Hydraulic systems have severe nonlinearity inherently compared to other systems like electric control systems. Hence, precise modeling and analysis of the hydraulic control systems are not easy. In this study, the control performance of a hydraulic control system with a feedback linearization compensator and a disturbance observer was analyzed through experiments and numerical simulations. This study mainly focuses on the quantitative investigation of sensitivity on system uncertainties in the hydraulic control system. First, the sensitivity on the system uncertainty of the hydraulic control system with a Feedback Linearization - State Feedback Controller (FL-SFC) was quantitatively analyzed. In addition, the efficacy of a disturbance observer coupled with the FL-SFC for the hydraulic control system was verified in terms of overcoming the control performances deterioration owing to system uncertainty.
Hydraulic conductivity is a critical design parameter for buffers in high-level radioactive waste repositories. Most employed prediction models for hydraulic conductivity are limited to various types of bentonites, the main material of the buffer, and the associated temperature conditions. This study proposes the utilization of a novel integrated prediction model. The model is derived through theoretical and regression analyses and is applied to all types of compacted bentonites when the relationship between hydraulic conductivity and dry density for each compacted bentonite is known. The proposed model incorporates parameters such as permeability ratio, dynamic viscosity, and temperature coefficient to enable accurate prediction of hydraulic conductivity with temperature. Based on the results obtained, the values are in good agreement with the measured values for the selected bentonites, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed model. These results contribute to the analysis of the hydraulic behavior of the buffer with temperature during periods of high-level radioactive waste deposition.

A hexagonally arrayed 37-pin wire-wrapped rod bundle has been chosen to provide the experimental data of the pressure loss and flow rate in subchannels for validating subchannel analysis codes for the sodium-cooled fast reactor core thermal/hydraulic design. The iso-kinetic sampling method has been adopted to measure the flow rate at subchannels, and newly designed sampling probes which preserve the flow area of subchannels have been devised. Experimental tests have been performed at 20-115% of the nominal flow rate and $60^{\circ}C$ (equivalent to Re ~ 37,100) at the inlet of the test rig. The pressure loss data in three measured subchannels were almost identical regardless of the subchannel locations. The flow rate at each type of subchannel was identified and the flow split factors were evaluated from the measured data. The predicted correlations and the computational fluid dynamics results agreed reasonably with the experimental data.
Hydraulic coupling systems play an important role in easily connecting or disconnecting pipes or hoses that transmit high-pressure fluids without hydraulic oil leakage in hydraulic power transmission equipment. A flat-face hydraulic quick coupler is a recently developed product that can reduce environmental pollution by minimizing hydraulic oil leakage during connection and disconnection. In this study, the influence of the shape of the inner ring of a 3/8" flat-face hydraulic quick coupler on its internal flow characteristics was analyzed and evaluated by numerical analysis based on computational fluid dynamics. The flow velocity distribution, temperature distribution, and optimal shape design of the inner ring were obtained by comparing the results of the flow characteristics, such as the pressure drop.
This study deals with verifying the design feasibility, of an independently driving hydraulic system for disaster response purposes, through an analytical approach. The development target is a system in which four traveling motors are driven independently, and must be easy to operate even under conditions in which different loads are applied to the traveling motors. In order to be suitable for complex work, the hydraulic system was designed using the main control valve with a pressure compensation function. If we can develop an analytical model that reflects the specifications and functions of the parts through the analysis program, we can verify the validity of the design before we make the prototype. The purpose of this study therefore, is to verify the feasibility of designing an independent drive hydraulic system through the development of an analysis model from the viewpoint of complex work. The analysis program uses Simulation X.
The aim of this study was to develop and test a model of an auto-sensing hydraulic breaker that can automatically change its 4-step impact mode according to the rock strength using SimulationX. The auto-sensing hydraulic breaker with a 4-step variable impact mode has the advantage of obtaining optimal impact energy and impact frequency under various rock conditions compared to an auto-sensing hydraulic breaker with a 2-step variable impact mode, which has already been developed overseas. Several steps were necessary to conduct this study. First, the operation principle of the auto-sensing hydraulic breaker with the 2-step variable impact mode was analyzed. Based on the findings, an analysis model of the auto-sensing hydraulic breaker with the 4-step variable impact mode was developed (and compared with the 2-step variable impact mode) Finally, an analysis of the results established that the stepwise variable of the impact mode was implemented according to the rock strength and the difference of each impact mode was confirmed. This study is expected to contribute to the development of auto-sensing hydraulic breakers that are superior to those developed by advanced companies in foreign countries.
This paper describes the proceedings of creating countermeasures after analysis and maintenance be able to conduct operation safely in a power plant. in order to operate the power plant in a stable and reliable way, the best condition of the govemor system can be maintained through the response characteristic analysis of the control device for the pitch blade control hydraulic actuator. The fan pitch blade control hydraulic actuator of a 500MW large-scale boiler is frequently operated under normal operation conditions. Common problems or malfunctions of the pitch blade control hydraulic actuators leads to the decline of boiler thermal efficiency and unexpected power plant trip. The inlet and outlet gas can be controlled by using the fan pitch blade control hydraulic actuator in order to regulate the internal pressure of the furnace and control the frequency in the power plant facility which utilizes soft coals as a power source.

This study represents the newly advanced formulation of hydraulic fluids for extended drain interval and introduces the performance results of used oil samples from various excavators. The used oil samples, in this paper, show that there is a sharp change in viscosity drop and moderate additive depletion. For the extension of hydraulic fluid life. it is necessary to improve the stability of viscosity and oxidation. New target properties from the used oil analysis were proposed for extended life. Hydraulic oil with the viscosity index of 140 and improved thermal stability consists of group III base oil, showed the possibility of extension of fluid life.
The solenoid valve in ABS hydraulics, modulator is a two directional on-off valve and is controlled by around 100Hz high speed pulse width modulation. When the inlet valve is switched from open state to closed state, there are braking force degration, noise and vibration due to pressure surge phenomena in the hydraulic line and wheel cylinder. In this study, identifies pressure surge phenomenon in the braking process of a ABS, and investigates the way to reduce the phenomenon. For the purpose theoretical analysis on the pressure surge in the closed state hydraulic line, characteristic curve method based on wave equation was utilized. During this analysis, we could find pressure surge characteristics change due to hydraulic line change and PWM control conditions. In conclusion, by using the results of this study for the pressure surge prediction and reduction method, we could expect braking performance enhancement in Anti-Lock Braking System.
