This study was performed to improve many problems of leaching test of industrial waste sludge analysis. We analyze sludges by variation of leachant, pH and leaching time. The results were as follows: 1. As leaching at pH 5.8 by our leaching test without control of pH during leaching, the leaching rates were very low as below 1%. 2. As leaching at pH 5.8 continuously by hydrochloric acid every 2 hour, the leaching rates were higher than before 1. 3. As leaching at pH 5.0 continuously by acetic acid every 2 hour, the leaching rates were higher than 1, 2. 4. The variations of leaching rate by leaching time were smaller increase after 10 hours than before. 5. It will be recommendable that the pH of leachant maintain constantly during leaching as level of acid rain, and the acetic acid is more effective than hydrochloric acid as leachant.

Effect of ball milling treatment on the hydrochloric acid leaching performance of black dross was investigated to recover alumina. Ball milling time and speed showed limited effect on the leaching behavior of the alumina in the mechanically dross. Under the optimum mechanical activation condition (for 1h at 700 rpm), the leaching of alumina in hydrochloric acid solution was significantly affected by leaching time and reaction temperature. MgO was completely dissolved in most of the leaching conditions, while a small amount of Ca, Fe, Si and Ti oxides was dissolved. Although 80% of alumina was dissolved, the dissolved minor components such as Ca, Fe, Mg, Si and Ti oxides should be separated to recover pure alumina solution.

Leaching of CMSX-4 superalloy was done in hydrochloric acid solutions. The leaching behaviors of main alloy components, such as Ni, Co, Cr, Al, was investigated by controlling acid concentration, temperature, leaching time and pulp density. Increasing acid concentration enhanced the leaching rate till the rate decreased over 3 M acid concentration. Raising temperature increased the leaching amount of the metal components. After the leaching for 60 minutes at $90^{\circ}C$ and 10 g/L pulp density in 4 M acid solution, 93.2% nickel, 89.9% aluminum, 80.4% cobalt, and 79.1% chromium were leached. Nickel and aluminum were preferentially leached out, while the leaching rate of cobalt and chromium were relatively high only after 60 minutes, Increasing pulp density lowered the leaching rate and especially serious on cobalt and chromium, The optimum leaching condition for CMSX-4 was obtained at $90^{\circ}C$, 120 minutes, and less than 125 g/L in 4 M hydrochloric acid solution.

It was to investigate the optimum leaching conditions for the NaOH hot digestion and hydrochloric acid leaching of Monazite. The optimum condition for NaOH hot digestion was that the concentration of NaOH/TREO mole ratio was 15, the temperature of decomposition $140^{\circ}C$, and reaction time 2 hrs. And the optimum condition for the hydrochloric acid leaching of NaOH hot digestion product was that the concentration of hydrochloric acid was 6N, leaching time 2 hrs and pulp density about 15%. The yield of rare earth oxide was above 90% on the above experimental condition.
Phosphorus is an essential and irreplaceable element for all living organisms and its resource is limited. Significant amount of used phosphorus is collected in sewage treatment plant as sludge. Sludge ash after incineration contains about 10% of phosphorus in dry mass basis, which is comparable to phosphate rocks, and it is an important source of phosphorus recovery. Acid and alkali were used to leach phosphorus from sludge ash and compared for their leaching kinetics and performance. Phosphorus leaching by NaOH was fast and 0.2 N and 2 N NaOH leached 49% and 56% of the total phosphorus in the sludge ash at the L/S ratio of 100. Phosphorus leaching by sulphuric acid and hydrochloric were very fast and most of the phosphorus was leached in 5 minutes. In case of sulphuric acid 95% of the total phosphorus in the sludge ash was leached by 0.2 N at the L/S ratio of 100 and 93% was leached by 1 N at the L/S ratio of 10. 1 N hydrochloric acid leached 99% of the total phosphorus at the L/S ratio of 10. The results showed acids were more effective than alkali for phosphorus leaching from sludge ash and hydrochloric acid leached more phosphorus than sulphuric acid.
The hydrochloric acid leaching has been studied as a fundamental experiment on the recovery of arsenic from arsenic-bearing copper slime in copper electrorefining. The slime is mainly composed of $\beta-Cu_3As$ Which is intermetallic compound of CU and As. And the minor components are $CU_2O$ and CusAs in the slime. The optimum conditions of leaching of the slime were found to be as follows : 6N hydrochloric acid, particle size passed through 140 mesh, leaching for 150 min at $60^{\circ}C$, ratio of HCI/slime of 3 to 1 ; where 98 percent of arsenic were leached out of the As-bearing slime.

Molybdenum is widely used in many materials; thus, its recovery from ores and secondary resources has attracted considerable attention. In this study, the leaching of molybdenite ore using hydrochloric acid containing sodium chlorate as an oxidizing agent was studied. The effects of several variables, such as the concentrations of HCl and NaClO3, reaction temperature and time, and pulp density, on the leaching of the ore were investigated. Under strong acidic and oxidizing conditions, the sulfide in the ore was dissolved as a sulfate ion, which formed gypsum with Ca(II), leading to a decrease in the leaching percentage of Mo(VI) from the ore. The leaching percentage of molybdenum was greater than 90%, while those of iron, calcium, and silicon were 38, 29, and 67%, respectively, under the optimum conditions: 2.0 M HCl, 0.5 M NaClO3, pulp density of 5 g/L, temperature of 90 ℃, and treatment time of 60 min.

This study was conducted to improve the recycling process of waste fluorescent lamp, and investigate the possibility of using the waste fluorescent lamp glass as a raw material for glass beads, the leaching method of rare earth from the waste phosphor powder, and the possibility of solvent extraction of rare earth from the rare earth leaching solution. The waste phosphor contained 28.9% yttrium oxide, 3.46% cerium oxide, 1.95% europium oxide, 1.76% terbium oxide, and 1.43% lanthanum oxide. As a result of the trial production of glass beads using waste fluorescent lamp glass, it was judged that the production yield and quality were excellent, so that waste fluorescent lamp glass could be used as a raw material for glass beads. The soda roasted waste phosphor was leached in water and thereby the aqueous solution was blown with CO2 to drop the pH to about 7, Then, Al, Si and residual N2CO3 were dissolved, and NaAlCO3(OH)2 and SiO2 were precipitated in the aqueous solution. In the solvent extraction of cyanex272-hydrochloric acid, cyanex272-sulfuric acid, D2EHPA-hydrochloric acid, D2EHPA-sulfuric acid, Ionquest290-hydrochloric acid, Ionquest290-sulfuric acid, p507-hydrochloric acid using xylene as a diluent, the extraction yield of Y, Eu, Ce, La, and Tb are close to 100%. However, in this conditions, the difference in extraction yield for each element, that is, selectivity is 16% or less.

For the separation and purification of aluminium chloride hexahydrate crystals from kaolin leaching solution the effects of crystallization conditions, such as crystallization temperature, concentration of aluminium chloride concentration in the leaching solutin and gas flow rate of HCl into the leaching solution, on purity of the aluminium chloride hexahydrate crystals were investigated. The supersaturation level of aluminium chloride in the leaching solution gave great influence on the purity of the crystals. When supersaturated concentration of the aluminium chloride in the leaching solution was generated in low level, the aluminium chloride hexahydrate crystals were produced with high purity ; that is, the crystals hving a low Fe-ion concentration. The supersaturation level of aluminium chloride in the leaching solution was mainly determined by crystallization temperature, concentrations of aluminium chloride and hydrochloric acid in the solution. However, in spite of changes of the above crystallization coditions, a needle shape morphology of aluminium chloride hexahydrate crystals did not modified. To measure hydrochloric acid concentration in the kaolin leaching solution, we applied the oxalate titration method, which was suggested by shank [9] and it was prove that this method could titrate hydrochloroic acid concentration in multi-component ionic solution such as kaolin leaching solution.
In this paper, we carried out separation of membrane and leaching of Pt and Ru using hydrochloric acid from MEA(membrane-electrode assembly) of fuel cell. In this method, these were separated from MEA of fuel cell using the distilled water, 10 vol.% butanol solution and 15 vol.% cationic surfactant(Koremul-LN-7) by dipping method without the dispersion of catalyst particles. And the leaching of Pt and Ru containing in the separated carbon paper catalysts has been studied by hydrochloric acid using $HNO_3$ or $H_2O_2$ as a oxidant. The leaching ratio of Pt and Ru were higher when $H_2O_2$ was used as a oxidant and the optimum conditions were obtained in 8M HCl, the amount of $H_2O_2$ 5M and 6 hours of leaching time at $90^{\circ}C$. In this condition, extraction of Pt and Ru were 98% and 71.5%, respectively.
