탑승자 안전지수에 영향을 주는 데이터 처리과정과 수치절차 (Data Processing and Numerical Procedures Influencing on Occupant Risk Indices)

  • 차량방호 안전시설에 대한 성능의 검증은 충돌시험의 가속도와 각속도 데이터를 사용하여 산정한 탑승자 안전지수를 평가하여 이루어진다. 탑승자 안전지수로는 THIV(Theoretical Head Impact Velocity), PHD(Post-impact Head Deceleration), ASI(Acceleration Severity Index), OIV(Occupant Impact Velocity)와 ORA(Occupant Ridedown Acceleration)가 있다. 탑승자 안전지수 계산에 상이한 데이터 처리과정과 수치절차의 적용이 가능하기 때문에 동일한 시험 데이터에 대하여 다양한 탑승자 안전지수값이 결정될 수 있어서 혼란이 초래되고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 다양한 상세절차와 데이터 처리과정이 탑승자 안전지수에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 지침에 제시된 계측시간간격을 사용하여 차량충돌시험이 수행된다면 보간법과 수치적분방법은 THIV와 OIV 값에 영향을 크게 미치지 않았다. 그리고 PHD에 대한 10msec 이동평균방법과 데이터 처리과정의 영점보정은 탑승자 안전지수에 상당한 영향을 미치기 때문에 이에 관한 구체적인 방법이 지침에 규정되어야 한다.

차 대 보행자 충돌시 사고해석 모델개발 (Development of Accident Analysis Model in Car to Pedestrian Accident)

  • The fatality of pedestrian accounts for about 21.2% of all fatality at 2007 year in Korea. In car to pedestrian accident it is very important to inspect the throw distance of pedestrian after collision for exact reconstructing of the accident. The variables that influence on the throw distance of pedestrian can be classified into the factors of vehicle and pedestrian, and road condition. It was simulated by PC-CRASH, a kinetic analysis program for a traffic accident in sedan type vehicle and SPSS program was used for regression analysis. From the results, the throw distance of pedestrian increased with the increasing of vehicle velocity, and decreased with the increasing of impact offset. Also it decreased with the increasing of velocity of pedestrian at accident, and throw distance at the road condition of wet was longer than that at dry condition. Finally, the regression model of sedan type vehicle on the throw distance of pedestrian was as follows; $$dist_i=2.39-0.11offset_i+0.59speed_i-545height_i-0.25walk_i+2.78wet_i+{\epsilon}_i$$.

피스톤핀 옵셋이 피스톤운동과 운동에너지 손실에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Piston Pin Offset on a Piston Motion and Kinetic Energy Loss)

  • A theoretical analysis of predicting the detailed motion of a piston-crank mechanism within piston-guide clearance is presented, and the analysis is applied to the piston motion in a gasoline engine. A piston movement program is developed to calculate the piston attitude relative to the bore, the piston to bore impact velocity and kinetic energy loss and the net transverse force acting on the piston. This paper presents the formulation of a set of differential equations governing the transverse and rotational motion of a piston. These equations of motion were solved by well established Runge-Kutta method. As a result of this study, it is possible to predict the effects of piston geometry and piston pin offset on a piston motion and kinetic energy loss.

충격흡수시설의 탑승자보호 성능평가 기준에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Injury Criteria of the Occupant Protection Performance of Crush Cushions)

  • The performance of crash cushion systems is certified through the full scale crash tests by the standard for installation and maintenance guidelines for roadside safety appurtenance. The impact severities of impacting vehicles in collision with crash cushion systems are rated by indices THIV and PHD. Crash test results are considered to study the performance of three crash cushion systems. In case of the frontal impact or the offset frontal impact, the results show that THIV values of three systems are very close to the threshold limit for the occupant protection. Also, the results show that PHD would be improper for the occupant protection performance index. In order to improve the occupant protection performance of crash cushions, ASI needs to be included in the impact severity index.

  • The fatalities of pedestrian account for about 21.2% of all fatalities at 2007 year in Korea. To reconstruct exactly the accident, it is important to calculate the throw distance of pedestrian in car to pedestrian accident. The frontal shape of SUV vehicle is dissimilar to passenger car and bus, so the trajectory and throw distance of pedestrian by SUV vehicle is not the same of passenger car and bus. The influencing on it can be classified into the factors of vehicle and pedestrian, and road factor. It was analyzed by PC-CRASH for simulation, and SPSS s/w was used for regression analysis. From the simulation results, the maximum impact energy of multi-body of pedestrian was occurred to that of torso body at the same time. And the throw distance increased with the increasing of impact velocity, and decreased with the increasing of impact offset. Also it decreased with the increasing of velocity of pedestrian at accident, and the throw distance of wet road was longer than that of dry road. Finally, the regression analysis model of SUV(Nissan Pathfinder type)vehicle in car to pedestrian accident was as follows; $$disti_i=-0.87-0.11offseti_i+0.69speed_i-4.27height_i+0.004walk_i+0.63wet_i+{\epsilon}_i$$.

  • Vacuum interrupters that is used in various switchgear components such as circuit breakers, distribution switches, contactors, etc. spreads the arc uniformly over the surface of the contacts. The electrode of vacuum interrupters is used sintered Cu-Cr material satisfied with good electrical and mechanical characteristics. Because the closing velocity is 1-3m/s, the deformation of the material of electrodes depends on the strain rate and the dynamic behavior of the sintered Cu-Cr material is a key to investigate the impact characteristics of the electrodes. The dynamic response of the material at the high strain-rate is obtained from the split Hopkinson pressure bar test using cylinder type specimens. Experimental results from both quasi-static and dynamic compressive tests with the split Hopkinson pressure bar apparatus are interpolated to construct the Johnson-Cook equation as the constitutive relation that should be applied to simulation of the dynamic behavior of electrodes. To evaluate impact characteristic of a vacuum interrupter, simulation is carried out with five parameters such as initial velocity, added mass of a movable electrode, wipe spring constant, initial offset of a wipe spring and virtual fixed spring constant.

The impact characteristics of a vacuum interrupter are investigated with computer simulations by changing the value of five parameters such as the initial velocity of a movable electrode, the added mass of a movable electrode, the wipe spring constant, initial offset of a wipe spring and the virtual fixed spring constant.

우주파편 초고속충돌에 의한 위성구조체의 손상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Damage of Satellite caused by Hypervelocity Impact with Orbital Debris)

  • 지구궤도 상에는 무수히 많은 우주파편(Orbital debris)이 존재하며 매우 높은 속도로 선회하고 있기 때문에 정상가동중인 인공위성과 충돌 시 위성구조체에 치명적인 손상을 일으킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 입자완화유체동역학(Smoothed particle hydrodynamics, SPH)을 이용하여 우주파편과의 초고속충돌로 인해 발생 가능한 저궤도 위성구조체의 손상분석을 수행하였다. 위성구조체의 본체 패널(Panel)로 사용되는 허니콤샌드위치패널(Honeycomb sandwich panel, HC/SP)에 대해 충돌속도에 따른 손상분석을 수행하였으며 위성구조체 내부부품의 안전성 분석을 위해 전자박스가 HC/SP에 직접 부착된 경우와 10cm 오프셋 된 경우에 대한 초고속충돌해석 및 손상분석을 수행하였다. 고도 685km의 저궤도에서 2% 정도의 충돌확률을 갖는 우주파편들을 고려할 때, HC/SP 자체에 관통이 발생하는 것으로 나타났으며 부착형 전자박스의 경우와 오프셋형 전자박스의 경우에는 전자박스에 관통이 발생하지 않고 미소 크레이터(Crater)만 발생되는 것으로 나타났다.

탑승자 안전도를 고려한 교각 방호시설물 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Non-Redirective Crash Cushion for Bridge Piers Considering Occupant Safety)

  • The traffic accident types are largely classified into vehicle to vehicle accident, vehicle-to-person accident and single-vehicle. Especially, the single-vehicle accident types are severe when the vehicle crashed into road facilities such as bridge, piers, utility poles. The severity of single-vehicle accidents are ten times higher than that of all other accidents types. It is needed to consider to reduce accident severity. This study was conducted to develop crash worthy safety design facility to ensure the vehicle occupant safety. The simulation and the crash tests were conducted for assessment of the safety performance to check the criteria of CC2(Crash Cushion 2) level. THIV(Theoretical Head Impact Velocity) and PHD(Post-impact Head Deceleration) were used to assess occupant impact severity for crashes. The non-redirection collision test conditions for 900 kg and 1,300 kg-head on crash tests, 900 kg-1/4 offset crash tests, 1,300 kg-head on crash test with $15^{\circ}$angle were conducted. The simulation and experiment test result showed that THIV values were below 44 km/h criterion, PHD values were below the 20G. The development non-redirective crash cushion is expected to be used for the fixed object such as bridge piers for assuring occupant safety.

일반 형상의 2차원 영역에서의 멀티스케일 웨이블렛-갤러킨 기법 (Multiscale Wavelet-Galerkin Method in General Two-Dimensional Problems)

  • We propose a new multiscale Galerkin method based on interpolation wavelets for two-dimensional Poisson's and plane elasticity problems. The major contributions of the present work are: 1) full multiresolution numerical analysis is carried out, 2) general boundaries are handled by a fictitious domain method without using a penalty term or the Lagrange multiplier, 3) no special integration rule is necessary unlike in the (bi-)orthogonal wavelet-based methods, and 4) an efficient adaptive scheme is easy to incorporate.
