 가격이 저렴한 대나무 기반 1차 탄화숯을 저온 흑연화 공정을 통해 흑연으로 전환 후 음극재로 활용하였다. 저온 흑연화 공정을 위해 탄화철을 촉매로 사용하였으며, 첨가된 탄화철의 양에 따라 흑연화 정도를 X선 회절기(x-ray diffraction, XRD), 라만 분광기(raman spectroscopy), TEM (transmission electron microscopy)을 사용하여 분석 한 후 탄화철의 최적 양을 결정하였다. 가스흡착법(brunauer-emmett-teller, BET)를 사용하여 흑연화 숯의 기공특성도 분석하였다. 분석 결과 촉매 표면을 중심으로 비정질의 탄소가 흑연으로 전환되었으며, 흑연화 공정 후 촉매를 제거하기 위해 산 처리를 하는 동안 기존의 1차 탄화숯보다 크기가 큰 기공이 형성되어 상대적으로 표면적이 줄어들었다. 최적 양의 촉매를 사용하여 제조된 흑연화 숯을 음극재로 활용하여 전지성능을 분석한 결과 1차 탄화숯과 비교하여 방전용량과 충방전 효율이 증가하였다. 이는 흑연화 공정으로 비정질의 탄소가 흑연으로 전환되었기 때문으로 추정되며, 전지성능을 더욱 향상시키기 위해서는 탄화철 촉매의 크기를 최대한 작게 조절하고, 흑연화 숯의 입자크기를 균일화 하는 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

바이오매스 조연제를 이용한 CO저감형 착화탄 개발에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Development of the Charcoal with Low Carbon Monoxide Emission using Biomass Combustion Improver)

  • 본 연구에서는 바이오매스 조연제인 리그닌과 글리세린을 이용하여 일산화탄소(CO) 저감형 착화탄을 개발, 연소시 발생하는 일산화탄소 측정을 통해 조연제가 일산화탄소 발생에 미치는 영향을 관찰하였다. 연료의 완전연소를 위해 저온에서 높은 연소성을 보이는 글리세린을 높은 비표면적 값을 가진 리그닌에 함침시켜 연소 특성이 나타날 수 있도록 하였다. 열중량분석기(TGA) 및 가스분석기(GC/MS)를 이용하여 연소성, 탈휘발성 평가 및 일산화탄소 발생량을 측정하였다. 본 연구 결과에서 조연제 함유량에 따른 일산화탄소 발생량을 통해 전체 중량 대비 20% 조연제를 혼합 시 최적의 일산화탄소 저감률을 확인할 수 있었다. 최종적으로 일반 착화탄의 일산화탄소 농도 대비 20~30% 가량 감소한 값을 도출하였다.
