The purpose of this study is to estimate how much the motility of affected and unaffected lower limb respectively would have effects on their ambulation through comparing the difference between their affected and unaffected lower limb and studying the correlation between such difference and their ambulation. In addition, the study also intends to find out remedial measures suitable for improving their ambulation with relevant physical treatment. To do this, a quantitative electromyogram(QEMG) test was done to both quadriceps and hamstring of affected and unaffected lower limb so as to yield IP values. Based on such IP values, RMS(root mean square) values as the total sum of IP values were found with QEMG analysis system (made by Medelec Co.) and then the ambulation depending on the difference in muscular strength were analyzed by ink-foot print method as well as the corresponding statistics were processed by T-test through SPSS. The effect of differences in muscular strength of quadriceps in affected and unaffected limb of hemiplegic patients on their ambulation was also different in each element of ambulation. However, there was not any statistically significant difference (p>.05). The differences in muscular strength of hamstring in unaffected limbs of hemiplegic patients only affect stride length. It was statistically significant. The effect of difference in muscular strength of the hamstring in affected limb of hemiplegic patients on their ambulation was very different between strong and weak group in terms of walking velocity, step per minute, stride and step length, showing statistically significant difference(p<.05). Although there was a difference in the step length of the affected limb, it was not statistically significant(p>.05). For the unaffected hamstring, there were significant differences of stride length between in unaffected limb and in affected limb. For the affected hamstring, there were also significant differences in walking velocity, step per minute, stride and step length. Besides, it was found that the difference of the muscular strength between strong and weak group was at the highest. Thus, the effect of difference in muscular strength on ambulatory factors such as walking velocity, step per minute, stride and step length did not show any statistical significance but differences in affected and unaffected quadriceps. However, it was found that both the difference of stride in unaffected hamstring and the difference of all ambulatory factors except from step length with affected limb had effects on ambulation depending upon muscular strength.

This study is on development of UV-cured anti-stain coating compounds which have more improved anti-stain function to prevent a surface of PVC tile from stain. To make an anti-stain coating composition, water soluble antistatic agent made from ammonium(IV) salt, antistatic agents for acrylic and polyurethane were used. Their contents varied from 5 to 20wt% against quantities of resin in coating composition. After coating PVC tiles using bar-coating method that can adjust a thickness, we estimated surface properties of coated layer such as anti-stain, electric resistance, adhesive power, thickness of coating, and so on. Results showed that a coating composition added 15wt% of water soluble antistatic agent and coated with No.12 bar-coater had the optimum surface property in electric resistance($3.24{\times}10^9{\Omega}/cm^2$), anti-stain(ink Test, Dust Test) and adhesive power. We could also find electric resistance and anti-stain effect were improved as antistatic agent content increased. However, excessive addition of antistatic agents(over 20wt%) caused the migration.

The possibility of acute hepatotoxicity caused by dimethylformamide (DMF) requires regular monitoring of the workers who are using DMF to prevent the occupational disease. The authors performed ambient and biological monitoring of workers involved in synthetic leather manufacturing processes using DMF to assess the correlation between the markers of ambient and biological monitoring of DMF. The authors monitored 142 workers occupationally exposed to DMF from 19 workshops in the synthetic leather and ink manufacturing industries located in northern region of Gyeonggi-do. The subjects answered questionnaire on work procedure and use of personal protective equipment to be classified by exposure type. DMF in air samples collected using personal air samplers, diffusive and active sampler, was analysed using gas chromatograph-flame ionization detector (GC-FID) with DB-FFAP column (length 30 m, i.d. 0.25 mm, film thickness 0.25 ${\mu}m$). Urinary N-methylformamide (NMF) was analysed using gas chromatograph-mass selective detector (GC-MSD) at selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode with DB-624 column (length 60 m, i.d. 0.25 mm, film thickness 1.40 ${\mu}m$). Geometric mean (GM) and geometric standard deviation (GSD) of the ambient DMF was $6.85{\pm}3.43$ ppm, and GM and GSD of urinary NMF was $42.3{\pm}2.7$ mg/L. The ratio of subjects with DMF level over 10 ppm was 44%, and those with urinary NMF over 15 mg/L was 87%. NMF in urine adjusted by DMF in air was $4.61{\pm}2.57$ mg/L/ppm and $9.50{\pm}2.41$ mg/L/ppm, respectively, with or without respirator. There was seasonal differences of NMF in urine adjusted by DMF in air, $7.63{\pm}2.74$ mg/L/ppm in summer and $4.53{\pm}2.29$ mg/L/ppm in winter. The urinary NMF concentration which corresponds to 10 ppm of ambient DMF was 52.7 mg/L (r=0.650, n=128). Considering the difference of the route of exposure which resulted from the compliance of wearing personal protective equipment, the estimated contribution of respiratory and dermal exposure route for DMF was 48.5% vs. 51.5%.
This paper is to investigate the bearing capacity and the failure mechanism of slope subjected to strip surcharges adjassent to embankment slope of sandy soil. Parametric model tests under plain strain condition were performed by changing width of footing, relative density of slope materials, and position of footing from the crest of slopes. For model tests, Jumunjin standard sand was used as the slope material and its relative density was 45% and 70%, respectively. The angle of slope was formed with 1 : 1.5 and 1 2. Rigid model footings, made of aluminuu were used with their widths of 4, 7, 10 and 12cm. For the position of model footing, position ratios, distance of model footing from the crest of slope divided by footing width, were 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Failure mechanism was observed by using ink colored sands and markers inserted in model slopes. Ultimate bearing capacity obtained from tests was analyzed and compared with limit equilibrium method, limit analysis method and empirical equation. Characteristics of load-settlement curves and failure mechanism were also analyzed and compared with the existing theories. Thus, their effects on ultimate bearing capacity of model footing adjacent to slope were assessed.

Precipitated calcium carbonate is one of the most versatile mineral fillers and is consumed in an wide range of products including paper, paint, plastics, rubber, textiles, sealants, adhesives and printing ink and can be produced by several methods. Calcium carbonate has three isomorphism; vaterite, aragonite and calcite, with numerous variations of morphology in the natural mineral or organism. Formation process of vaterite in the reaction of system $Ca(OH)_2-CH_3OH-H_2O-CO_2$ were investigated by measuring the electrical conductivity, $Ca^{2+}$ ion concentration, pH in the slurries and by means of X-ray diffraction and electron microscopic observation. It was clearly established that the reaction temperature is important variable in the carbonation process; in general over 50${\circ}C$, the vaterite was precipitated with the calcite and aragonite. SEM and XRD observations revealed that the vaterite formation could be prepared the temperature range of 40 to 50${\circ}C$ and mean size of particles in this range is controlled from 0.5 to 0.8 ${\mu}m$.
The application of Nd:YAG laser and irrigants to the root surface can change its surface configurations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Nd:YAG laser and irrigants on the apical seal of obturated canals. In this study, 66 single rooted teeth were randomly assigned to 4 group of 14 teeth each. 8 teeth were served us positive and negative controls. The teeth were divided into 6 groups as follows. Group A: Nd:YAG laser, 5% NaOCl + Rc-prep Group B: Nd:YAG laser, Saline Group C: 5% NaOCl + Rc-prep Group D: Saline Group E: Positive control Group F: Negative control 66 teeth were instrumented using Maillefer ProFile$^{\circledR}$ (Orifice Shapers, .04 taper, .06 taper Dentsply, Switzerland). Two of each group were selected at random, and the canal wall surfaces were examined under a SEM. 12 teeth of each group were obturated using by lateral condensation technique. Specimens were immersed in india ink for 7days, decalcified by 10% nitric acid, dehydrated by 75. 80. 85, 90, 95 and 100% alcohol in order cleared by methyl salicylate and then measured of dye penetration with stereomicroscope($\times$15 magnification) and Image Pro plus. The data were analyzed statistically by one-way ANOVA test and Duncan's Multiple Range test. The results were as follows : 1. The mean leakage was 0.128$\pm$0.376 for group A, 0.237$\pm$0.325 for group B, 0.397$\pm$0.468 for group C, 0.586$\pm$0.402 for group D, and there were statistically significant differences between group A and group D, group B and group D. (p<0.05). 2. Group A had better sealing ability than Group C, but there was statistically no significant differences. (p>0.05). 3. Group B had better sealing ability than Group D and there was statistically significant difference. (p<0.05). 4 Group A had better sealing ability than Group B, but there was statistically no significant difference. (p>0.05). 5. Group C had better sealing ability than Group D, but there was statistically no significant difference. (p>0.05). 6. As a result of observation under SEM, Smear layers were removed in Group A, B. but Smear layers were partially removed and smear plugs were remained in Group C, Smear layers were not removed in Group D. To be specially, Melting of smear layer were showed in Group C. 7. These results suggests that the laser has a potential in reducing the apical microleakage of obturated canals.

Inorganic pigments have been received a great attention for various applications including paint, glazed ceramic ink, art tile, and building exterior due to their excellent thermal and chemical stability. Traditionally, the compositions of $PbCrO_4$, CdS and CdSe have been widely used as a yellow inorganic pigment. However, the use of these compositions has been restricted in recent years, because they contain harmful elements such as Cd, Cr, Pb and Se. In this study, new environment-friendly ceria-based pigment was synthesized using solid state reaction. Crystal structure and morphology of the obtained $Ce_{1-x}Zr_xBi_yO_{2-y/2}$ yellow pigment were analyzed using XRD and SEM, respectively. Substitutional effect of Zr and Bi on the pigment color was analyzed using UV-vis. spectrophotometer and CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ analysis. The crystal structure of the obtained pigments was dependent on the calcination temperature. The color characteristics and absorption band of the pigments were dependent on the calcination temperature and Zr, Bi contents. As a result, all the obtained yellow pigments showed the effective absorption ranged from ultraviolet to visible light, and $Ce_{0.44}Zr_{0.36}Bi_{0.20}O_{0.19}$ (x = 0.36, y = 0.20) pigment showed the most brilliant yellow color.

Effect of the egg yolks from laying hens intubated, p.o., astaxanthin (designated AEY) on mouse humoral immunity was investigated using male ICR mouse (6~7 weeks of age). Mice were adapted in a temperature- and humidity- controlled house for one week and randomly divided into 5 treatment groups (9 mice/cage/treatment). Mice were intubated p.o., AEY (100, 250 and 500$\mu\textrm{g}$) or control egg yolks (CEY, 250$\mu\textrm{g}$), dissolved in 0.1 mL DMSO, for consecutive 4 days. At day 5, carbon suspension (pilot drawing ink 3 mL+3% gelatine 3 mL) was injected 3 $\mu$L Per 1 g body weight through tail vein. Carbon clearance time was measured at 5 and 35 minutes Post the injection of carbon suspension. Another two experiments were conducted to determine the hemagglultinin-titer (HGT) and hemolysin-titer (HLT) with male ICR mouse (8 mice/cage/treatment). Mice treated with AEY were induced immune activity with SRBC. HGT and HLT were measured from the blood at day 1 and 3 after treatment of SRBC. AEY treatment reduced the carbon clearance time. Especially the carbon clearance time by 500 $\mu\textrm{g}$ AEY treatment was 5.00 minutes, which was very short time compared with 9.42 minutes by control and 9.01 minutes by CEY. AEY group showed slights higher values of HGT and HLT than CEY group and control. At day 1, HGT in control, 250$\mu\textrm{g}$ CEY and 250$\mu\textrm{g}$ AEY groups was 5.50, 5.63, and 6.00, respectively. Similiarly, HLT in control, 250$\mu\textrm{g}$ CEY and 250$\mu\textrm{g}$ AEY groups was 4.75, 5.38, and 5.50, respectively, at day 1. These results suggest that AEY exhibited immunity-enhancing effect.
In this paper, the durability of an electromagnetic metamaterial absorber is verified in a temperature varying condition mimicking a maritime environment for the purpose of applying it to reduce the radar cross section of an integrated mast of the next-generation destroyer. To validate the durability, the reflectance of the electromagnetic metamaterial absorber was measured after storing it in a chamber that can control the temperature according to Procedure I of Method 501.7 included in MIL-STD-810H. Before and after the environmental test, both of the measured reflectances were retained less than -10 dB over the X band, that can guarantee the stealth functionality.
