자동 흙-함수특성곡선 시험장치 구축 및 활용 (Construction and Application of an Automated Apparatus for Calculating the Soil-Water Characteristic Curve)

  • 새롭게 구축된 자동 흙-함수특성곡선 시험장치는 측정원리가 간단하고 연속적인 측정이 가능하며, 시험자에 의해 발생될 수 있는 오차를 최소화하여 보다 정확한 불포화토의 흙-함수특성곡선을 산정할 수 있다. 본 시험장치는 압력조절장치, 플로우셀, 물저장소, 공기방울트랩, 저울, 시료준비장치, 측정시스템 등으로 구성되어 있다. 공기의 압력은 0-300 kPa범위까지 적용할 수 있으며, 단기간내 시험을 완료할 수 있다. 본 시험장치에서는 건조과정과 습윤과정을 재현할 수 있으며, 측정 자동화 프로그램(SWRC)을 이용하여 건조과정과 습윤과정에 따른 시료내 함수비 변화를 실시간으로 확인할 수 있다. 본 시험기를 이용하여 상대밀도 75%인 주문진 표준사에 대한 건조 및 습윤과정의 체적함수비에 따른 모관흡수력을 측정하였다. 측정결과, 건조 및 습윤과정을 거치는 동안 동일한 체적함수비에서 대한 모관흡수력 값이 다르게 나타나는 이력현상(hysteresis)이 발생하였다. 측정된 결과를 토대로 기존의 Brooks and Corey, van Genuchten 및 Fredlund and Xing 방법을 이용하여 흙-함수특성곡선을 예측하였다. 결정계수를 이용하여 이들 방법에 대한 정확성을 평가한 결과 대상토질조건의 경우 van Genuchten방법이 신뢰성이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다.

자성분말의 보자력 분포도 측정방법과 그 응용 (Meauring Method of Magnetic Particles' Coercivity Distribution and Its Applications)

  • 자성분말의 보자력$(H_{c})$과 보자력 분포도는 조성 이외의 제조공정인자에 크게 의존하는 값으로 자성분말 제조시 재현성을 결정하는 중요한 물성중의 하나이다. 자성분 말의 자기적 물성을 측정하는 VSM을 이용하여 쉽고 간단하게 보자력 분포도를 측정하는 방법과 그 응용예를 제시하였다. 보자력 분포도 측정은 magnetic hysteresis loop 의 dM/dH 대 H 곡선의 형태와 반치폭에서 얻을 수 있다. dM/dH 곡선 형태가 분리되는 것 없이 반치폭이 작아질수록 보자력 분포도는 더 균일해짐을 나타낸다. 보자력이 다 른 Ba-Ferrite와 ${\gamma}-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ 혼합물 중 Ba-Ferrite의 $H_{c}$가 높아질수록 dM/dH 대 H 곡선 형태는 peak broadening 후 peak splitting으로 나타나며, 이 peak splitting은 혼합자성분말의 $H_{c}$ 차이가 600 Oe 이상일 때 일어난다. 또한 dM/dH 대 H 곡선의 응용으로는 자성분말 보자력 분포도 측정, Ba-Ferrite 구조내로 dopants의 치환 능력 및 ${\alpha}-Fe$의 산화거동을 연구하는데 사용될 수 있다.

Determination of the Distribution of the Preisach Density Function With Optimization Algorithm

  • The Preisach model needs a distribution function or Everett function to simulate the hysteresis phenomena. To obtain these functions, many experimental data obtained from the first order transition curves are usually required. In this paper, a simple procedure to determine the Preisach density function using the Gaussian distribution function and genetic algorithm is proposed. The Preisach density function for the interaction field axis is known to have Gaussian distribution. To determine the density and distribution, genetic algorithm is adopted to decide the Gaussian parameters. With this method, just basic data like the initial magnetization curve or saturation curves are enough to get the agreeable density function. The results are compared with experimental data and we got good agreements comparing the simulation results with the experiment ones.

  • Carbon powders (CP) and carbon fiber (CF) were introduced info glass fiber reinforced plastics (FRP) composites to obtain fracture detection function. The composites were evaluated through the relation between a load-displacement curve and an electrical resistance change curve in three point bending test. CP containing FRP (CP-FRP) has a sensitivity of electrical resistance change at much lower load level than CF containing FRP (CF-FRP). In loading-unloading tests, CP-FRP showed a large amount of residual electrical resistance which enables the estimation of loading hysteresis.

  • The Preisach model neds a density function or Everett function for the hysterisis operator to simulate the hysteresis phenomena. To obtain the function, many experimental data for the first order transition curves are required. However, it needs so much efforts to measure the curves, especially for the hard magnetic materials. By the way, it is well known that the density function has the Gaussian distribution for the interaction axis on the Preisach plane. In this paper, we propose a simple technique to determine the distribution function or Everett function analytically. The initial magnetization curve is used for the distribution of the Everett function for the coercivity axis. A major, minor loop and the initial curve are used to get the Everett function for the interaction axis using the Gaussian distribution function and acceptable results were obtained.

  • To improvement the magnetic and frequency properties of YIG(Yttrium-Iron Garnet) in microwave region, it is investigated that the effect of $Al^{3+}$ ions on magnetic and frequency characteristics of YIG, using samples of basic YIG composition( $Y_{3}$F $e_{5}$ $O_{l2}$) added with A1$_{2}$ $O_{3}$ from 0 to 2.5 [mol%]. The measurment is conducted mainly for the structural properties and magnetical properties. The structural properties is measured using SEM(Scanning Electro Microscope), EDX(Energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer) and XRD(X-ray diffraction equipment). The magnetical properties is measured with B-H curve tracer and impedance analyzer. As a result, it is confin-ned that the effect of eddy current loss is minimized while maintaining high saturation flux density of YIG, when YIG is added with 0.5 [mol%] of A1$_{2}$ $O_{3}$.>.>.

316L 스테인리스강의 상온 반복 거동에 대한 수정 다층 모델의 적용성 검토 (Applicability Evaluation of Modified Overlay Model on the Cyclic Behavior of 316L Stainless Steel at Room Temperature)

  • The validity of 'modified overlay model' to describe the cyclic behavior of annealed 316L stainless steel at room temperature was investigated. Material parameters(~f$_{i}$, m$_{i}$b, η, E) fur the model were obtained through constant strain amplitude test. The strain amplitude dependency of elastic limit and cyclic hardening, which were the characteristics of this model, were considered. Eight subelements were used to describe the nonlinearity of the hysteresis loops. The calculated hysteresis curve in each condition (0.5%, 0.7%, 0.9% train amplitude test) was very close to the experimental one. Two tests, incremental step test and 5-step test, ere performed to check the validity of 'modified overlay model'. The elastic limit was saturated to the one of the highest strain amplitudes of the block in the incremental step test, so it seemed to be Masing material at the stabilized block. Cyclic hardening was successfully described in the increasing sequence of the strain amplitude in 5-step test. But, the slight cyclic softening followed by higher strain amplitude would not be able to simulate by'modified overlay model'. However, the discrepancy induced was very small between the calculated hystereses and the experimental ones. In conclusion,'Modified overlay model'was proved to be appropriate in strain range of 0.35%~ 1.0%..0%.

된장 현탁액의 리올로지적 성질 (Rheological Properties of Doen-Jang(Korea Fermented Soybean Paste) Suspensions)

  • 원료 성분조성이 다른 시판용 정맥 및 소맥된장의 두 종류 시료를 대상으로 하여 여러 농도의 물 현탁액 (50-200v/w%)을 조제하고 각 현탁액의 리올로지적 거동을 검토하였다. 각 시료 된장 현탁액은 모두 thixotropic 거동을 보였으며, 가수량이 125% 이하인 고농도 현탁액의 경우 전단상승곡선과 하강곡선이 교차하는 Figure-eight 현상을 나타내었다. 시료 모두 가열에 따라 겉보기 점도가 뚜렷한 증가 경향을 보였으며 단백질의 등전점 부근에서 겉보기 점도가 가장 높은점, 가수량 200%의 묽은 현탁액의 경우 $60^{\circ}C$이상으로 가열했을 때 Figure-eight 현상을 보이는 점 등을 종합하여 볼 때 점성거동은 단백질 존재상태와 밀접한 관련을 갖는 것으로 추정되었다.

E-I철심을 이용한 변압기형 초전도한류기의 권선 위치에 따른 전류제한 및 자화특성 분석 (Analysis on Current Limiting and Magnetizing Characteristics Due to Winding Locations of Superconducting Fault Current Limiter Using E-I Core)

  • This paper compared current limiting characteristics of superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) using E-I core due to the location of windings. Since E-I core has three legs and two magnetic paths, the current limiting characteristics of SFCL were expected to be affected by the installation location of windings, either center leg or right/left leg. To analyze its characteristics, the electrical equivalent circuit of the SFCL were derived and the electromagnetic analysis for the SFCL with the designed structure were performed. From the short-circuit tests, the hysteresis curve and the voltage-current trajectory of the SFCL due to the installation location of windings were extracted and compared each other. The SFCL with windings in the center leg of E-I core was shown to be larger magnetizing inductance compared to the one with windings in the right or left leg of E-I, which was analyzed from the hysteresis curve. In addition, larger decreased fault current right after the fault occurrence in the SFCL with windings in the center leg of E-I core was confirmed than the SFCL with windings in the right or left leg of E-I.

Finite Element Modeling and Nonlinear Analysis for Seismic Assessment of Off-Diagonal Steel Braced RC Frame

  • The geometric nonlinearity of off-diagonal bracing system (ODBS) could be a complementary system to covering and extending the nonlinearity of reinforced concrete material. Finite element modeling is performed for flexural frame, x-braced frame and the ODBS braced frame system at the initial phase. Then the different models are investigated along various analyses. According to the experimental results of flexural and x-braced frame, the verification is done. Analytical assessments are performed in according to three dimensional finite element modeling. Nonlinear static analysis is considered to obtain performance level and seismic behaviour, and then the response modification factors calculated from each model's pushover curve. In the next phase, the evaluation of cracks observed in the finite element models, especially for RC members of all three systems is performed. The finite element assessment is performed on engendered cracks in ODBS braced frame for various time steps. The nonlinear dynamic time history analysis accomplished in different stories models for three records of Elcentro, Naghan and Tabas earthquake accelerograms. Dynamic analysis is performed after scaling accelerogram on each type of flexural frame, x-braced frame and ODBS braced frame one by one. The base-point on RC frame is considered to investigate proportional displacement under each record. Hysteresis curves are assessed along continuing this study. The equivalent viscous damping for ODBS system is estimated in according to references. Results in each section show the ODBS system has an acceptable seismic behaviour and their conclusions have been converged when the ODBS system is utilized in reinforced concrete frame.
