  • In this paper, a unified inverse transformer is designed for HEVC and VP9. The proposed architecture performs all modes of HEVC and VP9 in the unified inverser transformer, such as $4{\times}4{\sim}32{\times}32$ HEVC IDCT, $4{\times}4$ HEVC IDST, $4{\times}4{\sim}32{\times}32$ VP9 IDCT, $4{\times}4{\sim}16{\times}16$ VP9 IADST and $4{\times}4$ IWHT. Same computations are used in HEVC IDCT and VP9 IDCT, except for the scales of the coefficients. Similarly, same computations are used in HEVC $4{\times}4$ IDST and VP9 $4{\times}4$ IADST, except for the scales of the coefficients. Furthermore, HEVC IDCT, VP9 IDCT, and VP9 IADST are the subsets of upper level IDCTs. The proposed architecture reuses multipliers when the computation is identical. Also it shares adders and butterfly structures even when the multiplier coefficients are different. So it reduces the hardware size significantly. Synthesized in 0.18 um technology, the gate count is 456,442 gates. which achieved 22.6% reduction compared to conventional architectures.

  • Using RT-PCR, a cDNA encoding tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) ACC oxidase has partially been cloned, sequenced and identified. The nucleotide suquence of the clone was in the coding region and shared about 80% of homology iwht the other ACC oxidase genes of tomato, and 70∼84% with those of other plants such as Oryza sativa, Nicotiana tabacum and Helianthus annuus. In the wounded tomato leaves, this nucleotide transcripts were accumulated rapidly and declined slowly thereafter. These results suggested that the predicted clone might be another member of tomato ACC oxidase gene family.

  • A knowledge-based with production rules is a representation of static knowledge of an expert. On the other hand, a real system such as the stock market is dynamic in nature. Therefore we need a method to reflect the dynamic nature of a system when we make inferences with a knowledge-based system. This paper suggests a strategy of dynamic inference that can be used to take into account the dynamic behavior of decision-making with the knowledge-based system consisted of fuzzy production rules. A degree of match(DM) between actual input information and a condition of a rule is represented by a value [0,1]. Weights of relative importance of attributes in a rule are obtained by the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. Then these weights are applied as exponents for the DM, and the DMs in a rule are combined, with the Min operator, into a single DM for the rule. In this way, the importance of attributes of a rule, which can be changed from time to time, can be reflected in an inference with fuzzy production systems.

  • Fixed-bed adsorption was adapted to separate phenolic acids from diluted phenolic solution. Break-through curve was obtained by nonlinear curve fitting method, and breakpoint, saturation time, and mass transfer coeffi-cient were calculated . Break point and saturation time were reached slower with $\rho$-coumaric acid than ferulic acid .The p-coumaric acid, having small molecular weight, is suposedly traveled longer pathway in characoal than ferulic acid. Fixed-bed adsorption iwht gallic acid having more hydroxyl functional group than other phenolic acids showed break point arrival and the largest saturation time. This fact means that there was bigger electrostatic affinity between gallic acid and charcoal than between other phenolic acids and charcoal.

  • This paper presents a new analytical approach for the evaluation of the reverse link interference in a CDMA cellular system with unequal cell loading. In particular, the dynamic nature of the reverse link power control has been taken into account in the proposed approach so that a realistic effect of unequal cell loading, including the shadowing and soft handoff, on system capacity may be precisely captured. This is aspect that has not beensuccessfully formmulated and rarely attempted tosolve in any previous analytical approach. Our computational result shows that as the loading of every tier of surrounding cells is doubled, the subscriber capacity of the reference cell can be reduced as much as 27% of that obtained in the case that the effect of power control is not appropriately modeled.

  • ${\beta}$-catenin, which plays a critical role in both the cytoskeleton and in transcriptional regulation in variousadherent cell types, undergoes degradation during adherent cell apoptosis. Although ${\beta}$-catenin has been reported to be present in Jurkat T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells, the regulation of ${\beta}$-catenin in hematologic malignancies have not been examined. The data presented here demonstrate that treatment of the T cell leukemia Jurkat iwht the apoptosis inducer anti-Fas induced proteolytic cleavage of ${\beta}$-catenin. ${\beta}$-catenin was cleaved at both the N- and C-terminus after anti-Fas treatment. Cleavage of intact ${\beta}$-catenin was completely inhibited by caspase selective protease inhibitors. These data demonstrate that ${\beta}$ -catenin proteolysis is triggered by the cross-linking of the Fas receptor on Jurkat cells and subsequent activation of caspase protease. There was a clear accumulatio of the large proteolytic fragment in Jurkat cells treated with lactacystin of ALLM. These are potent inhibitors of proteasome and calpain. these results suggest that both the proteasome and clapain may recognize the large ${\beta}$-catenin fragment as a substrate fot further degradation and that these pathewasy may act downstream of scapase in response to Fas receptor activation. Therefore, we suggest that ${\beta}$-catenin may play a role in promoting Jurkat survival.
