  • MMORPG game is an industry that is growing fast through COVID-19. This study confirmed the factors that influence the self-character identification and social relation internalization of MMORPG games and identified the factors that affect the intention to purchase items and the intention to continue play. According to the PLS analysis, the influence of the character characteristics and social characteristics of MMORPG on self-character identification and game commitment was significantly confirmed. In addition, the relationships between these mediating variables and user behavior were tested. The results of this study suggested the importance of researching MMORPGs' game characters and could be used to improve the competitiveness of MMORPG game companies.

  • To evolve silkworm hybrids with higher survival and better cocoon characters, evaluation of semen hybrids in the laboratory (short-listed out of 143 hybrids) resulted in the identification of two promising hybrids, A3${\tines}$935 E (HSP1) and A3${\tines}$916 B (HSP2). The hybrids were evaluated at three different Regional Sericultural Research Stations of Central Silk Board during 1997-1998 and also tested with the farmers along with two control hybrids, KAxNB4D2 and PMxNB4D2. Evaluation of the hybrids indicated that these hybrids can be reared in all the seasons, especially during summer season. These hybrids show shorter larval duration (22 days 17 hrs against 23 days in control KAxNB4D2 and better cocoon characters as compared to the crossed breeds PM ${\tines}$NB4D2).

  • The application of modern ecological, ultrastructural and molecular methods, aided by the cultivation of numerous cyanobacterial morphotypes, has substantially changed our knowledge of these organisms. It has led to major advances in cyanobacterial taxonomy and criteria for their phylogenetic classification. Molecular data provide basic criteria for cyanobacterial taxonomy; however, a correct phylogenetic system cannot be constructed without combining genetic data with knowledge from the previous 150 years research of cyanobacterial diversity. Thus, studies of morphological variation in nature, and modern morphological, ultrastructural, ecophysiological and biochemical characters need to be combined in a “polyphasic” approach. Taxonomic concepts for generic and infrageneric ranks are re-evaluated in light of combined phenotypic and molecular criteria. Despite their usefulness in experimental studies, the limitations of using strains from culture collections for systematic and nomenclatural purposes is highlighted. The need for a continual revision of strain identification and proper nomenclatural practice associated with either the bacteriological or botanical codes is emphasized. Recent advances in taxonomy are highlighted in the context of prospects for understanding cyanobacterial diversity from natural habitats, and the evolutionary and adaptational processes that cyanobacteria undergo.

  • Phenotypes of panicle, hull and seed of mutant rice (Oryza sativa L.) were characterized. Panicle mutants were classified in 4 groups with their internode length of main rachis, primary rachis, secondary rachis and pedicel. Hull and seed mutants were grouped into 12 based on their mutant characters in shape, size and color of seeds. These natural and spontaneous mutant collections showed distinct phenotypes to wild type rice. This might be useful for the identification of the functions of genetic factors in the Mendelian inheritance.

  • We identified the five root-lesion nematode species, Pratylenchus crenatus, P. fallax, P. kumamotoensis, P. panamaensis and P. penetrans from intercepted in quarantine inspection over the past five years. Their diagnostic characters are including number of lip annuli, stylet length, shape of the labial region, presence or absence of males, structure of lateral fields, shape of spermatheca, length of the post-vulval uterine sac and shape of tail and so forth. We described the photos, measurements and morphological characters.

  • This paper presents a method to segment object ID(identification) marks on poor quality images under uncontrolled lighting conditions of automated inspection process. The method is based on dynamic programming using multiple templates and normalized gray-level correlation (NGC) method. If the lighting condition is not good and hence, we can not control the image quality, target image to be inspected presents poor quality ID marks and it is not easy to identify and recognize the ID characters. Conventional several methods to segment the interesting ID mark regions fail on the bad quality images. In this paper, we propose a multiple template method, which uses combinational relation of multiple templates from model templates to match several characters of the inspection images. To increase the computation speed to segment the ID mark regions, we introduce the dynamic programming based algorithm. Experimental results using images from real factory automation(FA) environment are presented.

  • The automation of production process is actively expanding for the purpose of the cost reduction and quality assurance. Among these, automatic tracking of the product along the whole process of the production is also important topic. Typically this is done by adopting OCR technology. Conventional OCR technology operates well on the rather good quality of the image like as printed characters on the paper. In industrial application, IDs are marked on the metal surface, and this cause the height difference between background material and character. Illumination systems that guarantee an image with good quality may be a solution, but it is rather difficult to design such an illumination system. This paper proposes an algorithm for the recognition of vehicle's ID characters using edge projection and PCA (Principal Component Analysis). Proposed algorithm robustly operates under illumination change using the same parameters. Experimental results show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.

  • Recently many studies show that genetic characters can be used to provide unambiguous taxonomic discrimination when morphological characters are not practical for routine identification to species level (Bucklin et al., 1996, 1998; Lindeque et al., 1999). The internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions of the nuclear ribosomal DNA are also one of appropriate markers for species-level studies because it contains sufficient diversity to address intra- and interspecific phylogenetic relationships in invertebrates (Odorico and Miller,1997; Schizas et al., 1999). • The insect industry in Korea is currently undergoing steady expansion. Among the various insects kept as pets or for educational purposes, four mantis species, including Hierodula patellifera (Audinet-Serville), Tenodera angustipennis Saussure, Tenodera sinensis Saussure, and Statilia maculata (Thunberg), are becoming increasingly popular, leading to higher demand. As we aimed to raise mantises, we collected oothecae, some of which were found to be parasitized by dermestid beetles. These parasitoids have been unequivocally identified as Thaumaglossa rufocapillata Redtenbacher based on morphological characters. A diagnosis, habitus photographs, and illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided to facilitate identification. We also present the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) sequence of T. rufocapillata for providing fundamental data for research aimed at controlling pests in the insect industry.

  • An image processing algorithm is developed in order to recognize the type of cars, the position of a number plate and the characters on the plate. to recognize the type of cars, comparison of two images is used. One has a car image, the other is just a background image without car. After that recognition, a vertical line filter is used to find the location of the plate. Finally the simularity mehod is used to recognize the numbers on plates.
