Therefore the use of Hadamard transform in the image processing requires only the real number operations and results in the computational advantages. Recently, however, certain degradation aspects have been reported. In this paper we propose a WH matrixtwhich retains the main properties of Hadamard matrix. The actual improvement of the image transmission in the inner part of the picture has been demonstrated by the computer simulated image developments. The orthogonal transforms such as Hadamard transform offers a useful facility in the digital signal processing. As the size of the transmission block increases, however, the assignment of bits for each data must increase exponentially. Thus the SNR of the image tends to decline accordingly. As an attempt to increase the SNR, we propose the WH matrix whose elements are made of ${\pm}$1, ${\pm}$2, ${\pm}$3, ${\pm}$4, and the unitform is 8${\times}$8 matrix.

This paper describes transformations between elemental image arrays and a RGBD image for three-dimensional integral imaging and transmitting systems. Two transformations are introduced and analyzed in the proposed method. Normally, a RGBD image is utilized in efficient 3D data transmission although 3D imaging and display is restricted. Thus, a pixel-to-pixel mapping is required to obtain an elemental image array from a RGBD image. However, transformations and their analysis have little attention in computational integral imaging and transmission. Thus, in this paper, we introduce two different mapping methods that are called as the forward and backward mapping methods. Also, two mappings are analyzed and compared in terms of complexity and visual quality. In addition, a special condition, named as the hole-free condition in this paper, is proposed to understand the methods analytically. To verify our analysis, we carry out experiments for test images and the results indicate that the proposed methods and their analysis work in terms of the computational cost and visual quality.

In this paper, we propose a lossless progressive image transmission scheme using hierarchical pyramid structure and classified vector quantizer in DCT domain. By adopting DCT to the hierarchical pyramid signals, we can reduce the spatial redundance. Moreover, the DCT coefficients can be encoded efficiently by using classified vector quantizer in DCT domain. The classifier is simply based on the variance of a subblock. Also, the mirror set of training set of images can improve the robustness of codebooks. Progressive image transmission can be achieved through following processes: from top to bottom level of planes in a pyramid, and from high to low AC variance class in a plane. Some simulation results with real images show that the proposed coding scheme yields a good performance at below 0.3 bpp and an excellent result at 0.409 bpp. The proposed coding scheme is well suited for lossless progressive image transmission as well as image data compression.

In this paper, development of the Image Transmission and Receiving System(ITRS) for UAV is being introduced. ITRS can tranfer the imagery informations from UAV to the multiple sites at the same time. Analog video signal is encoded by using MPEG4 protocol at the Image Transmission System, and the encoded digital video data can be transmitted to the various locations where the Image Receiving System decodes and displays the received video data. The ITRS might be a very efficient method of sharing UAV's information at a low cost.

This paper proposes a new framework of reversible data hiding scheme for absolute moment truncation coding (AMBTC) compressed images. AMBTC-based RDH can be applied to optical remote sensing (ORS) image transmission, which achieves target region preservation and image compression simultaneously. Existing methods can be concluded as two types. In type I schemes, stego codes mimic the original AMBTC format where no file bloat occurs, yet the carried secret data is limited. Type II schemes utilize predication errors to recode quantity levels of AMBTC codes which achieves significant increase in embedding capacity. However, such recoding causes bloat inside stego format, which is not appropriate in mentioned ORS transmission. The proposed method is a novel type I RDH method which prevents bloat inside AMBTC stego codes with significant improvement in embedding capacity. The AMBTC compressed trios are grouped into two categories according to a given threshold. In smooth trio, the modified low quantity level is constructed by concatenating Huffman codes and secret bits. The reversible contrast mapping (RCM) is performed to complex trios for data embedment. Experiments show that the proposed scheme provides highest payload compared with existing type I methods. Meanwhile, no expansion inside stego codes is caused.

In the satellite camera, the incoming light source is converted to electronic analog signals by the electronic component for example CCD (Charge Coupled Device) detectors. The analog signals are amplified, biased and converted into digital signals (pixel data stream) in the video processor (A/Ds). The outputs of the A/Ds are digitally multiplexed and driven out using differential line drivers (two pairs of wires) for cross strap requirement. The MSC (Multi-Spectral Camera) in the KOMPSAT-2 which is a LEO spacecraft will be used to generate observation imagery data in two main channels. The MSC is to obtain data for high-resolution images by converting incoming light from the earth into digital stream of pixel data. The video data outputs are then MUXd, converted to 8 bit bytes, serialized and transmitted to the NUC (Non-Uniformity Correction) module by the Hotlink data transmitter. In this paper, the video data streams, the video data format, and the image data processing routine for satellite camera are described in terms of satellite camera control hardware. The advanced satellite with very high resolution requires faster and more complex image data chain than this algorithm. So, the effective change of the used image data chain and the fast video data transmission method are discussed in this paper

Link-16 is a widely used TDL (Tactical Data Link) which uses TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access). Link-16 is a very low rate system, so it supports small size of data like tactical message and voice. However, there are related works to transmit situation awareness information like image due to the increasing interest about EBO(Effect-Based Operation), recently. Special TDMA scheduling is needed not static TDMA of Link-16 for image transmission because image data has much larger size than the existing tactical data. In this paper, we proposed Link-16K which enhances the Link-16 MAC. The proposed Link-16K is compatible with Link-16, and includes dynamic TDMA, new packing method, and an efficient retransmission scheme for image transmission effectively. We can see that image transmission delay is reduced and channel utilization is increased through simulation results of proposed idea.

Based on the quincunx sub-sampling grid, the New Interleaved Hierarchical INTerpolation (NIHINT) method is recognized as a superior pyramid data structure for the lossless and progressive coding of natural images. In this paper, we propose a new image interpolation algorithm, Edge Adaptive Hierarchical INTerpolation (EAHINT), for a further reduction in the entropy of interpolation errors. We compute the local variance of the causal context to model the strength of a local edge around a target pixel and then apply three statistical decision rules to classify the local edge into a strong edge, a weak edge, or a medium edge. According to these local edge types, we apply an interpolation method to the target pixel using a one-directional interpolator for a strong edge, a multi-directional adaptive weighting interpolator for a medium edge, or a non-directional static weighting linear interpolator for a weak edge. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves a better compression bit rate than the NIHINT method for lossless image coding. It is shown that the compression bit rate is much better for images that are rich in directional edges and textures. Our algorithm also shows better rate-distortion performance and visual quality for progressive image transmission.

Filtered-Back-Projection technique is used in X-ray CT image reconstruction. This requires X-ray transmission data from all directions. As the transverse cross-section of the body is approximately 50 cm, transmitted X-rays in this direction are strongly attenuated. If X-ray transmission data in this direction is avoided, exposure to the patients seems to be reduced one 20th of usual value. Some alternative method has to be found for clinically sufficient image quality. New methods are under development and tentative results are reported that utilizes the principle of superposition.

This paper porposes and efficient coding scheme for remote medical communication systems, or“telemedicine systems”. These systems require a technique which is able to transfer large volume of data such as X-ray images effectively. We have already developed a hierarchical image coding and transmission scheme (HITS), which achieves an efficient transmission of medical images simply[1]. In this paper, a new coding scheme for HITS is proposed, which used hierarchical context modeling for the purpose of improving the coding efficiency. The hierarchical context modeling divides wavelet coefficients into several sets by the value of a correspondent coefficient in their higher class, or“a parent”, optimizes a Golomb-Rice (GR) code parameter in each set, and then encodes the coefficients with the parameter. Computer simulation shows that the proposed scheme is effective with simple implementation. This is due to fact that a wavelet coefficient has dependence on its parent. As a result, high speed data transmission is achieved even if the telemedicine system consists of simple personal computers.
