Domestic Environment Analysis for Building FTB Aircraft with AESA Radar (AESA Radar 탑재 FTB 항공기 구축을 위한 국내환경 분석)

  • Recently, active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, electro-optical and infrared (EO-IR) and infra-red search and track (IRST) sensors are under development in the Korean fighter experimental(KF-X) project, and AESA radar is currently undergoing preliminary research for flight testing. This paper focuses on the flying test bed (FTB) aircraft operation cases of developed countries in accordance with AESA radar development. As a result, we review domestic laws and regulations related to the airworthiness for FTB aircraft to operate in domestic environment and look for ways to operate FTB aircraft. Therefore, we propose how to selecting, airworthiness and operating FTB aircraft suitable for the domestic environment.

Study of the Diffusion of Phosphorus Dependent on Temperatures for Selective Emitter Doping Process of Atmospheric Pressure Plasma (대기압 플라즈마의 선택적 도핑 공정에서 온도에 의한 인(Phosphorus)의 확산연구)

  • In this study, we propose the application of doping process technology for atmospheric pressure plasma. The plasma treatment means the wafer is warmed via resistance heating from current paths. These paths are induced by the surface charge density in the presence of illuminating Argon atmospheric plasmas. Furthermore, it is investigated on the high-concentration doping to a selective partial region in P type solar cell wafer. It is identified that diffusion of impurities is related to the wafer temperature. For the fixed plasma treatment time, plasma currents were set with 40, 70, 120 mA. For the processing time, IR(Infra-Red) images are analyzed via a camera dependent on the temperature of the P type wafer. Phosphorus concentrations are also analyzed through SIMS profiles from doped wafer. According to the analysis for doping process, as applied plasma currents increase, so the doping depth becomes deeper. As the junction depth is deeper, so the surface resistance is to be lowered. In addition, the surface charge density has a tendency inversely proportional to the initial phosphorus concentration. Overall, when the plasma current increases, then it becomes higher temperatures in wafer. It is shown that the diffusion of the impurity is critically dependent on the temperature of wafers.

  • The spatio-temporal variation of Infra Red(IR) emission images were obtained from a real 3-dimensional discharge space of a surface discharge type, alternating current plasma display panel(AC PDP) cell with the Ne-Xe(4%) 400Torr gas mixture. IR emissions were observed in each period of the ADS(Address and Display Separation) driving scheme with ramp initializing waveform using an images intensified charge coupled device(ICCD) camera. The roles of each electrode were identified and it was compared with the results of the discharge simulation and of the wall charge distributions measured by the electro-optic technique.

Studies on Structure and Color of the White Antheraea pernyi, Silkworm Cocoon

  • Traditional Antheraea pernyi silkworm cocoon is tawny color. The white Antheraea pernyi silkworm cocoons studied here by IR and UV are new breeds of recent breeding. We discovered that the main body of the first grade structure of silk protein in the new white is as same as the one in the traditional tawny Antheraea pernyi silkworm cocoon, yet there are small quantities of cross-linked polymer of gentisic acid and silk protein in the white silkworm cocoons. In spite of the least surviving quantity of the polymer, the white silkworm cocoons are most white and its white color is similar to white Bombyx mori silkworm cocoon.

Near-IR Polarimetry Survey of the Large Magellanic Cloud : Photometric Reliability Test

  • We present near-IR imaging polarimetry of the 5${\times}$9 fields (-39'${\times}$69') centered at 30 Doradus in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), using the InfraRed Survey Facility (IRSF). We obtained polarimetry data in J, H, and Ks bands using the JHKs-simultaneous imaging polarimeter SIRPOL in 2008 December and 2011 December. We measured Stokes parameters of point-like sources to derive the degree of polarization and the polarization position angle. Since our results are suffered from non-photometric weather, we compare the polarization results from 2008 and those from 2011, and examine the photometric reliabilities between the two runs. Our survey data will be compared with molecular and dust maps to reveal the large-scale magnetic field properties in the star-forming clouds.

  • We present wide-field near-IR imaging polarimetry of 30 Doradus, using the InfraRed Survey Facility(IRSF) 1.4 m telescope at the South African Astronomical Observatory. We obtained polarimetry data in J, H, and Ks bands using the JHKs-simultaneous imaging polarimeter SIRPOL. 30 Doradus is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud(LMC) and it is the most active starburst region known in the Local group of galaxies. 30 Doradus is one of the best field to examine the behavior of the interstellar medium and star-formation mechanism under different conditions. We will investigate the structure of magnetic field in 30 Doradus region.

  • We present near-IR imaging polarimetry of the observed $5{\times}9$ fields (${\sim}39'{\times}69'$) in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), using the InfraRed Survey Facility (IRSF). We obtained polarimetry data in J, H, and Ks bands using the JHKs-simultaneous imaging polarimeter SIRPOL. We measured Stokes parameters of point-like sources to derive the degree of polarization and the polarization position angle. We show a polarization vector map in the reduced 45 fields and the statistical distribution of the polarization degrees and angles. This poster presents the preliminary results to show the physical properties of the magnetic field in the observed LMC regions.

  • We performed near-IR imaging polarimetry of the $5{\times}9$ fields (${\sim}39^{\prime}{\times}69^{\prime}$) around 30 Doradus in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), using the InfraRed Survey Facility (IRSF). We obtained polarimetry data in the J, H, and Ks bands using the JHKs-simultaneous imaging polarimeter SIRPOL in 2008 December and 2011 December. With the reliable LMC field data which were selected using a bad-data-rejection algorithm, we measured Stokes parameters of point-like sources to derive the degree of polarization and the polarization position angle. We present physical relationship between the three bands using the photometric and the polarimetric properties of the sources.

  • A drone without attaching guns or bombs can be a dangerous weapon, since its motor speed is greater than 3000 rpm, which is similar to that of a mower powered by a LiPo battery. The anti-drone system is the only means of detecting and neutralizing drone attacks. Many defense companies around the world provide solutions using various types of equipment (for example, radar, cameras, jamming guns, and net guns). ETRI has also developed a Low-Altitude Drone Detection (LADD) system consisting of Ku-band radar and an Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) camera. In this paper, we summarize recent technical advances in anti-drone systems around the world and introduce the features and describe the performance of the LADD system.

A Study on the Infrared Signature of a Naval Ship under the Marine Climate (함정 표면 적외선 신호에 대한 해양기상 영향분석)

  • A study on the IR(InfraRed) signature of a naval ship has been performed using well known IR signature analysis software, ShipIR/NTCS. Variations of the IR signature radiated from skins of a naval ship have been investigated according to the monthly averaged marine climate conditions. An unclassified destroyer model with and without applying the washdown system was applied to compare the influence on the signature under the background changes. The marine background models were created from the observed data by a buoy of Korea Meterological Administration(KMA). The sensitivity of the ship signature against the climate variables such as air temperature, sea temperature, relative humidity has been studied as well. The seasons which show extreme(max, min) skin signature change by whether the washdown is applied or not. The sensitivities of the air temperature and the sea temperature for a dry-ship reversed by applying the washdown on the ship surfaces.
