The usage of appropriate disinfectants is essential for infection control in dental hospitals, dental clinics. Inadequate use of disinfectants is the cause of human or environmental toxicity and is a waste of cost. This study was aimed to assess the level of knowledge on the disinfection and chemical disinfectants among dental workers in dental hospitals, dental clinics. It's ultimately intended to serve as a basis for the preparation of more effective, appropriate educational programs on the disinfection and manuals on the use of disinfectants for dental workers. This study enforced a questionnaire with 184 dental workers employed in dental hospitals, dental clinics from 15 Aug. to 15 Sep. 2007, in the area of Daejeon. The obtained result were as follows; 1. The population sociological feature of dental hospital and dental clinic showed that significant differences of dental service career(pM0.039). Dental service career of dental workers shows; below 3 years 42.9%, 4~6 years 34.7%, more than 7 years 22.4% in dental hospitals, below 3 years 30.4%, 4~6 years 26.7%, more than 7 years 43.0% in dental clinics(pM0.039). 2. The average score of dental workers knowledge in 'Critical item soaks in high-level disinfectants for 20minutes was 2.73V0.49 point, got from knowledge of dental instrument is appropriate to immerse before sterilization in the dental device disinfection(pM0.002). 3. In the general disinfection which it follows in education experience of chemical disinfectants direction for use, 'Direction for use by Spaulding process classification' responded that the correct answer was the education experience dental workers 60.0%, the education non-experience dental workers 39.5%(p=0.026). 4. In the dental device disinfection which it follows in education experience of chemical disinfectants direction for use. 'High level disinfection is not applied for the non-critical items and equipment' responded that the education experience dental workers 49.2%, the education non-experience dental workers 31.9%(pM0.045), 'Semi-critical items is applied same method in presence of the infection disease which it acts responded that the education experience dental workers 44.6% answer back, the education non-experience dental workers 24.4%(pM0.017). 5. The education experience dental workers were appeared higher than the education non-experience dental workers in knowledge of the disinfection and chemical disinfectants. Consequently system and the specialty education which is standardized continuously must be provided to all dental workers.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences and the influencing factors of health habits such as smoking, drinking, and exercise on job stress among IT workers. Methods: A questionnaire was distributed to total of 300 people (30 persons per business place) at 10 IT work sites performing computer and information system tasks, and 275 data points were analyzed. The survey items were general characteristics, occupational characteristics, employment type, physical burden, amount of drinking, smoking, exercise, and job stress. Results: The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, non-regular workers showed higher smoking, exercise, and job stress than did regular workers by employment type, but exercise was not significant. Regular workers had a higher rate of drinking than non-regular workers. Second, the factors affecting alcohol drinking were gender and age, and factors affecting smoking were gender and employment type. Third, factors affecting job stress were annual income, long working hours, physical burden, and employment type. Conclusions: It is necessary to consider employment patterns in smoking, drinking, and job stress management. In addition, it is necessary to deeply analyze what affects the health behaviors and job stress of IT workers and explore ways to mitigate them.
The purpose of this study is to review the labor force partitpation rate and work environment characteristics of female workers to provide basic information for establishment and implementation of effective policies related to accident prevention and workers health protection for female workers. It was analyzed employment status, work environment and injuries and illnesses based on economic activity census results, compensation of industrial injury and the second working condition survey. According to economic activity census results, female labor force participation rate has been steadily increased, whereas male labor force participation rate has been decreased since 1970. Industrial accident rate has been declined in male workers but that in female workers has been steadily increased even though male workers were higher accident rate than female workers. It was evaluated that female workers are vulnerable to industrial injuries and illnesses in the aspect of their working environment and employment status. Also, Substantial differences between female and male workers in occupational exposure patterns, occupational disease and occupational environments were observed. Therefore it was recommended that special care programs for female workers such as a specialized monitoring and management program should be introduced in the near future.

Numerous regulations have been introduced and a various kinds of institutional intervention have been made by government against the occupational safety and health problems. However, it was serious issue to the workers that what can be claimed by those who meet with apparently harmful and risky working conditions in their social systems. In the view point of employees, their right to be free from unacceptable risk and hazards has not been clearly defined. Therefore, workers have very limited rights to take any actions unless employer or government do their actions. It is believed that this undesirable conditions resulted from Jack of legal definition of workers' right to work in the safe and healthy environment. It has been found increased social pressure to make intervention to the industry to protect workers' health. Also, increased pressure has been kept for deregulation. This conflict lay the current situation in dilemma. The concept of the working environmental right has been developed and discussed in this study to overcome this trade-off confliction. It should be clearly separated between legal aspects and administrative and Policy area to make the regulations effective. Strong enforcement to the industry based on the law should be minimum, however, it should be practically effective in the aspect of workers' right. Administration and policy should be focused on supportive and leading activities to achieve the ultimate goal, safe and healthy working environment. It is concluded that establishment of working environmental right would satisfy workers and industry and it would result in improvement workers' environment and conditions.
This study is to understand the relationship between turnover and various conditions. Turnover refers to workers moving from one company to another, which exists in various ways and forms. Currently, a large number of workers are considering many turnover rates to satisfy their income levels, distance between work and residence, and age. In addition, they consider changing jobs a lot depending on the type of work, the decision-making ability of workers, and the level of education. The company needs to accept the conditions required by workers so that competent workers can work for a long time and predict what measures should be taken to convert them into long-term workers. The study was conducted because it was necessary to predict what conditions workers must meet in order to become long-term workers by comparing various conditions and turnover using regression and decision trees. It used Microsoft Azure machines to produce results, and it found that among the various conditions, it looked for different items for long-term work. Various methods were attempted in conducting the research, and among them, suitable algorithms adopted algorithms that classify various kinds of algorithms and derive results, and among them, two decision tree algorithms were used to derive results.
Objective: In this review we discuss the health effects among office workers. Background: Even if office workers are not exposed hazardous or harmful environment frequently, some problems could be happened to the office workers. Although serious occupational diseases rarely occur to the office workers, it is important to consider occupational risk factors for the office worker because the portion of the office workers is relatively high in all industries. Method: We divided possible health effects for the office workers into three categories; musculoskeletal disorders, indoor environment, and cerebro-cardiovascular diseases. We reviewed related articles, textbooks, and statistical materials non-systematically and described risk factors, related illnesses, and prevention strategies on each category. Results: Office workers have various musculoskeletal disorders to be intervened. By medical treatment, improving working environment, and ergonomic intervention, office workers can be prevented from musculoskeletal injuries. Poor indoor environment can cause many building-related illnesses or sick building syndrome. Although the etiology of some problems by poor indoor environment is not clear, it helps to maintain adequate humidity, temperature, and clarity of indoor air. Cerebro-cardiovascular diseases are a rising issue because office workers in Korea tend to work for a lot of time. To prevent the diseases, it is needed to work for adequate time, lengthen activity level, and manage other medical risk factors for the diseases. Conclusion: There is no distinct occupational disease for office workers. However, there are some aspects to consider the health effects of office workers and it is important to prevent the possible health problems. Application: A strategy against occupational diseases among office workers can be established by reviewing this article.
This report is intended to find out the health status of the korean industrial workers based on the periodic physical examination in 1982. It has resulted in the followings: 1. As of April, 1982, total No. of industries was 81,136 of which workers was totally 3,383,700 persons classifying into 2,163,600 in male and 1,220,100 in female, and manufacturing field was occupied 44.6% of total industries and 61.0% of total workers. 2. In view of size, industries having less than 9 ordinary workers was 47.5%, those having less than 29 ordinary workers was 77.0%. 3. Applicable target industries to industrial safety & health law was 31,059 which was covered 38.3% of total establishments and No. of workers was 2,192,511, 64.8% of all industrial workers. 4. No. of establishment & workers conducting the physical examination was 26,463 which is 85.2% of all examining industries and was 2,007,091, 91.5% of all examining required workers. 5. Case having general disease by general physical examination was 3.5% of examining workers and especially it was appeared 9.7% in mining. 6. Case having general disease by special physical examination was 3.8% of examining workers and incidence rate for occupational disease was 2.4% of examining workers. 7. No. of the occupational diseased was 5,341 persons which is 2.6% of all the examining workers, 205,497 and its rate was appeared highly as 7.5% of silicosis in mining workers and 1.4% of hearing difficulty to noise in construction.
There have been a series of mixed reviews on the 'untact work' which was implemented for the safety of the organizational members from Covid-19. This study reports a follow-up study with a quantitative approach to issues identified by in-depth interviews with workers and managers who have experiences in work from home. To compare the views of workers and managers on untact work, 264 workers and 141 managers were surveyed. An analysis of agreement, congruency, and accuracy on the basis of the co-orientation model shows that workers are more positive about the untact work than managers and that managers are found to have a negative perception on untact work. This seems to be a burden on workers. More specifically, managers and workers show significant perception gaps on the issues of unfair evaluation and work-life balance. The results imply that organizations need to make efforts to minimize the perception gaps between workers and managers. This would bring about benefits from untact work.
This paper is to provide the legitimacy of the recruit system of professional social welfare workers in public sector with government by analyzing the evaluation results of the supervisors. In order to evaluate the public welfare workers recruit system, 500 supervisors are selected randomly from the universe of 2,880 supervisors working in the public welfare field. They are not a professional social worker, but an administrative supervisor in hierarchical structure. Among them 302 supervisors give their views on the recruit system, social welfare workers' job achievement, job attitude, ability, and professional values. They assess the workers' job achievement very positively, which are affected by job attitude, ability, and professional values. They agree that it is very valuable to exist the recruit system of professional social welfare workers in public sector, because it has contributed to increasing the workers' job achievement level in the public welfare field. This study concludes that it is successful to adopt the recruit system of social welfare workers in public sector, and suggests that the system be developed further in public welfare field. Besides, this paper insists that professional public welfare workers recognize that they are one of the members of the organization and they work together with administrative staffs.
Based on a literature review regarding shift work, it is recognized that it has an adverse effect on workers' health. Especially, the night shift rather than the day shift imposes severe disorders on workers, which are indicated to dyssomnia, maladaptation to social life, and health problems such as gastroenteric trouble, cardiovascular diseases and depression. As the shift work can be explainable by using workers' labor ability necessarily to maintain company business consistently, it does not consider biorhythm, active mass and health condition of workers Actually duration of shit work would deprive workers of fundamental life rights by causing physical and mental effects. As a result of reviewing previous case studies related to effect of work pattern (day shift and night shift) on workers' health, an incidence of physical diseases like dyssomnia, gastroenteric trouble, cardiovascular diseases and premature delivery was higher in shift workers than normal workers. Additionally the incidence of mental disorders such as busy brain, social isolation, depression and work stress was also higher in shift workers than normal workers. These adverse physical and mental problems were intensified to night shift workers compared to day shift workers. Considering current various reports and study results, it is recommended that the shift work, especially the night work pattern, should not apply to contemporary work situation for sustaining workers' health condition constantly.
