  • This paper deals with the vector control that control of torque and speed of the induction motor using field-oriented control method. Rotor flux is estimated using the indirect sensing method based on the rotor circuit equation in the synchronously rotation reference frame, and slip angle and rotor position are caculated from rotor angular velocity and stator current. Through modeling and digital simulation with a voltage source inverter, it is shown that the proposed scheme gives good static and dynamic performance to the induction motor drive.

  • Theoretical IPMSM control technique is complicated, and reliability is low because of the changing parameters. Further, in case of general look-up table designing method which obtains torque characteristics (according to current and speed) or torque characteristics (according to magnetic flux through the entire control region), obtaining a precise result can be difficult and has the disadvantage taking too much time to establish a current look-up table. In this paper, the new auto maximum torque point tracking (MTPT) algorithm that automatically finds the optimum stator d - q axis electric current reference through the entire speed region is devised; consequently, it could establish a 3D look-up table with torque characteristics according to current and speed. In case of using the devised auto MTPT algorithm, the result value detailed was obtained in comparison with the generalized look-up design technique, and checked to reduce the current look-up table establishment time.

  • The interest of New Renewable Energy is increasing globally because of the increment of the uncertainty for the energy's supply and demand, and the increment of the frequency in weather anomaly and its damages. One of the New Renewable Energies, Hydrogen receives attention as the future energy that can deal with global environment regulation. Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) is an environment-friendly vehicle that uses Hydrogen as fuel. The electric power for FCEV is generated by chemical reaction with Oxygen from the air and Hydrogen. Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) has developed a proprietary fuel cell system since 2005. In 2012, HMC is the first car maker that mass-produces the ix35 FCEV to the worldwide such as North America, Europe, etc. In order to develop and improve the FCEV technology, data acquisition and analysis of the driving vehicle information is essential. Therefore, the monitoring system is developed, which is consist of datalogger, Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) server and main server. Especially, WCDMA technology is integrated into the system which enables the data analysis without any restriction of time and region. The main function of the system is the analysis of the driving pattern and the component durability, and the safety monitoring. As a result, ix35 FCEV has successfully developed by using the developed monitoring system. The system is going to take an advantage of development in the future FCEV technology.

  • This paper presents the optimal design method of an induction motor for electric vehicle which minimizes the weight of motor and satisfies maximum power rating at the same time. Effects of motor parameters on the dimensions and weight of motor is investigated. Optimal routine which is used in this paper is simulated annealing technique.

  • FFV(Flexible Fuel Vehicle) is the vehicle that can be used liberally from gasoline to E100(Ethanol 100%) for fuel. Recently, interest in the bio-fuel is increased by the environmental factors like exhaustion of the fossil fuel and ruduction of greenhouse gases. For the reason, adopting of FFV is activated in the world including North and South America. In general, bio-ethanol has highly corrosive substance in compare with gasoline. In the part of fuel system, corrosion can make a safety problem in case of fuel leakage and engine starting problem. So the fuel system of FFV have to be made of high corrosion-resistant materials. This study examined the effect of bio-ethanol on the durability properties according to component materials in FFV fuel pump motor and regulator using the High Temperature Fuel Circulation Test.

  • In this study, among in various scenarios of the duration degradation of the fuel cell, countermeasures for the cathode carbon carrier oxidation and the deactivation of catalyst by hydrogen / air interface formation have been studied. so the system was applied to the air cutoff valve. In terms of the component, the cold start performance, electrical stability, the airtight performance were mainly designed and their performance was confirmed. And in terms of the system, the air electrode flow is blocked off, so the oxygen concentration drops when system is powered off, As a result, By reducing unit cell voltage which affect the durability of the fuel cell reached up to 0.8V, the improved durability of the fuel cell was confirmed.

  • Since recent inverters are formed IGBT VVVF inverter its switching speed has been increased relative to the conventional inverters and the motor design based on the switching surge voltage at the inverter output is very important factor. Therefore, motor and inverter should be designed to have the optimal characteristics by considering the mutually limited conditions. On this research the design technology characteristics for inverter driving traction moor is compared to the products in Korea and the analysis is performed. Thus, it is intend to re-estimate the technology level and introduce the products by HHI, which is driving on Seoul subway line 6 since December, 2000.
