Various dienamide derivatives were synthesized in reasonable yields from benzonitriles having an amide moiety at the ortho-position, via the sequential (i) In-mediated allylation of nitrile moiety to form an imine intermediate, (ii) intramolecular quenching of an acyl group by the imine intermediate, and (iii) a proton transfer to dienamide.

The intermediate of N'-nitrosonornicotine may bind to the guanine moiety of a G-C base pair. The hydrogen bond of the base pair may be broken and a new hydrogen bond can form between the intermediate and the guanine. It results in the "short" type of DNA repair.NA repair.

We study the existence of an intermediate solution of nonlinear elliptic boundary value problems (BVP) of the form $$ (BVP) {\Delta u = f(x,u,\Delta u), in \Omega {Bu(x) = \phi(x), on \partial\Omega, $$ where $\Omega$ is a smooth bounded domain in $R^n, n \geq 1, and \partial\Omega \in C^{2,\alpha}, (0 < \alpha < 1), \Delta$ is the Laplacian operator, $\nabla u = (D_1u, D_2u, \cdots, D_nu)$ denotes the gradient of u and $$ Bu(x) = p(x)u(x) + q(x)\frac{d\nu}{du} (x), $$ where $\frac{d\nu}{du} denotes the outward normal derivative of u on $\partial\Omega$.

Peroxidase activity of cytochrome P-450 was examined using N, N-dimethylaniline (NDA) as a substrate and cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) as an oxidant. The initial rates of the N-demethylation for varied concentrations of NDA (0.05-0.5 mM) by P-450 at different fixed concentrations of CHP (0.02-0.2 mM) were determined. The results suggest that P-450 proceeds its peroxidative reaction by the rapid equilibrium random bi bi mechanism to form a ternary complex with substrate and oxidant as an active intermediate.

As increasing the size and complexity of hard-ware and software system, more efficient design methodology has been developed. Especially design-reuse technique enables fast system development via integrating existing hardware and software. For this technique available hardware/software should be prepared as component-based parts, adaptable to various systems. This paper introduces a component-based VHDL analyzer allowing to be embedded in other applications, such as simulator, synthesis tool, or smart editor. VHDL analyzer parses VHDL description input, and performs lexical, syntactic, semantic checking, and finally generates intermediate-form data as the result. VHDL has full-features of object-oriented language such as data abstraction, inheritance, and polymorphism. To support these features special analysis algorithm and intermediate form is required. This paper summarizes practical issues on implementing high-performance/quality VHDL analyzer and provides its solution that is based on the intensive experience of VHDL analyzer development.

This paper describes the modeling of human memory using a nerve field model which is proposed for modeling the mechanism of brain mathematically. In our model, two phases of memory, retention and recollection, are focused on. The former consists of two stages, short-term memory (STM) and long-term memory (LTM). The proposed model consists of three parts, the STM Layer, LTM Layer and the Intermediate Layer between them. Each of these is constructed by a nerve field. In the STM Layer, memorized information is retained dynamically in the form of the reverberating states of units within the layer, while in the LTM Layer, it is stored statically in the form of structures of the weight on the links between units. the Intermediate Layer is introduced to translate this dynamic representation in the STM Layer to the LTNI Layer, and also to extract the static information from the STM Layer. In addition to this, we consider the recollection of information stored in the LTM. Finally, the behavior of this model is demonstrated by computer simulation.

The DSP silicon compiler consists of language compiler, module generator, placement tool, router, layout generation tools, and simulator. In this paper, The language compiler, the module generator, placement tool, and simulator were developed and provided for the system designer. The language compiler translates the designer's system description language into the intermediate form file. The intermediate form file expresses the interconnections and specifications of the cells in the cell library. The simulator was developed and provided for the behavioral verification of the DSP system. For its implementation, the event-driven technique and the C$^{++}$ task library was used. The module generator was developed for the layout of the verified DSP system, and generates the functional block to be used in the DSP chip. And then the placement tool determines the appropriate positions of the cells in the DSP chip. In this paper, the placement tool was implemented by Min-Cut and Simulated Annealing algorithm. The placement process can be controlled by the several conditions input by the system designer.

Based on the extended spatial mobilization plane (SMP) criterion, we present an elastic-brittle-plastic solution for an axisymmetric cylindrical tunnel. The influences of the intermediate principal compressive stress and material strain-softening behavior are considered. Closed-form formulas for the critical support force, radius of plastic zone, and distributions of stress and displacement in surrounding rock are proposed. The elastic-plastic solution based on SMP is compared with the Kastner solution to verify the credibility of the obtained elastic-plastic solution. The elastic-brittle-plastic solution following the SMP criterion and the current solution based on the Mohr-Coulomb criterion are also compared. The rock strain-softening rate and the intermediate principal stress affect the stability of the surrounding rock. The results provide guidance for optimizing the design of support systems for tunnels.

피조개 부착치패의 중간양성시 생존율을 향상시키기 위하여 보호망의 형태 및 유실 방지망의 종류에 따른 부착치패의 성장 및 생존을 조사하였다. 보호망의 형태별로 60일간 중간양성한 부착치패의 성장은 노출형이 평균 각장 $12.8{\pm}3.2$ mm로 가장 빨랐으며(P<0.05), 통발형이 $12.2{\pm}3.5$ mm, 원통형이 $11.9{\pm}3.8$ mm, 직사각형이 $10.9{\pm}3.7$ mm순으로 큰 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 생존율은 통발형이 43.7%, 원통형이 41.2%, 직사각형이 31.6%로 보호망의 형태에 따라 통발형 및 원통형이 직사각형보다 높았으며, 노출형이 5.4%로 매우 낮았다(P<0.05). 유실 방지망 종류별로 163일간 중간양성한 부착치패의 성장은 차광막이 평균 각장 $13.9{\pm}3.1$ mm로 가장 빨랐고(P<0.05), 여자망이 $12.9{\pm}3.0$ mm, PE망이 $11.8{\pm}3.1$ mm 및 대조구가 $12.6{\pm}3.3$ mm 순으로 나타났으며, 생존율은 차광막이 91.5%, PB망이 90.1%, 여자망이 88.5%로 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그러나 유실 방지망을 설치하지 않은 대조구에서는 61.5%로 설치한 시험구보다 유의하게 낮았다(P<0.05). 피조개 부착치패의 중간양성시 보호망은 통발형 및 원통형을 사용하면 채묘망과 보호망 간의 공간이 확보되어 마찰에 의한 탈락을 방지하고, 해수의 소통이 원활하여 높은 생존율을 기대할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 그리고 보호망목의 크기는 2 mm 내외를 사용하여 해수의 유통이 비교적 원활히 되도록 하였으며, 일시적으로 탈락하는 개체의 유실을 방지하기 위하여 부착치패 채묘망과 직각으로 설치한 결과 높은 생존율을 보였다. 유실 방지망 종류별 중간양성시험 결과는 시험기간이 겨울철이여서 태풍 등의 영향을 전혀 받지 않았고, 보호망에 부착물질이 거의 없어 생존율이 매우 높았다. 겨울철 중간양성이 여름철 중간양성 보다 생존율에서는 월등히 높은 결과를 나타내어 산업화를 위해서는 유리할 것으로 추정되었다. 따라서 피조개 부착치패 중간양성 시기는 태풍 등의 위험한 시기를 피하여 조절하고, 피조개 부착치패의 중간양성시 통발형 및 원통형의 보호망과 유실 방지망을 병행하여 사용하면 높은 생존율을 기대할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다.

In this paper, two kind of free-form progressive addition lenses (PALs) were designed with Zernike polynomial surface and anatomically accurate finite presbyopic schematic eyes which have aspheric cornea, aspheric GRIN crystalline lens, aspheric retina, and Gaussian apodization factor. Geometrical and diffraction MTFs were used for the optimization process in sequence. 5th orders of Zernike polynomials were used for the evaluation of progression zones of the two examples. The target MTF was set as 0.22 at 100 lp/mm which satisfies the standard visual resolution. These examples were fabricated with a CNC diamond turning machine controlled by slow tool servo (STS). After polishing process, the wavefront aberrations were measured with a laser interferometer on the ten test points across the progression zones and then compared with three current commercially available PALs on the optical performance. Astigmatic aberrations of the examples are very lower than the three selected PALs and have more increased stabilized progressive intermediate zones and near zones. It is expected to give better clear and comfortable distance, intermediate and near visions than other conventional PALs and to improve the adaptability of presbyopic patients to PALs.
