  • Flagship store has rapidly come into being is the typical tool of brand-communication between enterprises and consumers. Flagstore comprised of a lot of tastes delivers brand-image and builds brand- identity. this research on the ground of Semiotics by Pierce, examined closely the connections between two tastes and analyzed the brand-image had prodused through tastes. The method study restricts the four analytical subjects of the fashion-brands have successfully built brand-image and identity and arranges each brand - identity and constructive strategy. After that, it analyzes the examples of Flagstore on the ground of Semiotics. The purpose of this research focuses how the tastes will have occurred on the Flagstore will express and analyze the brand -identities and presents a methodology it will be able to designe.

  • An approach method of the semiotics theory is analyzing fashion: the look is that a sign represents one character and the image is interpreted as the destination of the changes. The fashion image interpretation by semiotics is possible because the fashion phenomenon by society has been accumulated in their abbreviation code. It is not possible to produce contradictions of the human imagination coined solution. The myth relieved to people, allowanced a meaning in the world and explained it have been unable to explain and protect us. Today's role of the world myth becomes the star's future. Public resting star's fashion image analysis promote that we understand the inherent desire. Madonna probably is one of the world's most famous women.   • The analysis category of Art to Wear was text analyzed from the research material of 100 projects put together by fashion specialist. The conclusion of Art to Wear was comprehended the general features of it were compared and analyzed from a semiotics context. According to this analysis, the formative features of modern Art to Wear is categorized into three different dimensions from a semiotics light. The formative features of modem Art to Wear in the light of syntactic dimension was divided as an open constructed shape of Space Extension, non-typical Deformation, Geometrical Plasticity. The formative features of modem Art to Wear in the light of semantic dimension express symbolic meaning through metaphorical sign. These sign reflect the body image of the life and death and its objective of Abjection, Hybrid of discultural appearance and the image of Hyper-reality, which are features used to comprehend the inner meaning. The formative features of modem Art to Wear in the light of pragmatic dimension divided the artist emotion and meaning system delivered by Emotive Image, the Phatic Image that arouse inner signification and the Poetic Image which contain artistic and aesthetic meaning within it.

퍼어스 기호론과 심볼마크의 이해 (A Study on the Peirce's Semiotics and Understanding of Symbol Marks)

  • 본 연구는 방대한 기호학 학문과 영역 탓에 이해하기 어렵고 또한 명확하지 않은 기호학 분야의 연구에서 찰스 샌더스 퍼스(Charles Sanders Peirce)의 기호학을 명확히 이해하고, 그의 기호학적인 연구의 업적을 아이덴티티 디자인 분야에 활용 할 수 있도록 연구 결과를 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 연구는 기존의 기호학과 관련된 디자인관련 논문들을 재 고찰하고, 퍼스의 삼원적 기호학에 대한 진의와 범주에 대한 이해를 통해서 기업의 심볼마크를 설명하였다. 이 결과를 통해서 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 1) 심볼마크는 관습적으로 한 제품, 서비스, 기업 자체를 의미하며 따라서 표현체적인 측면에서는 법칙 기호이다. 2) 심볼마크는 하나의 기호로서 대상체를 상징하므로 대상체의 세범주적 구분에 의해서 상징 기호이다. 3) 퍼스의 기호학적 정의에서 볼 때, 기업의 심볼마크는 사회적인 규칙을 통해서 존재하므로, 이는 논항 기호로 이해가 되어야만 한다. 4) 기업의 심볼마크는 과거부터 기업 혹은 조직들이 사용해 온 것이고, 대중들은 이를 어느 정도 인식하고 있다. 따라서 기업이 자신의 제품에 심볼마크를 부착하고 대중에게 표상체로서 심볼마크를 보이는 것은 개별적이고 구체적인 사실, 즉 있는 그대로의 사실로서 작용한다. 따라서 심볼마크는 해석체적인 측면의 발화 지시적인 개별기호이다. 퍼어스의 기호학적인 측면에서의 심볼마크의 분류와 이해는 기호의 다양한 상호관계와 연계를 가지는 범주의 법칙과 여러 유형에 대한 이해를 단지 조형적인 측면에서의 구분이 아닌 개념적으로 또한 포괄적인 이해를 요구한다.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 한국 전통문양을 커뮤니케이션의 기본단위로 상정하기 위해 이들이 지니는 기호학적 의의를 고찰하고, 이미지를(Image) 중심으로 분류하여 전통문양의 현대화 작업에 기여하기 위함이다. 상기 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구팀은 한국전통문양의 이미지 기호학적 고찰을 시도하고, 이에 근거한 분류 모형을 제시할 것이다.

패스트 패션 브랜드의 지속가능성 관련 광고 영상에 대한 기호학적 분석 (Semiotic Analysis of Advertising Video Related to the Sustainability of Fast Fashion Brands)

  • This paper examines the use of semiotics for analyzing fashion advertisements in the fast fashion industry. While previous studies have explored the use of semiotics in various industries, the application of this theory in the fashion sector-especially regarding fast fashion's commercial videos related to sustainability-remains underexplored. The paper adopts Roland Barthes' Semiotics Theory to analyze the advertising videos related to the sustainability of major fast fashion brands such as H&M, MANGO, and ZARA. The research approach involved reviewing all commercial videos related to sustainability on these brands' official YouTube accounts and conducting comprehensive analyses of advertisements using the binary opposition analysis framework. The paper's findings indicate that these commercial videos serve as a platform to mold a brand's sustainability image and promote the notion that fast fashion brands are leading the charge toward sustainability, preparing for an unpredictable future, guiding people toward hope, and offering ultimate freedom. This research high-lights the necessity for a critical examination of advertising videos related to sustainability in the fast fashion industry to guarantee accountability and transparency.

퍼스의 기호학적 관점에서의 BTS 이미지 분석 (Analysis of BTS Images From Peirce's Semiotic Perspective)

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis BTS's image based on Peirce's semiotics. Methodologies of this study are literature study to analyze the structure of idol image based on Peirce's theory of signs, case study and FGI analyzing the semiotic characteristics of BTS images. The research results of analyzing the semiotic features of BTS images by period of the BTS album are as follows. First, in the early days of their debut, they emphasized the image of hip-hop and expressed their will to resist and rebel against the older generation with a challenging and strong image. Second, during the 'The most beautiful day of life' period, image of wandering, rebellion, growth, and youth of teenagers was expressed. Third, in the 'Love Yourself' period, BTS showed various image changes between natural and pure image to splendid image by expressing the process of finding confidence during chaotic moment of growing. Fourth, during the 'Map of the Soul' period, the exploration and reflection on themselves were expressed in an outwardly splendid and bright manner, while at the same time expressing the inner darkness in a contrasting manner. Fifth, in the 'pandemic period', they expressed hopeful energy and willness with the image of mature and attractive man and bright and casual image. Their growth and change have been directly linked to the change of their image, and their image showed a successful signification with complementary combination of icons, indexes, and symbols.

  • Web sites have become one of most important factor for sales products as well as advertising communications in these days. So numerous web sites have been developed for corporations and brands. It is not easy to getting more attention as a prominent web site expression among various types of numerous web sites. Due to the voluminous expansion of visual communications and the change of the media. new advertising creative must be needed for serving to differentiate the message, inviting audiences to participate more positively in Web site communications. This thesis aims at reviewing images and semiotics for analyzing web sites. And this thesis is about the significations of web sites for some of supreme brands. Chapter I describes the aim of this thesis about the signification of web sites, especially concentrate on the intro-pages of worldwide supreme brands. such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, and Burberry. And Chapter II introduces the general concept of Image and Semiotics. Chapter III deals with the signification of the web sites with introducing semiotic methods such as the theory of R. Barthes. Chapter IV discusses the signification of Images of web sites as an advertising creative talking into consideration of semiotic theories. And this thesis analyze almost all visual images and verbal message by the theory of R. Barthes. In this matrix, a. particular image of web site can be analyzed into its basic structure of pictorial and word elements , i. e., into the representations the viewer uses and identifies. It's my belief that one of aesthetic engineering approaches such as Semantic Differential Method and semiotic approaches such as the Interpretant Matrix for advertising design images provide basic methods which is about defining the process of constructing and coding the advertising images as well as analyzing and decoding advertising expressions. So I suggest these kinds of studies on the images of web sites as well as advertising design images.

The Design and Communication Strategy of Virtual Idols "Luo Tianyi(洛天依)"

  • The digital age start in earnest with the widespread use of the Internet. As a digital product, virtual idols bring new value to the design and dissemination of commercial brand images. "Luo Tianyi" is the world's first avatar and VOCALOID voice bank of Chinese. It has a large number of fans in China and is widely used in brand promotion. Therefore, "Luo Tianyi" is taken as the research object. Initially, we investigated the virtual idols through books, literature on the internet and other materials. Then we discussed semiotics and theories related to culture code brand design methodology (CCBD). After that, putting the above theories into practice, combined with brand design cases, we analyzed the strategy of virtual idols in brand promotion and dissemination, at last, we have the conclusion as followed. The results show that the virtual idols, visual symbol of "Luo Tianyi" can express the Index and Symbol corresponding to the brand information according to the characteristics of the brand. As an image of cultural code, "Luo Tianyi" can present three visual images at the same time, which are contemporary, traditional and future. In addition, these three visual images are presented in a strong and weak combination, which has a positive impact on the visual communication of the brand.
