  • The receptor activator of NF-${\kappa}B$ ligand (RANKL), a member of the tumor necrosis factor ligand family, has extensive functions beyond osteoclast development. RANKL is expressed in many immune cells such as osteoblasts, osteocytes, marrow stromal cells, activated T cells, synovial cells, keratinocytes, and mammary gland epithelial cells as well as in various tissues. The ligation of RANK by RANKL promotes dendritic cells (DCs) survival through prosurvival signals and the up-regulation of the anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-2 and Bcl-$x_L$ and plays a crucial role in DCs-mediated Th1 differentiation. Therefore, RANKL plays an important role in the regulation of DCs/T cells-mediated specific immunity. This review will briefly inform our current understanding of the role of RANKL signaling in T cells-DCs communication in the immune system.

  • Systemic autoinflammatory diseases (SAIDs) are characterized by unprovoked inflammatory episodes such as recurrent/periodic fever, serositis, skin lesions, abdominal symptoms, arthritis/arthralgia, and central nervous system involvement. Genetic diagnosis of SAIDs has been challenging because disease manifestations overlap among themselves and with other immunological disease categories, such as infection and autoimmune diseases. However, the advent of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and expanding knowledge about the innate immunity and inflammation have made the routine genetic diagnosis of SAIDs possible. Here, we review the recurrent/periodic fevers, other recently identified autoinflammatory diseases, and type I interferonopathies, and discuss the clinical usefulness of NGS targeted sequencing for SAIDs, and recent advance of understandings for this heterogeneous disease group as for underlying primary immunodeficiency.

  • In this article we propose using mathematical models of signals in wireless communication systems with autocorrelation reception of modulated ultra-wideband signals. For the transmission of information content, the method of positional-time coding is used, in which each information bit is encoded by hundreds of ultrashort pulses that arrive within a certain sequence. Comparative analysis has shown that the best noise immunity of the systems considered in this paper is the communication system, which uses the time separation of the reference and information signals.

  • The human body is continuously threatened by pathogens, and the immune system must maintain a balance between fighting infection and becoming over-activated. Mucosal surfaces cover several anatomically diverse organs throughout the body, such as the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts, and are directly exposed to the external environment. Various pathogens invade the body through mucosal surfaces, making the mucosa the frontline of immune defense. The immune systems of various mucosal tissues display distinctive features that reflect the tissues' anatomical and functional characteristics. This review discusses the cellular components that constitute the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts; in particular, it highlights the complex interactions between epithelial and immune cells to induce Ag-specific immune responses in the lung and gut. This information on mucosal immunity may facilitate understanding of the defense mechanisms against infectious agents that invade mucosal surfaces, such as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, and provide insight into effective vaccine development.

  • We describe the effects of additional feedback in external cavity semiconductor lasers, which are sensitive to feedback phase. It is shown that additional feedback with favorable phase can serve to enhance mode selectivity. The optimum feedback conditions to maximize the system immunity against unwanted additional feedback with unfavorable phase have also been determined.

  • A nature immunity system responds sensitively to an external invasion with various functions in a lot of bodies, besides it there is a function to remember information to have been currently infected. we propose a hybrid model similar to immune system which combine with the antibody which applied genetic algorithm as select antibody and the arbitrary abnormal system call sequence that applied negative selection of a nature immunity system. A proposed model uses an arbitrary abnormal system Kol sequence in order to reduce a positive defect and a negative defect. Data used to experiment are send mail data processed UNM (University of New Maxico). The negative defect that an experiment results proposal model judged system call more abnormal than the existing negative selection to normal system call appeared 0.55% low.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine how norepinephrine affects immunity in patients over age 65. Methods: We enrolled 25 male and female subjects age 65 or older. A low frequency electroacupuncture (EA) device was used to stimulate acupoint Hogu (L14). The 2 Hz frequency EA was applied to the acupoint for 20 minutes. Leukocyte subtypes-including neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophil-were then measured. The immunoglobulins IgG and IgM were also quantified. The data were finally analyzed using Wilcoxon singed-rank test and regression test as part of the SPSS WIN v. 10.1 program. Results: As norepinephrine levels decreased after EA stimulation, neutrophil, lymphocyte, and monocyte levels increased, and eosinophil and neutrophils levels decreased. Neutrophil and monocyte levels did not change to a statistically significant degree, but eosinophil levels showed a statistically significant decrease (p<0.05). Immunoglobulin IgG showed a statistically significant increase (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study showed that norepinephrine does affect immunity in persons over the age of 65. This indicates that there is an interaction between the nervous system and the immune system, and interaction that plays a crucial roles in the body's immune resistance and homeostasis.
