  • This paper proposes an image detection algorithm to implement gesture. By using a camera sensor, the performance of the extracted image algorithm based on the gesture pattern was verified through experiments. In addition, through the experiments, we confirmed the proposed method's possibility of the implementation. For efficient image detection, we applied a segmentation technique based on image transition which divides into small units. To improve gesture recognition, the proposed method not only has high recognition rate and low false acceptance rate in real gesture environment, but also designed an algorithm that efficiently finds optimal thresholds that can be applied.

  • The target detection algorithm based on supervised learning is the current mainstream algorithm for target detection. A high-quality dataset is the prerequisite for the target detection algorithm to obtain good detection performance. The larger the number and quality of the dataset, the stronger the generalization ability of the model, that is, the dataset determines the upper limit of the model learning. The convolutional neural network optimizes the network parameters in a strong supervision method. The error is calculated by comparing the predicted frame with the manually labeled real frame, and then the error is passed into the network for continuous optimization. Strongly supervised learning mainly relies on a large number of images as models for continuous learning, so the number and quality of images directly affect the results of learning. This paper proposes a dataset STAR-24K (meaning a dataset for Space TArget Recognition with more than 24,000 images) for detecting common targets in space. Since there is currently no publicly available dataset for space target detection, we extracted some pictures from a series of channels such as pictures and videos released by the official websites of NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and ESA (The European Space Agency) and expanded them to 24,451 pictures. We evaluate popular object detection algorithms to build a benchmark. Our STAR-24K dataset is publicly available at https://github.com/Zzz-zcy/STAR-24K.

  • In a real-time indoor place recognition system using image features detection, specific markers included in input image should be detected exactly and quickly. However because the same markers in image are shown up differently depending to movement, direction and angle of camera, it is required a method to solve such problems. This paper proposes a technique to extract the features of object without regard to change of the object scale. To support real-time operation, it adopts SURF(Speeded up Robust Features) which enables fast feature detection. Another feature of this system is the user mark designation which makes possible for user to designate marks from input image for location detection in advance. Unlike to use hardware marks, the feature above has an advantage that the designated marks can be used without any manipulation to recognize location in input image.

  • A recently research, object detection and segmentation have emerged as crucial technologies widely utilized in various fields such as autonomous driving systems, surveillance and image editing. This paper proposes a program that utilizes the QT framework to perform real-time object detection and precise instance segmentation by integrating YOLO(You Only Look Once) and Mask R CNN. This system provides users with a diverse image editing environment, offering features such as selecting specific modes, drawing masks, inspecting detailed image information and employing various image processing techniques, including those based on deep learning. The program advantage the efficiency of YOLO to enable fast and accurate object detection, providing information about bounding boxes. Additionally, it performs precise segmentation using the functionalities of Mask R CNN, allowing users to accurately distinguish and edit objects within images. The QT interface ensures an intuitive and user-friendly environment for program control and enhancing accessibility. Through experiments and evaluations, our proposed system has been demonstrated to be effective in various scenarios. This program provides convenience and powerful image processing and editing capabilities to both beginners and experts, smoothly integrating computer vision technology. This paper contributes to the growth of the computer vision application field and showing the potential to integrate various image processing algorithms on a user-friendly platform

  • Due to the development and dissemination of modern technology, anyone can easily communicate using services such as social network service (SNS) through a personal computer (PC) or smartphone. The development of these technologies has caused many beneficial effects. At the same time, bad effects also occurred, one of which was the spam problem. Spam refers to unwanted or rejected information received by unspecified users. The continuous exposure of such information to service users creates inconvenience in the user's use of the service, and if filtering is not performed correctly, the quality of service deteriorates. Recently, spammers are creating more malicious spam by distorting the image of spam text so that optical character recognition (OCR)-based spam filters cannot easily detect it. Fortunately, the level of transformation of image spam circulated on social media is not serious yet. However, in the mail system, spammers (the person who sends spam) showed various modifications to the spam image for neutralizing OCR, and therefore, the same situation can happen with spam images on social media. Spammers have been shown to interfere with OCR reading through geometric transformations such as image distortion, noise addition, and blurring. Various techniques have been studied to filter image spam, but at the same time, methods of interfering with image spam identification using obfuscated images are also continuously developing. In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based spam image detection model to improve the existing OCR-based spam image detection performance and compensate for vulnerabilities. The proposed model extracts text features and image features from the image using four sub-models. First, the OCR-based text model extracts the text-related features, whether the image contains spam words, and the word embedding vector from the input image. Then, the convolution neural network-based image model extracts image obfuscation and image feature vectors from the input image. The extracted feature is determined whether it is a spam image by the final spam image classifier. As a result of evaluating the F1-score of the proposed model, the performance was about 14 points higher than the OCR-based spam image detection performance.

  • Object recognition is to identify the location and class of a specific object by analyzing the given image when a specific image is input. One of the fields in which object recognition technology is actively applied in recent years is autonomous vehicles, and this paper describes the trend of image-based object recognition artificial intelligence technology in autonomous vehicles. The image-based object detection algorithm has recently been narrowed down to two methods (a single-step detection method and a two-step detection method), and we will analyze and organize them around this. The advantages and disadvantages of the two detection methods are analyzed and presented, and the YOLO/SSD algorithm belonging to the single-step detection method and the R-CNN/Faster R-CNN algorithm belonging to the two-step detection method are analyzed and described. This will allow the algorithms suitable for each object recognition application required for autonomous driving to be selectively selected and R&D.

  • This paper presents a method for detecting skin tumors on chicken carcasses using hyperspectral images. It utilizes both fluorescence and reflectance image information in hyperspectral images. A detection system that is built on this concept can increase detection rate and reduce processing time. Chicken carcasses are examined first using band ratio FCM information of fluorescence image and it results in candidate regions for skin tumor. Next classifier selects the real tumor spots using PCA components information of reflectance image from the candidate regions.

  • This paper is concerned with a local detection of road on an airborne SAR image. The roads can be characterized by their geometry and radiometry. Roads are assumed as linear, thin, and elongated objects that are darker than their surroundings on an airborne SAR image. With these assumptions, a series of morphological filters are applied and tested successively. This approach is simple and almost non parametric and has been successfully applied to an airborne SAR image.

  • We proposed a fast detection of copy-move image forgery using four step search algorithm in the spatial domain. In the four-step search algorithm, the search area is 21 (-10 ~ +10), and the number of pixels to be scanned is 33. Our algorithm reduced computational complexity more than conventional copy move image forgery methods. The proposed method reduced 92.34 % of computational complexity compare to exhaustive search algorithm.
