비상체의 충돌에 의한 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체의 파괴특성 (Fracture Characteristics of Ductile Fiber Reinforced Cement based Composites by Collision of Steel Projectile)

  • 본 연구는 폴리비닐 알코올 섬유 및 강섬유를 체적비율로 1.5% 혼입한 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체에 대한 비상체의 고속충돌시험을 실시하고, 충돌조건에 따른 파괴특성을 실험적으로 검토하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 비상체의 충돌에 의한 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체의 파괴특성을 평가하기 위하여 화약압력식 충격시험장치를 활용하였으며, 충돌속도의 범위는 약 150~1,000m/s로 설정하였다. 파괴특성에 대한 평가결과, 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체는 섬유를 혼입하지 않은 Plain시험체의 약 3배 이상의 비상체 운동에너지가 작용하는 범위에서도 표면관입의 파괴등급으로 평가되었으며, 시험체가 파단되지 않는 내충격성능이 확인 되었다. 또한, 충돌시험 전후에 대한 시험체의 질량감소율의 경우, Plain시험체는 비상체의 운동에너지의 증가율과 비례적인 관계를 보였지만, 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체는 비상체의 운동에너지의 영향을 크게 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 이와 같은 경향은 시험체 배면의 파괴특성과 밀접한 관계를 가지며, S시험체에 비해 PVA시험체의 배면박리 억제효율이 큰 것으로 평가되었다. 한편, 국부손상에 대한 표면관입깊이 및 배면박리깊이의 관계를 검토한 결과, 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체는 Plain과 달리 시험체 단면의 중앙선을 기준으로 배면에 가까운 영역에서 배면박리가 발생하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 비상체의 충돌에 대한 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체의 주요 파괴거동이 검토되었으며, Plain과 비교하여 내충격성능의 향상을 명확히 확인하였다.

  • A complex maritime resort combined marina and with course of Korea is required to improve international tourism competitiveness by taking advantage of her environmental favorable circumstances. The development of tourism, however, is focused on land-oriented that incurred lower tourism efficiency and international tourism competitiveness. In addition, the regulation of "Preliminary environmental assessment for golf courses" by the Ministry of Environment is emphasized on land geography and geology that can cause damage of tourist attractions in an island region. In particular, the development of 6th or 7th ridges in mountainous island region within 2km from the sea, that holds scenic and academic value, can go against environment-friendly by geographical and geological damage. According to the regulation for consultation for golf courses and forestry is to preserve regional ecosystem over 6th ridge, but it cannot be applicable to island region because that can form excessive slopes where marine ecosystem is required to be maintained. It, therefore, can be desirable that the development of over 6th ridge in an island region. It is suggested that continuous comparative studies of geographical and geological characteristics between land and island region will be carried on to establish feasible and reasonable development model so that balanced development of land and island, and versatile international environment-friendly maritime resort can be achieved and developed.

The impact of successive earthquakes on the seismic damage of multistorey 3D R/C buildings

  • Historical earthquakes have shown that successive seismic events may occur in regions of high seismicity. Such a sequence of earthquakes has the potential to increase the damage level of the structures, since any rehabilitation between the successive ground motions is practically impossible due to lack of time. Few studies about this issue can be found in literature, most of which focused their attention on the seismic response of SDOF systems or planar frame structures. The aim of the present study is to examine the impact of seismic sequences on the damage level of 3D multistorey R/C buildings with various structural systems. For the purposes of the above investigation a comprehensive assessment is conducted using three double-symmetric and three asymmetric in plan medium-rise R/C buildings, which are designed on the basis of the current seismic codes. The buildings are analyzed by nonlinear time response analysis using 80 bidirectional seismic sequences. In order to account for the variable orientation of the seismic motion, the two horizontal accelerograms of each earthquake record are applied along horizontal orthogonal axes forming 12 different angles with the structural axes. The assessment of the results revealed that successive ground motions can lead to significant increase of the structural damage compared to the damage caused by the corresponding single seismic events. Furthermore, the incident angle can radically alter the successive earthquake phenomenon depending on the special characteristics of the structure, the number of the sequential earthquakes, as well as the distance of the record from the fault.

A Review on the Effects of Earthborne Vibrations and the Mitigation Measures

  • Earthborne vibrations are induced by construction operation such as pile driving, roadbed compaction, and blasting and also by transit activities such as truck and trains. The earthborne vibration creates the stress waves traveling outward from the source and can structurally damage nearby buildings and structures in the forms of direct damage to structure and damage due to dynamic settlement. The wave propagation characteristics depends on impact or vibration energy, distance from the source, and soil characteristics. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review on the mechanistic of earthborne vibration and the current practice of vibration control and mitigation measures. The paper describes the state of knowledge in the areas of: (1) mechanics of earthborne vibration, (2) damage mechanism by earthborne vibration, (3) calculation, prediction of ground vibration, (4) the criteria of vibration limits, (5) vibration mitigation measures and their performance, and (6) the current practice of vibration control and mitigation measures.

토지피복지도 변화지역 추출을 통한 훼손 유형분류에 관한 연구 (Classification of the Types of Damage by Extracting the Changed Areas on Land Cover Maps)

  • This study aims to increase the ability to adapt to the ecosystem and promote a sustainable use of the natural environment, by classifying the types of damaged lands according to various factors, such as the characteristics of the target area and form, cause, and impact of damage. Moreover, the study suggests the development of evaluation categories and criteria by each type. The results obtained are as follows: first, for the assessment of damaged lands, the changed areas were identified utilizing land cover maps. Video analysis was performed to increase the accuracy, and 88 sites were obtained. Second, the types of damage were classified into ecological infrastructure and ecological environment, and the sub-factors of the cause of damage were classified into 12 factors. Third, each evaluation system for the types of damage was composed of four steps, considering each type of damage and the level of evaluators being higher than paraprofessionals. To supplement this study, it will be necessary to utilize the database of damaged lands other than the Seoul Metropolitan Area and conduct an on-site survey for verification in the future.

재난관리플랫폼을 이용한 도심지 건물군의 지진피해평가 (Earthquake Damage Assessment of Buildings in Urban Area using Disaster Management Platform)

  • 지진은 물리적 특성 상 짧은 시간에 광범위한 지역에 큰 피해를 주는 만큼, 지역사회 기능 회복을 위한 복원력 관점의 지진대응 방안이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 공공데이터포털정보와 재난관리프로그램(Ergo-EQ)을 이용하여 시나리오지진에 의한 도심지 건물들의 지진피해를 확률론적으로 평가하였다. 대구광역시 달서구 지역의 주요 건물들에 대한 지진피해평가 수행을 위해 해당 지역의 지형데이터를 활용하고 지역의 지질 및 지반 특성을 반영한 지형도를 작성하였다. 또한, 상기 건물들의 인프라 특성을 포함하는 통합데이터베이스를 Ergo-EQ 프로그램과 연동되도록 수정하고, 각 건물들에 대해 네 단계 손상수준 별 초과확률을 분석하여 각 건물의 손상도를 평가하였다. 일련의 피해분석 결과를 통해 각 건물별 지진손상도와 이의 영향 인자 특성을 확인하였다.

Impact of Gamma Irradiation Effects on IGBT and Design Parameter Considerations

  • The primary dose effects on an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) irradiated with a $^{60}Co$ gamma-ray source are found in both of the components of the threshold shifting due to oxide charge trapping in the MOS and the reduction of current gain in the bipolar transistor. In this letter, the IGBT macro-model incorporating irradiation is implemented, and the electrical characteristics are analyzed by SPICE simulation and experiments. In addition, the collector current characteristics as a function of gate emitter voltage, VGE, are compared with the model considering the radiation damage of different doses under positive biases.

Lateral impact behaviour of concrete-filled steel tubes with localised pitting corrosion

  • Steel corrosion induces structural deterioration of concrete-filled steel tubes (CFSTs), and any potential extreme action on a corroded CFST would pose a severe threat. This paper presents a comprehensive investigation on the lateral impact behaviour of CFSTs suffering from localised pitting corrosion damage. A refined finite element analysis model is developed for the simulation of locally corroded CFSTs subjected to lateral impact loads, which takes into account the strain rate effects on concrete and steel materials as well as the random nature of corrosion pits, i.e., the distribution patterns and the geometric characteristics. Full-range nonlinear analysis on the lateral impact behaviour in terms of loading and deforming time-history relations, nonlinear material stresses, composite actions, and energy dissipations are presented for CFSTs with no corrosion, uniform corrosion and pitting corrosion, respectively. Localised pitting corrosion is found to pose a more severe deterioration on the lateral impact behaviour of CFSTs due to the plastic deformation concentration, the weakened confinement and the reduction in energy absorption capacity of the steel tube. An extended parametric study is then carried out to identify the influence of the key parameters on the lateral impact behaviour of CFSTs with localised pitting corrosion. Finally, simplified design methods considering the features of pitting corrosion are proposed to predict the dynamic flexural capacity of locally pitted CFSTs subjected to lateral impact loads, and reasonable accuracy is obtained.

스프링-보 모형을 이용한 해양구조물 원통부재의 충돌 해석 (Analysis of Offshore Tubulars Subjected to Collision Impacts Using a Spring-Beam Model)

  • A simplified numerical procedure have proposed to trace the dynamic behaviour of offshore tubulars subjected to lateral collision impacts. The local denting and overall bending deformation of the struck tubular are represented by a non-linear spring and an elastic visco-plastic beam respectively. In this method a temporal finite difference method and a spacial finite element method are employed. Using this method various boundary conditions are able to considered and their effects on the extent of damage can be quantified. The extent of damage due to collision can be obtained as results of the dynamic analysis. The predictions using the proposed method have been correlated with existing test results and then the reliability of the procedure has been substantiated. The characteristics of the dynamic response of tubulars under lateral impacts are compared for simply supported roller and fixed end conditions and their effects on the extent of damage are specfied.

선수 구조부 구조해석 시스템 개발(1) - 파랑충격하중 특성의 추정 - (Development of Structural Analysis System of Bow Flare Structure(1) - Prediction of Wave Impact Load Characteristics -)

  • 대체로 황천 운행 시 선체와 파도의 상대적인 운동에 의하여 발생하는 파랑충격하중을 고려하여 선수 구조부를 설계하고 있다. 선수 구조부의 파랑충격현상은 대단히 복잡한 현상을 나타내고 있고 정확하게 규명하기 어렵기 때문에 경험적인 설계에 의존하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 첫 단계로서 동적 비선형 범용 프로그램 LS/DYNA3D를 이용하여 선수 구조부의 손상 자료로부터 역으로 파랑충격하중을 추정하고, 파랑충격압력 곡선의 극치, 지속시간, 후부높이, 극치발생시간 등과 같은 특징에 대한 파라메트 연구를 수행하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통하여 파랑충격하중에 대한 구조물의 동적 거동은 주로 충격압력역적에 의하여 영향을 받고, 또한 구조물에 최대 변형이 발생하기 이전에 가하여진 충격압력역적이 거동에 매우 큰 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
