Business organizations suffer from transferring information technology(IT) into practice. If the problem is solely an technical issue, the strategy to solve the problem is assumed to be identical regardless of the cultural differences of the organizations. Many studies, however, indicated that the cultural differences between organizations were attributed to the differences of championing behaviors in the organizations. The study develops the cultural model of IT transfer from well developed countries to the less developed countries. It is assumed that the outcomes of IT systems are affected by the cultural sets, technology acculturation, and national technology infrastructure. This study examines the effects of cultural sets and technology acculturation on the outcome of IT systems, however. The analysis results show that technological acculturation has strong relationship with the individual IT outcomes and the cultural sets. The cultural sets, however, did not show any significant relation with the individual IT outcomes in the context of the structural model even though the correlation between the cultural sets and the IT outcomes were relatively high. Thus, kit is considered that the interaction between the technological acculturation and the cultural sets might interfere the relations.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop course outcomes for nursing students by applying Hauenstein's theory. Methods: The research was conducted in three steps as follows: identifying exit outcomes related to the Adult Nursing course, developing Adult Nursing course outcomes based on the theory of Hauenstein, and finalizing Adult Nursing course outcomes. Results: Exit outcomes achievable in Adult Nursing were generated after a needs analysis survey among students, nurses and professors was conducted and subsequently reviewed by professors specializing in the subject. For theoretical courses, the level of the course outcomes was derived from the cognitive domain, whereas, for practical courses, it was derived, in stages, from the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. Next, using taxonomical terms that can properly address the level of each domain, course outcomes for theoretical and practical courses were determined. After expert opinion was sought, the final course outcome for the Adult Nursing course was produced. Conclusion: The results are meaningful in that valid course outcomes were developed through the process described above and are expected to greatly contribute to reaching exit outcomes and strengthen the professional capacity of nursing students.

The purpose of this study is to improve the effectiveness of Course Embedded Assessment(CEA) program through the development and application of the Program Outcomes Assessment System. This is a methodological study which is developing the Program Outcomes Assessment System based on Web-based CEA and applying it to assess the achievements of students by professors teaching them The Web-based CEA system has been developed by implementing a software development life cycle. First, a demanded survey was conducted for the system development, and the results were applied for developing the Web-based CEA. The CEA was used for assessing the achievement of students by professors charging them. Finally, another survey was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the CEA in professors who experimented it. By implementing the Program Outcomes Assessment System, it is possible to monitor the achievement of the program outcomes and CQI of individual students at the time of graduation. Also It makes it possible to check the unaccomplished achievements of students, analyze the causes regarding uncompleted works, and find ways to enhance students to improve their ability.

Background : In this paper patient outcomes research is going to be reviewed and described, to be compared with relevant studies, and to consider the application in Korea. Methods : We compiled and reviewed the articles and materials related to patient outcomes research especially by PORT(Patient Outcomes Research Team) and rearranged them for seeking the main point and comparing with relevant studies. Results : Patient outcomes research emphasizes patient outcomes as well as conventional clinical outcomes. It is prospective study observing effectiveness in real situation instead of efficacy in ideal condition. Patient outcomes research comprises of 6 fields ; literature review and meta-analysis, use of claims data, decision modeling, outcomes assessment, cost of care, dissemination of research findings. SAA(small-area variations analysis), appropriateness study and clinical practice guideline are connected with patient outcomes research. Conclusion : In view of the fact that current medical policy in Korea is shifting its focus from accessibility to the improvement in quality and cost containment, and is stressing patient-based research, patient outcomes research is one direction for which the medicine is accountable and assessable. Considering that the number of patient receiving medical treatment in Korea is higher than the West, patient outcomes research has competitive power as against the West.
In recent years, the design has formed and operated convergence education in conjunction with many other academic fields, and ABEEK also encourages the participation of convergence engineering programs. The purpose of this study is to require design and software convergence major to operate program that accord engineering education certification criteria to develop a program outcomes evaluation system and examine its validity. The program outcomes evaluation system was developed in accordance with development research methods and procedures. As a result, developed evaluation system program outcomes for convergence-based program outcomes: convergence ability, creative thinking ability, entrepreneur ability, and design ability. Finally, it revised and supplemented them through expert validity examine. Expert validity review included 9 experts in engineering, IT engineering, education technology, and design. The validity, usefulness, intelligibility, universality, and explanatory power of the evaluation system were reviewed. The results of this study are expected to provide practical tools for operating ABBEK of convergence programs between design and engineering.
Multivariate data are often generated with multiple outcomes in various fields. Multiple outcomes could be mixed as continuous and discrete. Because of their complexity, the data are often dealt with by separately applying regression analysis to each outcome even though they are associated the each other. This univariate approach results in the low efficiency of estimates for parameters. We study the efficiency gains of the multivariate approaches relative to the univariate approach with the mixed data that include continuous and binary outcomes. All approaches yield consistent estimates for parameters with complete data. By jointly estimating parameters using multivariate methods, it is generally possible to obtain more accurate estimates for parameters than by a univariate approach. The association between continuous and binary outcomes creates a gap in efficiency between multivariate and univariate approaches. We provide a guidance to analyze the mixed data.
This paper proposes learning modules as a kind of integrated instruction model for soft skills program outcomes to enable CEA. Learning modules consist of course learning objectives(outcomes) described in detail, learning content(elements), learning activities(teaching learning methods), evaluation methods, evaluation rubrics so that they can be evaluated based on the performance criteria of the program learning outcomes. The unit of time for the learning module is 50 minutes. If this learning module is applied, it is expected that the soft skill program outcomes can be evaluated in the technical course. As a result of the expert feasibility study, the positive answers were much higher than the negative answers in most of the questions about the composition of the learning module or the method of managing the class.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the factors affecting the survival outcomes of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest based on the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survey by the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 2012 to 2016. Methods: Out of 84,776 cases, 57,104 cases of cardiac arrest were analyzed. To identify the factors that affect survival outcomes after a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), we performed a logistic regression using SPSS. We also performed a multilevel analysis using SAS to determine whether the survival outcomes were affected by the socioeconomic level and health index of the communities. Results: When SCA was witnessed by someone, the possibility of discharge with survival outcomes increased by a factor of 4.54. If CPR was administered immediately in emergency situations, this possibility further increased. When defibrillation was performed before hospitalization, the possibility was increased by a factor of 10.31. The multilevel analysis reflected the personal and regional factors that had an impact on the survival outcomes. Conclusion: Because the initial response in SCA is crucial, a community response system is essential before hospitalization. It is necessary to actively publicize and educate the people because the their understanding, sympathy, and cooperation in emergency situations play a role in determining the survival outcomes of the patients.
This study aimed to seek the ways of improving program outcomes assessment systems for engineering education accreditation of South Korea through performing comparative analysis on those of the United States. Case-study research method was implemented to achieve the research goal. Five university programs, which have been well recognized as good practices in engineering education accreditation in the United States, were selected and analyzed. In addition, those of three universities in South Korea were chosen for comparative analysis, which were reformed by university affiliated Engineering Education Innovative Centers. The analysis results indicated that there were differences in each program's program outcomes, assessment level of program outcomes, evaluation methods on program outcomes achievement, and analysis and improvement records. It was drawn up that the evaluation methods on program outcomes achievement should be paid full attention. For better program outcomes assessment system, however, the followings are in more attention. Firstly, to establish program outcomes reflecting program goal. Secondly, to set up the detailed plans for analysis and quality improvement on program outcomes. Thirdly, to keep continuing efforts on curriculum update.
Many studies of experimental economics have produced outcomes which contradict the predictions of Nash equilibrium, which relies heavily upon the premise of selfishness of an individual. In the games involving contexts of social conflicts represented by the prisoners' dilemma game, the experiments yields outcomes quite different from what are predicted by the conventional wisdom. In order to fill this gap between the conventional Nash Equilibrium and experimental outcomes, non-selfish (or other-regarding) motives of human behavior are introduced and then a new equilibrium concept, RAE-equilibrium is developed. It is also proved that an RAE-equilibrium exists under quite general conditions. Then it is applied to the prisoners' dilemma game that some of the experimental outcomes can be explained.
