  • Green roof systems has widely been used on rooftop of buildings by considering environmental benefits in aspects of bio-diversity, storm-water runoff as well as noise reduction. To predict noise reduction effect by green roof systems, it is necessary to measure in-situ acoustical properties of the components by devices enabling in-situ measurements. In this study, Micro-flown, which is the state of the arts device to measure in-situ normalized impedance and absorption coefficient has been used to measure acoustical properties of green roof materials according to different water saturation condition in the materials.

병렬 다공판 시스템의 흡음특성과 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Sound Absorptive Characteristics and Performance of Parallel Perforated Plate Systems)

  • The acoustic absorption of a multiple layer perforated plate system is very good near the resonance frequency region, while it has been regarded as a demerit that its frequency bandwidth is considerably narrow. In order to overcome such a demerit, the parallel perforated plates with different porosities are proposed. The sound absorption of such system composed of a parallel perforated plate is calculated by an equivalent electroatoustic circuit approach and validated by comparing the calculated absorption coefficients with those measured by the two-microphone impedance tube method. The sound absorptive characteristics and performance of parallel perforated plate systems are discussed from a standpoint of frequency bandwidth related with sound absorption.

  • The acoustic absorption of multiple layer perforated panel systems is largely reduced at the anti-resonance frequency. In order to improve the acoustic absorption at the anti-resonance frequency, the sound absorbing materials are inserted between perforated panels. By the insertion of absorbing materials, it is found that the multiple layer perforated panel system has better acoustic absorption at the anti-resonance frequency and more broadband frequency. Besides, it is shown that the absorption coefficients from the transfer matrix method agree well with the values measured by the two-microphone impedance tube method for various combinations of perforated panels, airspaces or sound absorbing materials.

  • There have been various direct or indirect methods to measure the characteristics of plasma. Comparing to direct method like Langmuir probe method, indirect measurements which give information as some external parameters like current, voltage, or phase are easier to obtain. In this research, an indirect method to measure averaged plasma density in a transformer coupled plasma(TCP) has been proposed and evaluated. With a simple analytic model connecting electrical characteristics to plasma impedance, direct measurement via double Langmuir probe has been performed. This result may play a meaningful role to diagnose TCP or similar plasma sources

  • Methanol electro oxidation on the surface of carbon paste modified by $NiCl_2/6H_2O$ was studied in 1M NaOH by potentiostatic and potentiodynamic methods. Ni/C catalyst by the concentration of 5% Ni showed about twice higher electro catalytic activity than Ni metal. The amount of monolayer's on the surface of electrode is almost one order higher for Ni/C than Ni electrode. The kinetic parameters and the diffusion coefficient of methanol were derived from chronoamperometry (CA) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements.

  • Digitalization in electronic system is required the capacitor which have a large capacitance with small size, low impedance at high frequency, and high reliability. The fabrication and its properties of aluminum solid electrolytic capacitor are investigated. Employing conduction polymer film such as, polypyrrole as solid electroylte, solid type aluminum electrolytic capacitors were made. The surface of insulationg oxide is covered with conducting polymer layer prepared by chemical oxidative polymerization. Thereafter this conducting layer is covered with conducting polymer prepared by electrochemical polymerization. The dielectric properties of these capacitors were also measured and discussed. Regarding on frequency characteristics of the trial made capacitor, impedance and ESR at high frequency is lower than those of the stacked type film capacitor. It is alo confirmed that temperature coefficient of capacitance and dissipation factor of the capacitor are lower than those of film capacitor and liquid type aluminum electrolytic capacitor.

  • Strong surface waves among collinearly arranged patch antenna arrays pose unwanted inter element coupling particularly when high permittivity dielectric materials are used. In order to avert those waves, a novel Defected Ground Structure (DGS) is carved out systematically between two E-plane patch antenna elements. The introduced low profile μ shaped structure consequently improves impedance bandwidth and reflection coefficient by suppressing surface waves considerably. Parametric simulation results are analyzed and discussed.

원격의료계측을 위한 한국형 생체 전기 임피던스 분석 시스템의 개발 (Development of Bioelectrical Impedance Analyzer for Korean in Telemedicine)

  • 본 연구에서는 변기에 앉아 있을 때 체성분을 효과적으로 측정할 수 있는 체임피던스 측정기(Bioelectrical Impedance Analyzer, BIA)를 개발하고, 이 시스템으로 정확한 체성분 값을 구할 수 있는 방정식을 도출하였다. 이를 위해 설계한 하드웨어고 건강한 한국인 남·여 181명의 체임피던스 값을 변기에 적합한 전극 부착 위치(손목, 허벅지)에서 획득였다. 같은 피험자를 대상으로 기존의 한국인에게 적용시 정확도의 문제를 내포하는 수중체중법의 Siri 방정식을 modified-Siri 방정식으로 적용함으로서 한국인의 제지방량 표준값을 산출하였다. 이 표준값을 기준으로 임피던스 지수, 체중, 성별로 한국인의 제지방을 예측하는 추정식을 얻었다. 제지방량의 추정값과 표준값 사이의 상관계수(r)는 0.977로 높은 관련성을 나타냈으며, SEE(Standard Error of Estimation)은 2.47kg으로 낮은 오차를 나타냈다(p<0.05). 이는 기존의 전극 부착위치인 손목과 발목을 같은 피험자에 적용하여 체임피던스에 의한 제지방량 추정식을 세울 때, 추정값과 표준값 사이의 상관계수(r = 0.978) 및 SEE(2.43kg)와 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 또한. 이중교차검증(Double Cross Validation)을 통해 실험에 참가하지 않은 피검자에 대한 적용 가능성도 유효한 것으로 나타나 본 논문에서 설계한 체임피던스 분석기와 추정식은 한국인의 제지방량을 산출하는데 적합한 것으로 평가되었다.

셀룰로오즈 흡음재의 음향적 특성 평가 (Evaluations of the Acoustics Characteristics of Cellulose Absorbers)

  • Eco-friendly material applied to building would be one of the materials which is must developed for global environmental conservation and reduction of carbon dioxide. For development of eco-friendly material, a cellulose absorber has been developed with waste paper through adjustment of various mix proportions. The developed cellulose absorber has been tested for its acoustic properties such as absorption coefficient and dynamic stiffness. The absorption coefficient was evaluated by developing six samples and using impedance tube and reverberation chamber. As a result of the evaluation, 0.64(NRC) was secured in absorption coefficient and 4.7 $MN/m^3$ was indicated in dynamic stiffness. Also, for practical use of developed absorbers as inner heartwood in drywall, comparison test of sound reduction index was performed with existing glass wool absorbers and constructed drywall of gypsum board. The results have shown 55 dB(Rw) of sound reduction index in glass-wool wall and 46 dB(Rw) in cellulose.

알루미늄칩과 타공판을 이용한 방음벽 충진재의 흡음특성 (Absorption Characteristics of Sound Proof Wall by Scrap Aluminum and Perforated Plate)

  • Efforts to reduce noise in industrial application fields, such as automobiles, aircrafts, and plants have been gaining considerable attention while a sound proof wall to protect people from the noise has been intensively investigated by many researchers. In this study, our research group suggested creating a new sound proof wall composed of scrap aluminum chips and perforated plates in a commercial polyester sound proof wall, which was then successfully fabricated. This wall's sound absorption characteristics were measured by an impedance tube method. The sound absorption property was evaluated by measuring the Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) to the standard, ASTM C 423-90a. The noise reduction coefficient of the sound proof wall composed of 3.5 vol.% and 7.5 vol.% of scrap aluminum chips relatively increased to 5% and 8% compared to the commercial polyester sound proof wall. The scrap aluminum perforated plate also relatively increased to 13% compared to the commercial polyester sound proof wall.
