  • This study introduces integrated approach on detection of a leakage in a sea wall based on remote sensing, electric resistivity survey, electromagnetic survey, and borehole survey for the Seosan A-Region sea wall. The satellite temperature distribution from Landsat ETM+ data identifies water leakage distribution and period by analyzing temperature mixing patterns between sea water and fresh water. Electric resistivity survey provides both horizontal and vertical anomaly distributions over the sea wall showing below average electric resistivity. Electromagnetic survey(electrical conductivity survey) reveals the potential possible leakage areas with minimal background impact by comparing electrical conductivity values between high and low tides. Borehole image processing system confirmed the locations of anomalies identified from the other survey methods and distributions of vertical fracture zones. The integrated approach identified 41.7% of the sea wall being the most probable area vulnerable to water leakage and effectively approximated both horizontal and vertical distribution of water leakage. The integrated analysis of remote sensing, electric resistivity survey, electromagnetic survey and borehole survey is considered to be an optimal method in identifying water leakage distribution, period, and extent of fractures knowledged from the boreholes.

  • A secondary injection system in a diesel engine has benefits: it can be controlled independently without interrupting engine control, it can be adapted to various layouts for exhaust systems, and it pose no reductant dilution problems compared to post injection systems in the combustion chamber or other supplemental reductant injections. In a secondary injection system, the efficiency of the catalyst depends on the method of reducing the supply. The reductant needs to be maintained and optimized with constant pressure, the positions and angles of injector is a very important factor. The concentration and amount of reductant can be changed by adjusting secondary injection conditions. However, secondary injection is highly dependent upon the type of injector, injection pressure, atomization, spray technology, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to establish injection conditions the spray characteristics must be well-understood, such as spray penetration, sauter mean diameter, spray angle, injection quantity, etc. Uniform distribution of the reductant corresponding to the maximum NOx reduction in the DeNOx catalyst system must also assured. With this goal in mind, the spray characteristics and impingement plate types of a secondary injector were analyzed using visualization and digital image processing techniques.

  • In the rapidly changing 21st century, image management has become more important. Under these circumstances, as a lot of hair colors and beaching agents are used to create diverse hair colors, hair damage resulting from frequent chemical hair coloring has been inevitable. This study investigated how to reduce morphological changes in hair and hair damage after dividing hair into healthy hair('Group A') and damaged hair('Group B'), using the following bleaching agents: basic bleaching agent(a), beaching agent diluted with water(b), oil ingredient-added bleaching agent(c), water-shampoo mixed bleaching agent(d). The results found that even though hair damage can be prevented by a bleaching agent diluted with a mixture of diverse additives, there were better effects on hair texture in both 'Group A(4.83)' and 'Group B(4.41)' at a sensory test when hair was bleached with an addition of Camellia oil, according to blinded experiment, in particular. As a result, hair damage could be reduced. Therefore, this study expects that hair bleaching with an addition of Camellia oil to the mixture of a bleaching agent would bring the development of diverse new materials which can minimize hair damage as well as regulate hair brightness and make a contribution to the development of cosmetology market.

  • This report does studied for making the method of conserving bracket murals in Daeungjeon of Jikjisa Temple, through the scientific way. Results of evaluated the conservation status at the braket mural paintings, most serious damage is structural damage like cracks, breakage, and delamination. After optical investigation, a characteristic point wasn't found such as underdrawing or traces of a coat of paint. The ultrasonic examination speed by each wall painting was measured from about 195.8 m/s to 392.7 m/s, according to the location of the surface, and it was able to compare the surface properties according to the location. In Infrared-thermal image measurement shows that wall layer separation and paint layer delamination are closely detected, therefore it was able to judge of damage on the objective way. Material analysis revealed that the walls were made by sand and weathering soil. The wall layer combined sand with less than fine sand size by nearly 5:5, and the finishing layer was found to have mixed medium sand and fine sand at approximately 6:4 rates. However, In case of finishing layer, mixing ratios of sizes less than very fine sand were found to be significantly lower than wall. Therefore, it is estimated that the plysical damage such as the separation between the layers of the walls created in the braket mural paintings, is continuously caused by changes in the internal stresses and volume ratio caused by the density differences between the wall and the finishing layers.

  • In order to investigate the formation of a shallow water front and its relation to water quality distributions, oceanographic measurements were made, and the numerical computations of the Simpson-Hunter stratification parameter log(H/U$^3$) were performed. It is shown from satellite image and hydrographic data that the shallow water front is formed near the northern Kaduk channel, and the stratification parameter log(H/U$^3$) near the front is in a range of 2.0-2.5. Measured COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) concentrations in offshore region of the front and in the western part of the bay are below 2.0 mg/1. whereas the concentrations in Masan Bay located in the northern inside of the frontal zone are high as 3.0-5.5 mg/1. COD concentrations decrease gradually from Masan Bay toward the offshore due to the dilution by strong water mixing. Anoxic and hypoxic water masses at the bottom layer in summcr occur in the western part of Chinhae Bay and in Masan Bay, and DO (Dissolved Oxygen) concentrations become low with increasing the stratification parameter. DO concentrations outside the front are more than about 4.0 mg/1, whereas the concentrations inside the front are low. The shallow water front plays a significant role for material transport from coastal area to oceanic area, and the frontal region seems to be important physical and chemical boundaries.

  • In this study, experiments were conducted to investigate the compressive·flexural performances of single fiber-reinforced mortar (FRM) using only steel fiber or carbon fiber which has different material properties as well as hybrid FRM using a mixture of steel and carbon fibers. The mortar specimens incorporated steel and carbon fibers in the mix proportions of 1+0%, 0.75+0.25%, 0.5+0.5%, 0.25+0.75% and 0+1% by volume at a total volume fraction of 1.0%. Their mechanical performance was compared and examined with a plain mortar without fiber at 28 days of age. The experiments of mortar showed that the hybrid FRM using a mixture of 0.75% steel fibers + 0.25% carbon fibers had the highest compressive and flexural strength, confirming by thus the synergistic reinforcing effect of the hybrid FRM. On the contrast, in the case of hybrid FRM using a mixture of 0.5% steel fibers + 0.5% carbon fibers witnessed the highest flexural toughness, suggesting as a result the optimal fiber mixing ratio of hybrid FRM to improve the strength and flexural toughness at the same time. Moreover, the fracture surface was observed through a scanning electron microscope (SEM) for image analysis of the FRM specimen. These results were of great help for images analysis of hybrid reinforcing fibers in cement matrix.

  • Recently, the demand of labels for product management is increasing, as the automation system becomes more common. the development of functional labels which can be used in various environments has been rapidly proceeded. In the case of a printed circuit board, barcode labels with thermal and chemical stability are generally used due to a high temperature process around $300^{\circ}C$ and chemical cleaning in the manufacturing process. However, the yellowing phenomenon of labels that can lower the resolution of printed barcode image still needs to be prevented. In this study, we prepared a composite coating layer using a silica inorganic binder and a titanium dioxide white pigment, and developed a functional labels with thermal and chemical stability. The silica inorganic binder prepared by sol-gel process was confirmed to show excellent adhesion and abrasion resistance with the polyimide film. The white coating layer could be formed on the polyimide film with mixing the silica inorganic binder and titanium dioxide white pigment. The prepared coating layer showed excellent whiteness and glossiness above $400^{\circ}C$. The excellent chemical stability of the coating layer was also confirmed by the chemical treatment with acidic (pH 1.6) and basic (pH 13.6) cleaners.

  • There have been continuous controversies on medical X-ray protection and numerous researchers have been trying to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation. As X-ray passes through the patient and obtains an image, it creates scattered ray due to interactions such as photoelectric effect and Compton scattering with the subject. As a result, both medical radiation staff and patient are exposed to unnecessary radiation on areas other than the target area. In response, this study will be assuming a body of a female, radiating X-ray on the phantom under the conditions of lumbar spine AP test, and measuring scattered ray around breasts and thyroid glands. Then, The experiment results were as follows. After application of non-shielding material, the average of scattered ray was 0.88 mR in thyroid measurement, 3.34 mR, Lt Axillary 3.54 mR, and Rt Axillary 3.03 mR in mamonary measurement but, After application of shielding material, the average of scattered ray was 0.16 mR in thyroid measurement, 0.60 mR, Lt Axillary 0.64 mR, and Rt Axillary 0.54 mR in mamonary measurement showing average scattered ray protection effect of about 82%. This study suggested the manufacturing method of a Jelly-type shielding material, identified the possibilities of researches on mixing various substances with radiology field, and verified the usability of the Jelly-type shielding material as a substitute for existing protection tools.

  • In this study, the quality characteristics of Jeung-pyun with different amounts of Makgeolli (50, 100, 150, and 200 mL) were investigated, and standardization of the Jeung-pyun production process is suggested. Higher Makgeolli contents resulted in an increase in Jeung-pyun qualities such as the b value, air cell size, springiness, and cohesiveness, whereas Jeung-pyun characteristics such as the L values, pH, number of air cells, hardness, and gumminess significantly decreased. The specific volume was highest following method M-150, and the expansion rate was lowest following method M-200. Altering the Makgeolli content did not significantly differ in moisture content and b values. In the sensory evaluation results, the M-150 method produced the highest-ranking results for all tested items (i.e., overall acceptability, appearance, flavor, taste, and texture). Therefore, this study suggests that Jueng-pyun produced with the M-150 mixing ratio has excellent quality and sensory characteristics. Furthermore, the results of this study can be used as preliminary data for the standardization of Jueng-pyun production.

  • This study deals with the relationship among trust, attachment and brand loyalty of agricultural products' rice co-brands, which are the staple food of the people. The research method established the hypothesis of the study under the foundation of prior research and developed the survey. The subjects of the study were distributed, retrieved, and analyzed the survey of 163 rice farmers in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. The empirical analysis results show that: First, hypothesis 1 of the brand awareness and image that "rice brand assets will be a positive relationship to trust" were statistically adopted. In particular, statistical t values showed a difference in consumer confidence over recognition>images. Second, hypothesis 2 of the trust of agricultural rice brands will be a positive influence on attachment and loyalty' statistically supported. In this regard, brand trust was higher in loyalty than attachment. Third, the attachment of agricultural products to rice brands will be a positive influence on loyalty,' was statistically supported. The strategic implications of this study are as follows. First, consumers should be given clues of trust(ex, GAP of Natioanl Approval Licesing, Fam Tour) as they distrust the perceived quality of the rice in the market. Second, the effect of the origin of rice is questionable, so the spread of the production power system should prevent the mixing of rice varieties, that is the spread of the production history systems.
