This paper presents an application layer multicast tree constructing algorithm to minimize the average time delay from the sender to end-systems for the effective real-time media delivery. Simultaneously, the proposed algorithm takes into account the computing power and the network condition of each end-system as a control variable and thus avoids the undesirable case that loads are concentrated to only several end-systems. The multicast tree is constructed by clustering technique and modified Dijkstra's algorithm in two steps, i.e. tree among proxy-senders and tree in each cluster. By the experimental results, we show that the proposed algorithm can provide an effective solution.

The interest for IPv6, Which is next generation IP, increases, while th difficulty for adopting it into IT indestries also increase too. We also expect that Internet technologies develop 0 basis of All-IP networks, which include various heterogeneous networks. Therefore, it is necessary for network to support mobility and multicast capavility to create application with wide-variety- In this paper, we propose a scheme that be able to provide mobility and multicast efficient in IPv6 networks. The proposed scheme has been implemented and experimented on NS-2 and validated with respect to multicast packet delay time and count of Joining and pruning)
We present a new MDA-based Mobile-IPv6 multicast routing algorithm for wirelese service operators to offer Mobile-IP over IMT-2000 service under IMT-2000 network by taking advantage of the existing infrastructure for IMT-2000 multimedia application services. The extended IMT-2000 system architectures use an PDSNs (i.e. IWFs), and the home network (i.e. Internet) backbone and intermediate network are composed of ATM entities. A key feature of the new protocol is the use of MDA(Multicast Delivery Agent) to reduce delivery path length of the multicast datagram. We show that proposed protocol is efficient in terms of various performance measures such as multicast traffic load, multicast related handoff, and average routing length when we implement it using the Mobile-IPv6. Particularly, the number of tunneling and average routing length of datagram are reduced relatively, the multicast traffic load is also decreased.

While the advantages of multicast delivery over multiple unicast deliveries is undeniable, the deployment of the IP multicast protocol has been limited to network domains under single administrative control. Deployment of inter-domain multicast delivery has been slow due to both technical and administrative reasons. For this reasons overlay multicasting technologies are recently proposed. We propose a End-Host Multicast Tree Protocol (EMTP) that searches two levels of the tree at a time until reaching to a leaf node and can select the nearest node that a new node try to join in the tree. Even if there is no available degree of the desirable node that a new node want to join, selecting the node as a potential parent by EMTP can reduce the number of tree switching with robustness of the tree and bring to ruduce the data delivery time.
Multicasting is the delivery of a packet simultaneously to one or more destinations using a single, local transmit operation. Typically the set of destinations is referred to as a multicast group. sources transmit to these group addresses without knowing the group's actual membership. We have studied an implementation of one model of supporting IP multicast over ATM, the Multicast over ATM model developed by the IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force). MCOA(Multicast over ATM) that includes both these modes of operation and the behavior of each in a testbed where the ATM host were connected in a WAN and LAN. WAN topology was to gain insight into the effects of larger propagation delays on the MC over ATM model.
Since the IP multicast was proposed, there have been many research works on reliable multicast protocols[1]. In multicast communication, many reliable multicast schemes were studied in order to overcome packet losses in the network. However the fact that packets are lost in the underlying networks but the solutions are sought in the end hosts makes the search for solutions difficult. If routers can identify packets before dropped from congestion, the routers can initiate recovery process. recovery scheme by routers is proposed. This scheme is much faster than by sender-initiated or receiver-initiated recovery and latency is smaller.
Fast handover is essential to support seamless multicast service in MIPv6. To reduce handover latency of multicast, there are two handover mechanisms, one is M-FMIP that prepares fast L3 handover before L2 handover and the other is M-HMIP that performs local area mobile multicast management. This paper proposes M-FHMIP that integrates an advantage of M-FMIP and M-HMIP, and analyzes the multicast handover latency.

We design and implement explicit mobile multicast, named XMIP, by enhancing explicit multicast for a great number of small group multicast communications. XMIP is a straightforward multicast mechanism without maintaining multicast states due to the inheritance from the explicit multicast based on a unicast routing. This research modifies and extends the functionality of each mobility agent of IETF Mobile IP for interworking XMIP XMIP Packets captured by an extended home agent are forwarded to each extended foreign agent through nested tunnels, named X-in-X tunnels, made by the binding table of the extended home agent. X-in-X tunneling mechanism can effectively solve the serious traffic concentration problems of Mobile IP multicast specifications. Finally heterogeneous mobile networks as an XMIP testbed including CDMA2000 1X EV-DO and WLAN are actually established, and a multi-user instant messenger system for small group communications is developed for verifying the feasibility of the proposed protocols.

The proposed mechanism has an group management server, which manages the information about both the receivers and the senders. Any receiver can dynamically join/leave the multicast VC. The signaling overload due to group membership changes is not concentrated on the sender, but it is distributed to many receivers for the scalability improvement. The associated signaling messages propagates from the receivers to the ATM switch dedicated to the multicast VC, and hence no signaling overload exists in the shared links there is no latency for the receiver to wait. Our proposed scheme is superior in the view of scalability, the efficiency and the latency to other schemes.
Mobile IP is a solution to support mobile nodes, however, it does not handle NEtwork MObility (NEMO). The NEMO Basic Support (NBS) protocol ensures session continuity for all the nodes in the mobile network. Since the protocol is based on Mobile IP, it inherits the same fundamental problem such as tunnel convergence, when supporting the multicast for NEMO. In this paper, we propose the multicast route optimization scheme for NEMO environment. We assume that the Mobile Router (MR) has a multicast function and the Nested Mobile Router Information (NeMRI) table. The NeMRI is used to record o list of the CoAs of all the MRs located below it. And it covers whether MRs desire multicast services. Any Route Optimization (RO) scheme can be employed here for pinball routing. Therefore, we achieve optimal routes for multicasting based on the given architecture. We also propose cost analytic models to evaluate the performance of our scheme. We observe significantly better multicast cost in NEMO compared with other techniques such as Bi-directional Tunneling, Remote Subscription, and Mobile Multicast based on the NBS protocol.
