Background : In many university hospitals, intravenous(IV) therapies and samplings had been one of the most important works of doctors who are in training. However, recently as patient oriented care is becoming more weighted for qualified health service IV therapies should be the works of specialized personnels. This study was conducted to investigate the medical staff's perception on IV team, to survey patient or parent's expectation on IV team, and to assess the frequency of IV therapy related complications and the characteristics of phlebitis among the hospitalized children. Methods : We collected data prospectively before the start of IV team from February 22 to February 29. 1999 and from September 27 to October 3, 1999, 6 months after beginning of IV team at Seoul National University Children's Hospital. IV team started their activities from March 1, 1999. General pediatric wards were not included for the IV and sampling team and oncology ward and surgical units were all included for the IV and sampling team's work. IV specialist was the well trained nurse who had been working in the field of pediatrics especially for the oncology patients. The subjects of this study were medical staffs who were working in children's hospital as doctors in training and patients who were treated with IV therapies in children's hospital during the same period. Results : Doctors responded that IV team need to be organized for IV care and expected IV team could reduce their work load. Parents of patients also responded IV team was very improtant to perform high quality IV care. They had willingness to pay extra charge for IV team care. In the wards where IV team did not work, they used various kinds and sizes of catheters, but in the wards where IV team worked, they needed just one or two types of catheters. As the exact role of IV team is not still established, job description is needed between the IV team and medical doctors. In the aspects of medical costs. it could save the materials for the IV also. Conclusion : This study showed that IV team could increase patient's satisfaction with decrease of medical doctors work load and concomitantly could save the costs of IV materials. And for the expansion of the IV team, job description is needed and for the total care of the children IV specialist and sampling team should expand their roles.

In order to recover pure alumina from black dross, leaching of mechanically activated black dross with NaOH solution resulted in an aluminate solution containing a small amount of Si(IV). Selective adsorption of Si(IV) onto hydrotalcite was investigated from 5 M NaOH solution where the concentration of Al(III) and Si(IV) was 13000 and 150 mg/L, respectively. Only Si(IV) was selectively loaded onto hydrotalcite, while Al(III) remained in the solution. Effect of the calcination treatment of hydrotalcite and concentration of calcined hydrotalcite and NaOH on the loading of Si(IV) was investigated. Although the loading percentage of Si(IV) was low from 5 M NaOH solution, most of the Si(IV) was removed by adjusting the concentration of NaOH by 48 times dilution with water when the concentration of calcined hydrotalcite was higher than 4.5 g/L. The loading of Si(IV) onto calcined hydrotalcite followed Freundlich adsorption isotherm.

To evaluate the HU value of the IV catheter fragment of CT on the accuracy and size in the peripheral vein. Pilot study of profile and table functions on PC by software was calculated of HU value of IV catheter fragment. This study demonstrates the utility of volume rendering technique to localize a small, subtle IV catheter, which can easily be reformatted of MDCT reformations. IV catheter fragment optimal image described as threshold range. Volume rendering of HU using a MDCT is an excellent method for evaluation the IV catheter fragment in three dimension.

Background: Epidural administration of dexamethasone has been suggested for pain control after minor orthopedic surgery. This study was conducted to assess its efficacy after such surgery, combined or not to IV dipyrone, IV parecoxibe or their combination. Methods: 91 patients were randomly assigned to seven groups. Patients were submitted to spinal bupivacaine anesthesia combined to epidural administration of either 10 ml saline or 10 mg dexamethasone diluted to 10-ml volume. Patients also received 10 ml IV saline or 1 gr dipyrone and/or 40 mg parecoxibe diluted to 10 ml with saline. Control group (CG) received epidural and IV saline. Dexamethasone group (DexG) received epidural dexamethasone and IV saline. Dipyrone group (DipG) received epidural saline and IV dipyrone. Dex-Dip G received epidural dexamethasone and IV dipyrone. Parecoxibe group (ParG) received epidural saline and IV parecoxibe. Dex-ParG received epidural dexamethasone and IV parecoxibe. Finally, Dex-Dip-ParG received epidural dexamethasone and IV dipyrone plus IV parecoxibe. Results: The CG expressed 4h of analgesia and sooner requested pain killer. DexG was similar to DipG or ParG or Dex-ParG (7-hours), and they requested less ketoprofen compared to the CG (P < 0.05). However, the Dex-DipG and the Dex-Dip-ParG resulted in longer time to demand pain killer (17-hours) and less ketoprofen consumption in 24-hours (P < 0.002). Adverse effects were similar among groups. Conclusions: The analgesia secondary to epidural dexamethasone was enhanced by IV dipyrone, while no effects were observed by the addition of IV parecoxibe.

IPSec(IP Security)은 데이터가 공개적으로 전송되는 네트워크 데이터에 암호화와 인증, 무결성을 제공하기 위해 사용되는 프로토콜이다. IPSec 안에는 여러 프로토콜이 있는데, 그 중에 실제 패킷에 암호화와 인증, 무결성을 추가해 전달하기 위해서는 ESP(Encapsulation Security Payload)라는 프로토콜이 사용된다. 이 ESP(Encapsulation Security Payload)라는 프로토콜이 사용된다. 이 ESP는 패킷을 암호화하기 위해 DES-CBC 모드를 사용하는데, 여기에서 IV(Initialization Vector) 값이 쓰인다. 이 값은 패킷 복호화를 하기 위해 공개적으로 전달이 되기 때문에 중간에 공격자에 의해 공격 당할 위험이 많다. 본 논문에서는 IV 공격을 방지하기 위해 IV의 값을 해쉬 함수를 통해 한번 해슁을 한 다음에, IV 값을 안전하게 전달하는 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

Two chelating resins, XAD-16-TAC and XAD-16-TAO were synthesized by Amberlite XAD-16 macroreticular resin with 2-(2-thiazolylazo)-p-cresol (TAC) and 4-(2-thiazolylazo)-orcinol (TAO) as functional groups. The sorption behaviour of Zr(IV), Th(IV) and U(VI) with two chelating resins were examined with respect to the effect of pH and masking agent by batch methods. It was obtained that the optimum pH was in the range of 5-6, and two chelating resins showed good separation efficiency of Zr(IV) or Th(IV) by using $NH_4F$ as a masking agent. Characteristics of desorption were investigated with 0.1-2 M $HNO_3$ as desorption agent. It was found that 2 M $HNO_3$ showed high desorption efficiency to most of metal ions except Zr(IV). XAD-16-TAC resin is applied to separation and preconcentration of trace Zr(IV) from mixed metal ions. Also, Th(IV) ion can be successfully separated from U(VI) and Zr(IV) ion by using XAD-16- TAO resin.

Based on the results of graft copolymerization to proteins, an attempt is made to derive the rate equations to explain the mechanism of Ce(IV) ion-initiated graft copolymerizations. In this system the oxidative termination by Ce(IV) $[R{\cdot}+ Ce(IV) ${\rightarrow}$ R(inert) + Ce(III) + H^+]$ is considered characteristic particularly in higher concentration of Ce(IV) ion. The change in the mode of termination reactions with change in Ce(IV) ion concentration makes possible the presence of an optimum Ce(IV) ion concentration for maximum graft copolymerization yield. This effect is reflected in presently derived equations.

IPSec is a protocol which provides data encryption, message authentication and data integrity on public and open network transmission. In IPSec, ESP protocol is used when it needs to provide data encryption, authentication and Integrity In real transmission packets. ESP protocol uses DES-CBC encryption mode when sender encrypts packets and receiver decrypts data through this mode IV is used at that time. This value has many tasks of attack during transmission by attacker because it is transferred clean and opened. If IV value is modified, then decryption of ESP data is impossible and higher level information is changed. In this paper we propose a new algorithm that it encrypts IV values using DES-ECB mode for preventing IV attack and checks integrity of whole ESP data using message authentication function. Therefore, we will protect attacks of IV and data, and guarantee core safe transmission on the public network.

자바 환경에서 데이터베이스 연동을 위한 표준 인터페이스를 위해서 Sun에서 JDBC를 제시하고 있으며, 본 연구에서는 객체지향 멀티미디어 데이터베이스 바다-IV 시스템에 대한 JDBC 인터페이스를 위한 바다-IV/JDBC 드라이버를 구현하였다. 바다-IV/JDBC 드라이버는 별도의 라이브러리 없이 순수한 자바 코드로 개발하였으며, 데이터베이스 서버에 직접 연동하는 방법을 사용하여 고성능을 추구하였다. 또한, 멀티미디어 데이터베이스를 위한 BLOB, CLOB 등의 변경기능과 Collection 타입에 대한 기능을 확장 구현하였으며, 사용자는 바다-IV/JDBC를 사용하여 바다-IV 서버와 연결하여 SQL 문을 사용한 자바 응용 서비스의 개발이 가능하며, 동일한 응용 서비스를 JDBC를 지원하는 다른 데이터베이스를 사용한 응용 서비스로 쉽게 변경할 수 있다.

This study examined the improving effect of DFA IV obtained from bacterial fermentation on the gut health. The effects of the dietary DFA IV on the intestinal mass, short chain fatty acids production and pH were evaluated in vivo. Sprague-Dawley rats were fed the 0% (control) or 1% DFA IV supplemented diets for 3 weeks. Supplementation of DFA IV resulted in a significant increase in cecal tissue and wall weights. Together with the lowering of the cecal and colonic pH, the amount of acetate and butyrate increased by 1.6 and 3.2 fold of the control group in the cecum, respectively, in the rats fed DFA IV diets. The DFA IV diet also significantly increased the cecal lactate 1.5 fold compared to the control diet, indicating that dietary DFA IV stimulated the growth of lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria in the intestine. Based on the above results, it is concluded that the dietary DFA IV may be used as a putative prebiotic supplement.
