  • The inflow into a multi-purpose dam reservoir contains many suspended solids from the upper stream during the rainy season. Concentrations of SS increased to 73.3 mg/l and the TP measurement increased to 0.09 mg/l during the rainy season in 1999. It was discovered that particles less than $10\;\mu\textrm{m}$ in size composed about 50% of the total amount. Some of these particles reduce the reservoir capacity and have an impact on water. In this study, the sediment depth at Daecheong multi-purpose dam was examined. Piston coring was performed at 9 locations At Hoenam 1 out of 9 locations examined showed maximum depth, which was 90 cm and at Muneui 3 showed the minimum depth, which was 35 cm. At Hoenam, the release rate of TN was found to be $62.14~84.72\;mg/\textrm{m}^2{\cdot}day$ in 1998. However, it was found to considerably reduced to $23.20\;mg/\textrm{m}^2{\cdot}day$ in 2001. The release rate of TP was measured at $13.02~14.38\;mg/\textrm{m}^2$.day at 1998, and it was reduced to $6.93mg/\;mg/\textrm{m}^2{\cdot}day$ in 2001.

  • The Water, Energy, and Food (WEF) nexus is an emerging concept for sustainable resources planning and management. The three valuable resources are inevitably interconnected, that is, it takes water to produce energy; it takes energy to extract, treat, and distribute water; and both water and energy are required to produce food. Although it is challenging to fully understand the complicated interdependency, a few studies have been devoted to interpret the concept and develop the assessment tools. The tools were mainly developed for nation-wide simulations without considering inter-basin or inter-state resources trade. This study tries to present an idea to develop and implement the WEF nexus simulation model in regional scale by advancing the existing nation-wide model with additional capability to simulate the inter-basin trade. This simulation could help local planners and engineers to determine optimal policies and infrastructure solutions to reach and ensure local demand satisfaction. The simulation model is implemented in hypothetical areas with different conditions of WEF demands and supplies. Although the inter-basin trade scenarios are simulated manually, it shows that the inter-basin resources trade could enhance the resources security for a longer time period. In future, an optimization model might be developed to provide the automatic calculation to reach optimum amount of WEF for the trade, which can be a helpful tool in decision making process.

  • Among the towns of GyeongJu and SamCheok on which I have surveyed about their amenity resources in 2010, I chose 5 towns that are close to the Eastsea to analyze the data and to devise how to revitalize fishing villages. And the results are as follows. 1. Although Yangbuk-myeon is geographically located to have all the aspects of fishing village, farming village, and mountain village, the resources utilized are mainly that of mountain village. There is need to utilize actively historical amenity resources like Munmudaewangreung of Yangbuk-myeon. 2. The use of amenity resources of Yangnam-myeon is centered on farm and mountain village. But if they utilize amenity resources of fishing villages of Eupcheon-port's neighborhood, it would be a big help for the revitalization of Yangnam-myeon which is depressed. 3. The fishing mackerels on boat of Gampo-eup Jeonchonri is a successful example of utilization of fishing village's amenity resources. However, there is need to utilize amenity resources of farming and mountain villages that are near to Gampo-eup, so it can attract visitors to stay longer. Particularly, the fishing villages of the East coast must develop 4 seasons program connecting the amenity resources of neighboring farm and mountain. 4. Geundeok-myeon is a town where they made the amenity resources of fishing village into tourist attractions. But considering the wide gap between Geundeok-myeon and neighboring fishing, farming and mountain villages that cannot get the advantage of development, there has to be some inducement in policy so every town can be developed evenly. 5. After analyzing how the towns utilize the amenity resources to make them tourist attraction, it is shown that Geundeok-myeon of SamCheok is the best town which is using fishing village's amenity resources well, and Yangnam-myeon and Yangbuk-myeon of GyeongJu are scarcely using them. About types of tourist attraction, the programs with scenic view of fishing village, with water-sport, and with Eco-experience are needed to improved.

  • This study analyzed the impact of Higher-order resources on profit sustainability for domestic companies using a mathematical statistical model. Higher-order resources refer to resources that do not directly affect profits but influence other resources that directly contribute to profits. As a result of analysis using 30 years of actual data from more than 650 domestic companies, the average duration of competitive advantage including high-order resources was found to be about twice as long as the period suggested by the autoregressive model excluding high-order resources. Through this, if companies want to earn more profits over a long period of time than their competitors, they must not only possess resources that are more valuable, rare, difficult to imitate, and non-substitutable compared to their competitors, but also that higher-order resources can contribute to changes in these resources over time. It was confirmed that it must lead the long-term profit difference. High-level resources include strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) capabilities, and good forecasting.

  • In this study, we report a unrecorded plant on the Korean peninsula, Potamogeton × anguillanus Koidz. from Yeondangcheon (stream) in Yeondang-ri, Nam-myeon, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do province. Potamogeton × anguillanus is a natural hybrid between P. wrightii Morong. and P. perfoliatus L. It is distinguished by its characteristic that the petiole is shorter than P. wrightii and that the leaf blade is narrower and longer than P. perfoliatus also, it didn't fully wrap the stem. Considering that P. × anguillanus is a natural hybrid, the name is given to it as 'Eol-chi-gi-dae-ga-rae'. We provide descriptions of the morphological characteristics, photographs, and key to allied taxa in Korea of P. × anguillanus.

  • The performance of Rainfall-Runoff Forecasting System (RRFS), the watershed management model for the Geum river basin, is evaluated based on the agreement between the simulated and observed hydrographs and the behavioral characteristics of the flow-duration curves. As a result, the simulated hydrographs are well agreed with the observed ones except high flow discharges. It is inferred that most of the errors in the simulated hydrographs are due to the misestimation of agricultural water use in $2^{nd}$ quarter and the discrepancy of the peak discharges in $3^{rd}$ quarter. It is however judged that RRFS would give the reliable runoff hydrographs from the point of view of continuous model application. And simulated flow-duration curves and flow-duration coefficients are also similar to the observed ones except flood flow region. From the above result it is confirmed that the construction of Yongdam dam improves the state of flow-duration curve at the Gongjoo station.

  • This paper aims to investigate the effects of Smart-Work IT resources on job performance. The survey was conducted amongst the business workers who are currently engaged in domestic major companies as well as small businesses, and analyzed based on the frequency, factor and reliability. Using PROCESS Macro, we conducted an analysis of the relationship between the IT resources and job performance, treating collective intelligence as a mediating parameter. The results of the study are as follows. First, the IT resources of the companies were found to have a meaningful effect on job performance. Second, the IT resources were found to have no effect on employee productivity except through their effect on the collective intelligence. Finally, while openness and cooperation were found to be the aspects of collective intelligence which mediated between IT resources and workflow improvement, participation, openness and cooperation were found to be the aspects of collective intelligence which mediated between IT resources and workflow coordination, In the future, it is necessary to compare quantitatively the financial performance of Smart-Work adopters and others in the same industry or to compare the financial performance before and after introducing Smart-Work dynamically within the same company.
