Assessments of RELAP5/MOD3.2 and RELAP5/CANDU in a Reactor Inlet Header Break Experiment B9401 of RD-14M

  • A reactor inlet header break experiment, B9401, performed in the RD-14M multi channel test facility was analyzed using RELAP5/MOD3.2 and RELAP5/CANDU[1]. The RELAP5 has been developed for the use in the analysis of the transient behavior of the pressurized water reactor. A recent study showed that the RELAP5 could be feasible even for the simulation of the thermal hydraulic behavior of CANDU reactors. However, some deficiencies in the prediction of fuel sheath temperature and transient behavior in athe headers were identified in the RELAP5 assessments. The RELAP5/CANDU has been developing to resolve the deficiencies in the RELAP5 and to improve the predictability of the thermal-hydraulic behaviors of the CANDU reactors. In the RELAP5/CANDU, critical heat flux model, horizontal flow regime map, heat transfer model in horizontal channel, etc. were modified or added to the RELAP5/MOD3.2. This study aims to identify the applicability of both codes, in particular, in the multi-channel simulation of the CANDU reactors. The RELAP5/MOD3.2 and the RELAP5/CANDU analyses demonstrate the code's capability to predict reasonably the major phenomena occurred during the transient. The thermal-hydraulic behaviors of both codes are almost identical, however, the RELAP5/CANDU predicts better the heater sheath temperature than the RELAP5/MOD3.2. Pressure differences between headers govern the flow characteristics through the heated sections, particularly after the ECI. In determining header pressure, there are many uncertainties arisen from the complicated effects including steady state pressure distribution. Therefore, it would be concluded that further works are required to reduce these uncertainties, and consequently predict appropriately thermal-hydraulic behaviors in the reactor coolant system during LOCA analyses.

균열 암반의 복합거동해석을 위한 열-수리-역학적으로 연계된 파괴역학 수치해석코드 개발 (Development of Thermal-Hydraulic-Mechanical Coupled Numerical Analysis Code for Complex Behavior in Jointed Rock Mass Based on Fracture Mechanics)

  • 암반 내 균열 생성, 진전, 파괴 등과 같은 지하 암반의 역학적 거동과 이들 균열을 통한 지하수 유동 및 온도 변화에 기인한 열응력이 역학적 거동에 미치는 상호작용을 모델링하기 위한 수치해석코드를 개발하였다. 개발된 수치해석코드에서는 기존의 2차원 FRACOD(Shen & Stephasson, 1993)에 열-역학 및 수리-역학 상호 거동을 모델링하기 위한 해석모듈을 개발하여 추가하였다. 열-역학 연계를 위해서는 가상열원법과 시간전진기법을 도입하였으며, 수리-역학 연계에서는 양해법에 의한 반복기법을 적용하였다. 수치해석결과와 해석해와의 비교를 통해 개발된 해석모듈의 유용성을 검증하고 해석사례를 통해 온도변화에 따른 열균열 발생 및 수압파쇄과정에서의 균열 진전 양상과 같은 절리암반 복합거동을 잘 표현할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

확률론적 댐 침투거동 해석 (Stochastic Seepage Analysis of Dam)

  • 댐 안정성 평가를 위하여 불포화 이론을 이용한 침투해석 기법이 널리 사용되고 있으나 지반의 불포화 거동에 대한 인식 부족과 실험절차의 번거로움으로 인하여 입력 물성치에 대한 체계적인 실험과 평가가 일반화되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 지반의 불포화 수리특성은 변동성과 불확실성을 내포하고 있으며, 이는 침투수량 및 간극수압 분포 등 댐체 및 제방의 침투거동에 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 댐의 심벽재료에 대한 함수특성곡선과 투수계수를 구하는 실내실험을 수행하였다. 그리고, 불포화수리특성이 댐체의 침투 거동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 입력물성의 확률론적 분포를 고려한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과 Fredlund와 Xing 함수특성곡선식과 Campbell의 투수계 수식에서 변수 a와 n은 값이 클수록, n과 p는 값이 작을수록 정상상태에서의 침투수량이 많았다.

  • The hydraulic excavator has been a popular research object for automation because of its multi-workings and economic efficiency. The objective of this paper is to design each components and to construct boom, arm, bucket circuit. These models modeled with AMESim show us change of variables and behavior of excavator. Simulation model will be used for simulator of excavator.

  • Direct Instantaneous Pressure Control(DIPC) method of SRM using pressure predict method is presented in this paper. A hydraulic pump system has an inherent defect that its dynamic behavior causes by interaction between the sensor and hydraulic load. It will make sometimes the whole system become oscillatory and unstable. Proposed system integrates direct instantaneous torque control (DITC) and Smith predictor to improve dynamic performance and stabilization. The proposed hydraulic oil pump system is verified by computer simulation and experimental results.

압력변동에 따른 유압유의 유효체적탄성계수 측정에 대한 연구 (A Study on The Estimation of Effective Bulk Modulus of Hydraulic Oil With Pressure Variation)

  • It has been recognized that the compressibility of hydraulic fluid, which is characterized by the value of its bulk modulus, heavily affects on the system behavior and performance. In practice, the value of the oil bulk modulus varies by the operational and structural characteristics of the hydraulic system. This study presents the theoretical derivation of the effective bulk modulus and describes an experimental impulse technique that allows accurate measurement of oil effective bulk modulus with pressure variation in a hydraulic system. Experimental and analytical results show that the value of the effective bulk modulus varies a lot in low pressure region by the effect of entrained air, while the effective bulk modulus can be estimated just using the oil and container bulk modulus on the other high pressure region.

고속전자밸브를 사용한 유압장치의 PWM 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the PWM Control of Hydraulic Equipment Using High Speed On-Off Valve)

  • This study deals with a position control of an electro-hydraulic servo system which consist of cylinder and high speed on-off valves operated by microcomputer. The merits of PWM control of hydraulic equipment are the robustness of the high spee on-off valve, its low price and the direct control without D/A converter. In the PWM control of high speed on-off valve, the time lag and switching time existing between the input and output signals of valve are considered as demerit points. To get analytical results, the effects of these demerits have to be clarified in detail. The object of this study is to propose a mathematical model for the behavior of high speed on-off valve and to get analytical results of this system. The dynamic characteristics of this system is examined by digital computer simulation analytically and compared with experimental results to varify the proposed mathematical model.

  • In this study, the effect of the factors of a hydraulic modulator of ASMS was analysed. The modeling of ASMS was presented and the equation of ASMS was derived from the modeling. With this background, GUI analysis tool was developed. After the verification of the reasonability of simulation, the response of a hydraulic modulator is investigated through simulation of modeling. With this simulation, each behavior was predicted with changing the various parameters and determined the influenced factors to apply the designing process.

  • Recently, the hydraulic fill method is commonly used in many reclamation projects due to lack of fill materials. The method of hydraulic fill in reclamation is executed by transporting the mixture of water-soil particles into a reclaimed land through dredging pipes, then the dredged soil particles settle down in the water or flow over an out flow weir with the water. In the present study, to compare the soil and sand-mat mixed method with sand-air jet method for shallow improvement of hydraulic fills at southern seashore, the model tests were performed. Through the model test results, the behavior of surface as disturbance of desiccation crust is analyzed.

직접 외란 추정을 통한 역구동성 유압 구동 시스템의 임피던스 제어 (Impedance Control of Backdrivable Hydraulic Actuation Systems with Explicit Disturbance Estimation)

  • The backdrivable servovalve is a desirable component for force and interaction control of hydraulic actuation systems because it provides direct force generation mechanical impedance reduction by its own inherent backdrivability. However, high parametric uncertainty and friction effects inside the hydraulic actuation system significantly degrade its advantage. To solve this problem, this letter presents a disturbance-adaptive robust internal-loop compensator (DA-RIC) to generate ideal interactive control performance from the backdrivable-servovalve-based system. The proposed control combines a robust internal-loop compensator structure (RIC) with an explicit disturbance estimator designed for asymptotic disturbance tracking, such that the controlled system provide stable and ideal dynamic behavior for impedance control, while completely compensating the disturbance effects. With the aid of a backdrivable servovalve, we show that the proposed control structure can be implemented based on a simplified nominal model, and the controller enables implementation without accurate knowledge of the target system parameters and disturbances. The performance and properties of the proposed controller are verified by simulation and experiments.
