  • This paper proposes a progressive Image transmission method with a variable magnification hierarchical structure for image processing system. As Introduced in the literature, the progressive image transmission method, uses a fixed magnification rates of either 4 or 1/4. Thus, a sudden in-crease In resolution Is obtained due to a sudden Increase in information. By adapting a variable magnification hlerarchical structure In this research, a gradual increase in resolution Is possible by slowly inrireasing information between hierarchical levels. The simulation results show that a 5.7dB SNR improvemr'nt Is obtained with an Improved compression rate by 0.7 Ult /pel compare to the LP method. It also gives about 1 dB SNR improvement compare to the PCS method at intermediate hierarchical levels.

  • It does not exist almost that Most satellite image has both high spectral and spatial resolution. In order to apply the satellite image for to be actual, we need numerical and analytical technique development to improve the resolution. Specially in the function of solid illustration, we represent the solid image through the image generation to solid screen. The main function includes magnification, reduction, screen center movement, Panning, territory magnification. The method to process the image includes histogram and contrast modulation. Afterwards, we will develop the function includes 3-dimension cursor to control the elevation position and calculate the ground coordination automatically. There is the layer control includes the representation and the edition of 3D vector, extraction the Z value by On the Ground and digital elevation.

  • Recently, there are a lot of multimedia products to using image interpolation system. However, most interpolation systems in existence suffer visually to some extents the effects of blurred edges and jagged artifacts in the image. I in this paper, we propose the adaptive linear interpolation system that uses the sub-pixel. We system calculate the warped distance among the pixels of an image, and use data for Optimize length parameter. Our experimental results show that our new algorithm significantly outperforms linear interpolation in subjective quality, and in most cases, in terms of PSNR as well.

  • The purpose of this study was investigated optimal exposure condition in digital magnification mammography to decrease radiation dose and increase image quality of the examinee. Auto mode, the average glandular dose is higher than the manual mode. Average glandular dose and image quality were many differences on between grid and air gap technique in auto mode. However, Average glandular dose and signal-to-noise ratio were not different on between grid and air gap technique in manual mode. The signal-to-noise ratio was increased when using the air-gap technique in both mode. According to result, air gap technique may reduce average glandular dose and increase signal-to-noise ratio in digital magnification mammography.

  • In this paper, I proposed an effective technique for accurately predicting pixel values using edge components. Adjacent pixel values are similar to each other. That is, generally, similarity exists between adjacent pixels in an image. In the proposed algorithm, edge components are detected using the surrounding pixels in the first step, and pixel values are estimated using the edge components in the second step. Therefore, the prediction accuracy of the pixel value is improved and the prediction error is reduced. Pixel value prediction is a necessary technique for various applications such as image magnification and confidential data concealment. Experimental results show that the proposed method has higher prediction accuracy and fewer prediction error. Therefore, the proposed technique can be effectively used for applications such as image magnification and confidential data concealment.

  • This paper proposes a profilometry system for precise surface contouring of 3D objects using a direc- tionally magnified image of a laser light stripe. The resolution of this system can be improved several times comparad with that of conventional systems without loss of spatial resolution and depth of measurement. A pair of cylindrical lens(a convex lens and a concave lens) are used for a directionally magnified image of a laser light stripe maintaining the same focal plane. Also, image processing procedures for image reconstruc- tions are described.

  • A change in object distance would generally change the magnification of an optical system. In this paper, we have proposed and designed a double-Gauss optical system with a fixed magnification and image surface regardless of any change in object distance, according to moving the lens groups a little bit to the front and rear of the stop, independently parallel to the direction of the optical axis. By maintaining a constant size of image formation in spite of various object-distance changes in a projection system such as a head-up display (HUD) or head-mounted display (HMD), we can prevent the field of view from changing while focusing in an HUD or HMD. Also, to check precisely the state of the wiring that connects semiconductor chips and IC circuit boards, we can keep the magnification of the optical system constant, even when the object distance changes due to vertical movement along the optical axis of a testing device. Additionally, if we use this double-Gauss optical system as a vision system in the testing process of lots of electronic boards in a manufacturing system, since we can systematically eliminate additional image processing for visual enhancement of image quality, we can dramatically reduce the testing time for a fast test process. Also, the Gaussian bracket method was used to find the moving distance of each group, to achieve the desired specifications and fix magnification and image surface simultaneously. After the initial design, the optimization of the optical system was performed using the Synopsys optical design software.

  • In natural images, there is generally locality, and the values of adjacent pixels are similar. It is possible to estimate the curved surface characteristics of the original image using adjacent pixels having similar pixel values. In this paper, after precisely estimating the characteristics of the curved surface existing in the image, interpolation values are obtained so as to faithfully reflect the estimated characteristics of the curved surface, We propose an effective image enlarging method that generates an enlarged image using the obtained interpolation values. The image enlarged by the proposed method maintains the curved surface characteristics of the original image, and thus the image quality of the enlarged image is improved. Experimental results show that the image quality of the proposed method is superior to that of the conventional techniques.

  • An alternative description for the Gaussian image plane (GIP) of an optical system for a given object is presented, which applies to both aberration-free and non-aberration-free systems. We extend the definition of transverse magnification (TM) to the image plane (IP) displaced from the GIP and find that the TM depends linearly on the locations of both an aperture stop placed in front of the system and the IP. Hence, we redefine the GIP as the location at which the slope of the TM variance changes sign. The definition is deterministic and self-consistent and, therefore, no other parameters or measurements are needed. The derivation of this definition using a set of paraxial ray tracings and supporting experimental data for a thick bi-convex lens system is presented.
