A Maximum A Posterior Probability based Multiuser Detection Method in Space based Constellation Network

  • In space based constellation network, users are allowed to enter or leave the network arbitrarily. Hence, the number, identities and transmitted data of active users vary with time and have considerable impacts on the receiver's performance. The so-called problem of multiuser detection means identifying the identity of each active user and detecting the data transmitted by each active user. Traditional methods assume that the number of active users is equal to the maximum number of users that the network can hold. The model of traditional methods are simple and the performance are suboptimal. In this paper a Maximum A Posteriori Probability (MAP) based multiuser detection method is proposed. The proposed method models the activity state of users as Markov chain and transforms multiuser detection into searching optimal path in grid map with BCJR algorithm. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method obtains 2.6dB and 1dB Eb/N0 gains respectively when activity detection error rate and symbol error rate reach 10-3, comparing with reference methods.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 OCLC WorldCat의 실험적 지원도구인 WorldCat Identities Network를 검토하고, 그 안에 수록된 한국 관련 개인 아이덴티티의 문제점에 대한 개선방안을 제안하는 것이다. WorldCat Identities Network에 포함된 영어 및 한국어로 표기된 개인 아이덴티티 10개와 주제 아이덴티티 10개를 사례로 선택하여 관련 아이덴티티 및 관련 저작의 WorldCat 검색 결과를 분석하였다. WorldCat 검색 시 디폴트 검색식 구성의 문제점 및 검색 대상 아이덴티티의 이름과 연관된 연도 혹은 완전명 포함에 따른 검색 오류의 문제점을 확인하였다.

Ensemble Deep Network for Dense Vehicle Detection in Large Image

  • 본 논문은 고해상도를 가지는 영상에서 겹쳐져있는 소형 물체를 효과적으로 검출하고 추적하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. Coarse to Fine 방식을 기본으로 하는 두 개의 Deep-Learning Network을 앙상블 형태로 구성하여 차량이 존재할 위치를 미리 판단하고 서브영역으로 선택한 이미지로부터 차량을 정확하게 검출한다. Coarse 단계에서는 서로 다른 다수의 Deep-Learning Network 에 대한 각각의 결과로 Voting Space를 생성한다. 각 Voting Space 의 조합을 통해 Voting Map을 만들고 차량이 존재할 위치를 선택한다. Fine 단계에서는 Coarse 단계에서 선택된 영역을 기준으로 서브영역을 추출하고 해당 영역을 최종 Deep-Learning Network 에 입력한다. 서브 영역은 Voting Map을 이용하여 영상에서의 높이에 적합한 크기의 동적 윈도우를 생성함으로써 정의되며, 본 논문에서는 원거리에서 근거리로 접근하는 도로의 이미지를 대상으로 미리 계산된 매핑테이블을 적용하였다. 각 서브 영역 간 이동하는 차량의 동일성 판단은 검출된 영역의 하단 중심점에 대한 근접성을 기반으로 하였으며, 이를 통해 이동하는 차량의 정보를 트래킹 하였다. 실제 주야간 도로 CCTV를 통해 획득한 실시간 영상에서 처리 속도 및 검출 성능을 비교 실험하여 제안한 알고리즘을 평가하였다.

Face Recognition Using a Facial Recognition System

  • Facial recognition system is a biometric manipulation. Its applicability is simpler, and its work range is broader than fingerprints, iris scans, signatures, etc. The system utilizes two technologies, such as face detection and recognition. This study aims to develop a facial recognition system to recognize person's faces. Facial recognition system can map facial characteristics from photos or videos and compare the information with a given facial database to find a match, which helps identify a face. The proposed system can assist in face recognition. The developed system records several images, processes recorded images, checks for any match in the database, and returns the result. The developed technology can recognize multiple faces in live recordings.

  • This study qualitatively explored the case of users utilizing multiple accounts on one social network service to create their own multiple spaces and different personas. The purpose of the study was to understand the behavior of people who use multiple accounts to express their identity online using Carl Jung's personality theory. We used in-depth interviews and the Zaltman metaphor elicitation technique (ZMET), targeting 19 people in their 20s and 30s who use more than one personal account on Instagram. Creating a shared consensus map using the configuration concept of ZMET derived six personas in relation to Instagram accounts. The motivations for the respondents' self-presentation associated with their personas and self-presentation types shown on Instagram were analyzed in terms of persona and fashion and subdivided into five dimensions: relationship management strategic presentation, self-monitoring presentation, competence demonstration presentation, anonymous presentation, and persona-centered presentation. Each respondent's persona and self-presentation formed by the Instagram account was analyzed.

4대 국제애니메이션영화제 비교분석을 통한 한국애니메이션영화제 발전방향 (The Road Map of Animation Festival in Korea through the Comparative Analysis of 4 International Animation Festivals)

  • 한국애니메이션영화제 역사는 1997년 서울 국제만화애니메이션페스티벌(SICAF), 1999년 부천 국제학생애니메이션페스티벌(PISAF)이 10년을 넘어서 대표적인 애니메이션영화제로 현재까지 지속해 오고 있다. 그럼에도 초기의 성과와 비교한다면 관객의 애니메이션영화제에 대한 참여와 관심은 줄어들고 있으며, 애니메이션 산업중흥 및 애니메이션 장르의 확장이라는 목표는 최근 애니메이션산업의 위기와 맞물려 애니메이션 영화제 또한 위축되어온 것이 사실이다. 본 연구의 목적은 4대 국제애니메이션영화제로 불리는 안시 국제애니메이션영화제, 자그레브 국제애니메이션영화제, 오타와 국제애니메이션영화제, 히로시마 국제애니메이션영화의 특징과 최근 경향을 살펴보면서 한국애니메이션영화제 발전방향에 관하여 모색한다. 21세기 들어서 애니메이션은 그 장르의 경계가 모호해진 가운데, 기술적인 진보와, 3D, CG로 대표되는 제작환경의 변화 등으로 급격한 패러다임의 전환기를 맞이하고 있다. 4대 국제애니메이션영화제는 이를 적극적으로 수용하거나 혹은 선별적인 도입을 통하여 각자의 문화정체성과 애니메이션 제작 및 산업 활성화를 유도하는 방향으로 전개해 나갔다. 특히 이런 변화에 맞추어 세계의 애니메이션영화제 비교분석을 통하여 한국의 애니메이션영화제의 발전방향을 모색하는 것은 지금에 있어 시의 적절하면서도 의미 있는 작업이다. 이 논문에는 그동안 안시영화제 방문경험과 안시에서 만난 다양한 국제영화제 인적교류를 통해 얻은 정보들을 기반으로 각각의 해외애니메이션영화제 특성과 그 운영을 비교분석함으로서 한국애니메이션영화제가 애니메이션 미래의 비전을 주도적으로 창조할 수 있도록 발전방향을 제시하고자 한다. 이들 4대 영화제들의 성공기반은 오랜 전통과 역사에서 비롯된 안정적인 시스템- 전용상영관, 관객의 적극적 참여, 지속적인 정체성확립과 특성화, 상호간 국제네트워크협력에 있다. 따라서 이들 영화제에서 공통적으로 갖고 있는 기반을 구성하는 것이 한국애니메이션영화제에서 필수적인 조건이며, 여기에는 애니메이션의 자체 매력을 즐길 수 있는 애니메이션 교육목표와 과정이 수반되어야 할 것이다.

스마트폰 위치기반 어플리케이션의 이용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인: 프라이버시 계산 모형의 적용 (Factors Influencing the Adoption of Location-Based Smartphone Applications: An Application of the Privacy Calculus Model)

  • Smartphone and its applications (i.e. apps) are increasingly penetrating consumer markets. According to a recent report from Korea Communications Commission, nearly 50% of mobile subscribers in South Korea are smartphone users that accounts for over 25 million people. In particular, the importance of smartphone has risen as a geospatially-aware device that provides various location-based services (LBS) equipped with GPS capability. The popular LBS include map and navigation, traffic and transportation updates, shopping and coupon services, and location-sensitive social network services. Overall, the emerging location-based smartphone apps (LBA) offer significant value by providing greater connectivity, personalization, and information and entertainment in a location-specific context. Conversely, the rapid growth of LBA and their benefits have been accompanied by concerns over the collection and dissemination of individual users' personal information through ongoing tracking of their location, identity, preferences, and social behaviors. The majority of LBA users tend to agree and consent to the LBA provider's terms and privacy policy on use of location data to get the immediate services. This tendency further increases the potential risks of unprotected exposure of personal information and serious invasion and breaches of individual privacy. To address the complex issues surrounding LBA particularly from the user's behavioral perspective, this study applied the privacy calculus model (PCM) to explore the factors that influence the adoption of LBA. According to PCM, consumers are engaged in a dynamic adjustment process in which privacy risks are weighted against benefits of information disclosure. Consistent with the principal notion of PCM, we investigated how individual users make a risk-benefit assessment under which personalized service and locatability act as benefit-side factors and information privacy risks act as a risk-side factor accompanying LBA adoption. In addition, we consider the moderating role of trust on the service providers in the prohibiting effects of privacy risks on user intention to adopt LBA. Further we include perceived ease of use and usefulness as additional constructs to examine whether the technology acceptance model (TAM) can be applied in the context of LBA adoption. The research model with ten (10) hypotheses was tested using data gathered from 98 respondents through a quasi-experimental survey method. During the survey, each participant was asked to navigate the website where the experimental simulation of a LBA allows the participant to purchase time-and-location sensitive discounted tickets for nearby stores. Structural equations modeling using partial least square validated the instrument and the proposed model. The results showed that six (6) out of ten (10) hypotheses were supported. On the subject of the core PCM, H2 (locatability ${\rightarrow}$ intention to use LBA) and H3 (privacy risks ${\rightarrow}$ intention to use LBA) were supported, while H1 (personalization ${\rightarrow}$ intention to use LBA) was not supported. Further, we could not any interaction effects (personalization X privacy risks, H4 & locatability X privacy risks, H5) on the intention to use LBA. In terms of privacy risks and trust, as mentioned above we found the significant negative influence from privacy risks on intention to use (H3), but positive influence from trust, which supported H6 (trust ${\rightarrow}$ intention to use LBA). The moderating effect of trust on the negative relationship between privacy risks and intention to use LBA was tested and confirmed by supporting H7 (privacy risks X trust ${\rightarrow}$ intention to use LBA). The two hypotheses regarding to the TAM, including H8 (perceived ease of use ${\rightarrow}$ perceived usefulness) and H9 (perceived ease of use ${\rightarrow}$ intention to use LBA) were supported; however, H10 (perceived effectiveness ${\rightarrow}$ intention to use LBA) was not supported. Results of this study offer the following key findings and implications. First the application of PCM was found to be a good analysis framework in the context of LBA adoption. Many of the hypotheses in the model were confirmed and the high value of $R^2$ (i.,e., 51%) indicated a good fit of the model. In particular, locatability and privacy risks are found to be the appropriate PCM-based antecedent variables. Second, the existence of moderating effect of trust on service provider suggests that the same marginal change in the level of privacy risks may differentially influence the intention to use LBA. That is, while the privacy risks increasingly become important social issues and will negatively influence the intention to use LBA, it is critical for LBA providers to build consumer trust and confidence to successfully mitigate this negative impact. Lastly, we could not find sufficient evidence that the intention to use LBA is influenced by perceived usefulness, which has been very well supported in most previous TAM research. This may suggest that more future research should examine the validity of applying TAM and further extend or modify it in the context of LBA or other similar smartphone apps.
