  • In order to improve compressive strength of cement mortar, powder admixture(FAS) was mmufactured by mixing fly ash. Il-anhydite and silica hume, and superplasticizer was used for the control of fluidity reduction with the use of this admixture. Cement was substituted by 10, 20wt% of FAS respectively. At W/S = 0.40, the fluidity of' cement paste substituted by PAS was decreased. NSF and NT-2 were very effective fbr the control of fluidity reduction. As the particle size of U -anhydrite was fine, the fluidity of cement mortar was increased. The fluidity reduction of cement mortar substituted by 10wt% of FAS was controlled. The compressive strength of cement mortar substituted by 10wt% of FAS showed higher. value than that of 20wt%, expecially specimen(C1) substituted by 10wt% of $\gamma$ had the highest compressive strength value.

  • The purpose of this study evaluates possibilities of waste phosphogypsum into concerts by steam curing admixture. The waste phosphogypsum is made use of 4 forms(Dehydrate, $\beta$-Hemihydrate, III-Anhydrite and II-Anhydrite) which were changed to in low temperature of calcination. The penetration depth and compressive strength of cement mortar are investigated to evaluate the chloride ion and carbonation resistance. As a result, chloride ion and carbonation resistance of cement mortar admixed with waste phosphogypsum are more excellent than cement mortar contained OPC alone. The internal pores of cement mortar are decreased by using waste phosphogypsum, because the hydrates of ettringite which is denesified in structure is much formed in early ages at steam curing. These densified effect is concluded with improving the resistance to attack of cement mortar including waste phospogypsum.

  • In this study, it is investigated the mechanical chemical properties of cement matrix using phosphogypsum and kaolin as a admixture for the substitutive materials to silica fume which is so expensive. For the test, phosphogypsum is modified as dihydrate, hemihydrate, type III anhydrite, and type II anhydrite, respectively and furnaced kaolin at $900^{\circ}C$ was also manufactured into meta kaolin by air cooling and water cooling method. The chemical characteristic and mechanical properties of various type of blended cements contained above mentioned gypsum and meta kaolin materials analyzed and compared with those characteristics of cement matrix with silica fume. From the test, the cement mixed meta kaolin made in water cooling has more excellent quality than other material.

  • Hydration processes of the rapid hardening cement clinkers, which were synthesized from domestic alunite for major alumina source, limestone, kaolin and fluorite, were investigated by means of x-ray diffraction analysis, thermal analysis and microscopic observation etc. The clinkers were composed mainly of alite, calcium fluroaluminate (C11A7.CaF2) minerals. While the hydratio processes of the clinkers are altered by concentration of SO3 in the paste, calcium aluminate hydrates such as C4AH13, CAH10 and calcium monosulfate hydrate (C3A.CaSO4.12H2O) are formed at first and then some of them are transformed into ettringite(C3A.3CaSO4.32H2O) within 30~60 min. when the concentration of SO3 in the paste are enough. However the formed ettringite are changed slowly into calcium monosulfate hydrate as the concentration of SO3 become lowered, and the paste is hardened with these close-packed minerals. When the content of SO3 in clinker is so enough, calcium sulfoaluminate hydrates are found without any addition of anhydrite or hemi-hydrite.

  • As the circulating fluidized bed combustor(CFBC) boilers system to generate electric power increase in order to reduce environmental pollution, a lot of CFBC fly ashes(CFFA) are produced. CFFA has limited use in concrete because it contains free CaO, which can cause cement expansion and rapid initial hydration. In this study, the microstructure and the initial development of compressive strength characteristics were experimentally analyzed to be used as a stimulant to replace natural gypsum by mixing with CFFA and phosphate gypsum to enhance the initial strength of portland blast furnace slag cement. The recycled gypsum was used as flue-gas desulfurization gypsum and phosphate gypsum. Experimental results show that the initial strength development is relatively lower when CFFA and dihydrate gypsum are mixed, but the strength improvement effect of the mixture with CFFA and anhydrous gypsum as an anhydritedII typed crystalized gypsum is similar to that of natural gypsum. As a result, it w as analyzed to have high possibility of use for stimulant of portland blast furnace slag cement.

  • Mineralized zone in the Dongyang talc deposits occurs on the lowest dolomite member of the Hyangsanri Dolomite belonging to the Ogcheon Supergroup. Ore bodies are emplaced as pipe-like body along the axis of minor folds plunging $40^{\circ}$ to the west developed in these dolomite layers. Amphibolite and chlorite schist are found along the upper or lower contact of all ore bodies (Kim et al., 1963; Park and Kim, 1966). Following the recrystallization and silicification of dolomite, tremolite and tabular and leafy talc(I) of the earlier stage formed, and microcrystalline talc(II) formed in the later stage. Talc(l) and tremolite formed by the reaction between dolomite and the fluid. Whereas talc (II) formed by the reaction between dolomite and fluid, or by the reaction between early formed tremolite and fluid. During the early stage of mineralization, the fluid was the $H_2O-CO_2$ system dominant in $CO_2$, In the later stage, the composition of the fluid changed to $H_2O-NaCl-CO_2$system, and finally to the $H_2O-NaCl$ system. The pressure and temperature conditions of the formation of tremolite associated with talc(I) were 1,640~2,530 bar, and $440{\sim}480^{\circ}C$, respectively. The pressure and temperature condition of talc(II) ore formation was 1,400~2,200 bar, and $360{\sim}390^{\circ}C$, respectively. These conditions are much lower than the metamorphic pressure and temperature of the rocks from the Munjuri Formation located about 5 km to the noJ:th of Dongyang talc deposit ${\delta}^{13}C$ and ${\delta}^{18}O$ values of dolomite which is the host rock of the talc ore deposit are 2.9~5.7‰ (PDB), and -7.4~l6.8‰ (PDB), respectively. These values are little higher than those from the Cambro-Ordovician limestones of the Taebaeksan region, but belong to the range of the unaltered sedimentary dolomite. ${\delta}^{18}O$and ${\delta}D$ values of the talc from Dongyang deposit are 8.6~15.8‰ (vs SMOW), and -65~-90‰ (vs SMOW), respectively, belonging to the range of magmatic origin. These values are quite different from those measured in the metamorphic rocks of Munjuri and Kyemyungsan Formation. ${\delta}^{34}S$ value of anhydrite is 22.4‰ (CDT), which is much lower than ${\delta}^{34}S$ (30‰ vs COT) of sulfate of early Paleozoic period, and indicates the possibility of the addition of magmatic sulfur to the system. Talc ores show the textures of weak foliation and well developed crenulation cleavages. Talc ore deposit in the area is concluded as hydrothermal replacement deposit formed before the latest phase of the deformations that Ogcheon Belt has undergone.
