A new method of numerical simulating prediction and decontamination effect evaluation for abrasive jet decontamination to radioactively contaminated metal is proposed. Based on the Computational Fluid Dynamics and Discrete Element Model (CFD-DEM) coupled simulation model, the motion patterns and distribution of abrasives can be predicted, and the decontamination effect can be evaluated by image processing and recognition technology. The impact of three key parameters (impact distance, inlet pressure, abrasive mass flow rate) on the decontamination effect is revealed. Moreover, here are experiments of reliability verification to decontamination effect and numerical simulation methods that has been conducted. The results show that: 60Co and other homogeneous solid solution radioactive pollutants can be removed by abrasive jet, and the average removal rate of Co exceeds 80%. It is reliable for the proposed numerical simulation and evaluation method because of the well goodness of fit between predicted value and actual values: The predicted values and actual values of the abrasive distribution diameter are Ф57 and Ф55; the total coverage rate is 26.42% and 23.50%; the average impact velocity is 81.73 m/s and 78.00 m/s. Further analysis shows that the impact distance has a significant impact on the distribution of abrasive particles on the target surface, the coverage rate of the core area increases at first, and then decreases with the increase of the impact distance of the nozzle, which reach a maximum of 14.44% at 300 mm. It is recommended to set the impact distance around 300 mm, because at this time the core area coverage of the abrasive is the largest and the impact velocity is stable at the highest speed of 81.94 m/s. The impact of the nozzle inlet pressure on the decontamination effect mainly affects the impact kinetic energy of the abrasive and has little impact on the distribution. The greater the inlet pressure, the greater the impact kinetic energy, and the stronger the decontamination ability of the abrasive. But in return, the energy consumption is higher, too. For the decontamination of radioactively contaminated metals, it is recommended to set the inlet pressure of the nozzle at around 0.6 MPa. Because most of the Co elements can be removed under this pressure. Increasing the mass and flow of abrasives appropriately can enhance the decontamination effectiveness. The total mass of abrasives per unit decontamination area is suggested to be 50 g because the core area coverage rate of the abrasive is relatively large under this condition; and the nozzle wear extent is acceptable.
The objective of this paper is to investigate the influence of impact conditions on the impact characteristics of the stainless sheet for the case of the fixed boundary conditions. In order to examine impact characteristics of the sheet, three-dimensional finite element analyses and impact tests have been performed. High speed tensile tests have been carried out to obtain strain-stress relationships including the effects of the strain rate. In order to improve an accuracy of the FE analysis, the hyper-elastic model and the damping factor have been introduced. The results of the FE analyses and the impact tests have been shown that the diameter of the impact head does not affect the absorption energy of the stainless sheet. In addition, it has been shown that the absorption rate of energy maintains almost $82.5\;\sim\;83.5\;%$ irrespective of the impact energy level and the diameter of the impact head. From the results of FE analyses, the variation of stress and strain energy in the stainless sheet has been quantitatively examined.

The exchange rate is considered a tool improving the volume of exports and reducing imports. This paper aims to determine the impact of the exchange rate on exports and imports between Vietnam and the United States in the context of the trade war. The research uses Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) and Nonlinear Autoregressive Distributed Lag (NARDL) Model in the time-series data from 2010:1 to 2020:9. The ARDL's results support that real exchange rate impact on export and import volumes, but less than the trade war. The trade war helps trade balance increase 0.35%, while the exchange rate increases trade balance 0.191% when the Vietnamese currency devalues 1% in the long run. In the short term, the real exchange rate makes the trade balance decrease. Therefore, the J curve exists between Vietnam and the U.S. The NARDL expresses that the exchange rate is asymmetric both in the short term and the long term. The findings of this study point to two important elements. Firstly, the exchange rate plays a minor role in exports and imports. Secondly, trade war plays a vital role in increasing exports and imports volume between two countries, and the J curve exists between the two countries.

This study is to examine the foreign direct investment (FDI) response to real effective exchange rate volatility in Vietnam by using the vector autoregression model. The research data are quarterly frequency data in the period from 2004:Q1 to 2019:Q2. The data on real effective exchange rate were collected from the statistics of Bruegel (Europe) and FDI data were collected from the International Financial Statistics. The quantitative study was conducted with two steps: (1) measuring exchange rate volatility by the GARCH(1,1) method; and (2) examining the impact of exchange rate volatility on FDI in the context of the global financial crisis. The estimation results show that FDI responded significantly to real exchange rate volatility with the lag of 3 periods at the 5% significance level. The FDI response increased after the exchange rate volatility with the lag of 3 periods, and the impact extended to the lag of 6 periods, and then gradually stabilized. The research findings indicate that FDI in Vietnam responds positively and significantly to exchange rate volatility with the lag of 3 periods. Simultaneously, the negative impact of the global financial crisis in 2008 with the lag of 2 periods leads to a slight decrease in FDI inflows into Vietnam.

The Impact ionization rate is highly anisotropic at low electron energy, while it becomes isotropic at higher energy range in which impact ionization events frequently accur. In this study, full energy band structure obtained by pseudopotential method and Fermi's golden rule is used to calculate impact ionization rate. The calculated impact ionization rate is well fitted to a modified Keldysh formular at 300K and 77K. Full band Monte Carlo simulator is made to investigate the validity of the GaAs impact ionization coefficients at 300K and 77K. Impart ionization process is isotropic under the condition of steady state since anisotrophy appears during very short time at look. Impart ionization coefficients is nearly constant and is anisotropic in electric field applied along the <110> direction at 77K.

Mass estimation analysis of loose-parts in pressure vessel is necessary for the structural integrity assessment of pressure boundary in nuclear power plants. Mass of loose-parts can be generally estimated from the peak values and the center frequency of impact signals. Magnitude of impact signals is, however, inevitably attenuated according to the traveling distance of the signals and depending on the frequencies. Attenuation rate must be therefore carefully compensated for the precise estimation of loose-part mass. This paper proposes a new compensation method for the attenuation rate based on Bessel function instead of Hankel function in conventional method which has a limitation of usage in near the impact location. It was verified that the suggested compensating equation based on the Bessel function can be applied to the attenuation rate calculation without any limitation.
Purpose: This study examined the impact factors of cesarean section based on the ecological approach in Korea. Methods: Population-based data (Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs) were used from 2,849 delivery cases during 2003~2009. Data were analyzed using geographic statistics with STATA 10.0 and hierarchical logistic regression with SPSS/WIN 12.0. Results: The range of cesarean section rate was 28.8~44.7% with geographic distribution. The proportion of mother's problem was increasing in choice of cesarean section. According to the ecological model, age of mother (OR=1.08), time of birth (OR=0.79), delivery in hospital (OR=1.83), delivery in clinic (OR=1.46), and education of mother (OR=2.61) had significant impact on cesarean section. Conclusion: This study contributes to provide the impact factors of the high cesarean rate in Korea ecologically. Policy maker and health care provider can consider these results to reduce cesarean section rate.

It is important to improve the initial launch conditions of golf ball at impact between golf club and ball to get a long flight distance. The flight distance is greatly influenced by the initial launch conditions such as ball speed, launch angle and back spin rate. It is also important to analyze the mechanism of ball spin to improve the initial conditions of golf ball. Back spin rate is created by the contact time and force. Previous studies showed that the contact force is determined as the resultant force of the reaction forces normal and tangential to the club face at the contact point. The normal force causes the compression and restitution of ball, and the tangential force creates the spin. Especially, the tangential force is known to take either positive or negative values as the ball rolls and slides along the club face during impact. Although the positive and negative tangential forces are known to create and reduce the back spin rate, respectively, the mechanism of ball spin creation has not yet been discussed in detail in the literature. In this paper, the influence of the contact force between golf club and ball is investigated to analyze the mechanism of impact. For this purpose, the contact force and time at impact between golf club head and ball are computed using FEM and compared with previous results. In addition, we investigate the impact phenomenon between golf club head and ball by FEM and clarify the mechanism of ball spin creation accurately, particularly focusing on the effect of negative tangential force on ball spin rate.
