The line code for ISDN subscriber loops is a critical choice in designing U-interface transceiver, since it affects system performance in a crucial way. This paper provides the performance analysis of U-interface transceiver systems employing four different line codes AMI, MMS43, VMDB5, and 2B1Q. The codes are compared using computer simulation studies, and three performance parameters of the four codes such as power spectrum, eye width, and error probability are used for the comparison. The simulation model consists of the encoder, transmit filter (root-raised cosine filter), channel, receive filter, zero-forcing equalizer, sampler, and decoder. The near-end crosstalk and addive white gaussian noise are considered as teh principal impediments.

This paper is intended to identify the main problems for attracting inbound tourists in Korea in conjunction with aviation sector. This paper mainly deals with policy issues of tourism-aviation sector. The major impediments in the aviation sector for attracting inbound tourists can be lack of flight seat supply at peak season, flight time schedule, and cooperation of Airlines. Policy suggestions for international tourism promotion in Korea can be summarized as: re-adjustment of flight time schedule between Japan-Korea routes, market promotion for attracting Chinese visitors, development of Korea-China-Japan triangular tourism product, efficient provision of airport facility, and in particular collaboration between government sectors of countries and private sectors of Airlines and travel agencies.

The wide application of disc springs to the designing of mechanical products with space limit is mainly attributable to their property of sustaining large axial load with small displacement. Due to the impediments in expecting the final results caused by the significant differences existing between a single unit and a stacked form, the force-displacement characteristics of a single disc spring and stacked disc springs are mainly examined in this study. In particular, the hysteresis of the series stack and the parallel stack will be investigated through the FE analysis and the analytical results will finally be compared with the acquired experimental data. In the final result, the analytical results were in accordance with the experimental data.

Almost of all impediments to enhancing ship safety and preventing vessel-source marine pollution arise from the interaction between direct and indirect factors. The direct factors come from human errors and failure in compliance with the international convention standards for the operation of cessel. The indirect factors derive from the will and attitudes of the countries taking little responsibilities with appropriate seriousness for policing their fleets. By focusing on these aspects, this paper reviews the effectiveness of existing countermasures adopted by IMO and intends to propose a new paradigm to improve the implementation capability of each nation by suggesting frameworks of maritime administration models.

Tourism has been considered as the largest industry in the world, which is contributing towards employment generation, wealth creation and pursuing social benefits. Growing concern about the impact of human activities upon the environment, increased awareness of and concern for global environment have intensified the demand for sustainable tourism and their focus on balancing of: profit-driven motives, preserving and enhancing the social as well as ecological balance. Based on secondary materials and content analysis present study evaluated existing status of sustainable tourism development and explored important change strategies for future improvement of tourism sector in Bangladesh. The study recognized different views of change management and various strategies for obtaining sustainability in tourism industry. The present study identified the institutional networks, challenges in the way of applying systems approach to change management for sustainable tourism development and suggested important options for overcoming the impediments to operate through the proposed strategic framework in Bangladesh.

The cost of simulation modeling, the expertise required, and the pains of starting a new each time are impediments to more wide spread adoption of simulation technology. In addition, one of the most critical problems in the field of computer simulation today is the lack of published models and physical objects within the World Wide Web (WWW) allowing such distribution. From the viewpoint of WWW as distributed model repositories, it can be assumed that very many simulation models exist on the web. This paper is based on the premise that WWW is a distributed repository. Design Pattern, web-oriented technology like Java and CORBA, which are especially to cope with distributed objects, are introduced and discussed in detail for integration of simulation model. In this paper an architecture of model integration is proposed, which presents the whole procedure of model integration and how the Internet technologies are connected in. Drug resistance is one of the most significant impediments to successful chemotherapy of cancer. Multidrug-resistance (MDR) is characterized by decreased cellular sensitivity to anticancer agents due to the overexpression of P-glycoprotein. By employing a resistant subline of HCT15 to adriamycin (CL02), we undertook the screening for agents which were effective to multidrug-resistant cancer cells. As a result, a myxobacterial strain JW150 was selected for study since an activity against CL02 cells was discovered in the strain. Cytotoxicity-guided fractionation of the culture broth led to the isolation of cystothiazole A and melithiazole F. The producing organism was identified as Myxococcus stipitatus by taxonomic comparison with type strains of Myxococcus sp. as well as its morphological and physiological characteristics. Cystothiazole A and melithiazole F demonstrated potent cytotoxicity against certain human cancer cells with $IC_{50}$ values ranging from 0.03~ $0.72{\mu}{\textrm{g}}$/ml. Both compounds were interestingly as active against drug-resistant sublines CL02 and CP70 as against the corresponding parental cells.

The aim of this study is to evaluate current policies and suggest the way of overcome financial impediments to the energy efficiency function of residential buildings. Based on this analysis the paper enumerates policy recommendations for enhancing how energy efficiency is addressed in building codes and other policies for residential buildings. For achieving this goal, this study conducts the cost-benefit analysis to measure total energy savings and associated total cost. The results of study shows that the cost is greater than the benefit from 1st to 4th year but the benefit will be greater than the cost for the rest of the year. In addition, this study designs a financial support method and an implementation mechanism. Investment from the capital market will take place with the government's interest subsidy. Home retrofit will be undertaken with low interest rate with 2.5% and the return will be paid by a monthly energy bill. The results of this study provides some useful insights for the policy design, including the importance of developing information tools for providing appropriate information to households.

Insomnia is a temporary or continuous condition in which one has difficulty sleeping, due to physical impediments or physical problems. Because insomnia does harms to a labor power or imposes mental and physical burden on a patient, we should pay attention to this disease. This case is about a patient who was 62 years old man with a chronic insomnia since 1996, inspite of no past history about psychical disease. He had sufferred from a cerebral infarction and hypertension since March. 2002. and was hospitalized in Sangji University korean medicine hospital, 25. June. 2002. This patient had been treated by herb-med, Yanggyuksanhwatang for 4 weeks and showed an improvement. This paper describes the process and contents about the patient was cured.

Given the importance of adoption of the IOS (Interorganizational System) and the “much-slower-than-anticipated” growth of IOS adoption, especially in small- and midium firms, this study aimed to identify the key determinants of small- and midium-sized firms' ISO usage. Based on prior research on IT/EDI adoption in various organizations, the model that incorporates 9 factors that are hypothesized to have influence on the ISO usage decision was developed and empirically tested against data collected from 114 small- and midium-seized firms' top management. The results show that perceived financial costs are found to be major impediments to usage intention, and perceptions of relative advantage, compatibility, risk are also important determinants of ISO usage intention in small- and midium-sized firms. Implications of these findings are duscussed for researchers and practitioners.
