  • MANET(Mobile Ad-Hoc Network) mean network that configured to mobile device without the help of Fixed infra. Node in MANET constraints have such as liquidity and battery. Node concentrated areas or the size of the network becomes large that causes some issues. It's the problem of routing overhead when path set, path navigation and reset path. In this paper ZRP(Zone Routing Protocol) and ZHLS(Zone-Based Hierarchical Link State) are analyzed. As a result, offers the Fixed ZRP.

Design of a Submerged Coastal Structure for Concentration of Wave Energy and Control of a Coastal Area (파랑에너지 집적 및 연안해역 제어를 위한 해저구조물의 설계)

  • The effects of wave energy focusing by a submerged berm type of structure is examined. The fundamental idea is based on the phenomenon of refraction by a lens-shaped crescent structure which results in the focusing of wave energy on the center line of the structure. The shape of the submerged structure is a complex curve combining circular with elliptical elements. Based on the design procedure, a special configuration of structure(termed herein as a triple crescent structure) is introduced. Next, some hydraulic model tests are performed to confirm the wave focusing effect in laboratory. In addition, in order to interpret the wave focusing performance behind the structure, a numerical procedure by the hybrid element method is used on the basis of the conventional mild slope equation but modified and extended to allow for steeper bottom slopes and higher curvature. The modified refraction and diffraction provide additional mechanism for wave height amplification and the maximum amplification for triple crescent structure is presented. It also allows for the possibility of wave energy scattering with the change of the incident wave direction. Comparisons with previous theoretical results involving a submerged crescent shape structure are described.

  • The satellite navigation system is widely used for identifying a user's position regardless of weather or geographic conditions and also make effect on new technology of marine LBS(Location Based Service), which has the technology of geographic information such as the ENC. Generally, there are conceivable systems of marine LBS such as ECDIS, or ECS that use the ENC itself with powerful processor in installed type on ships bridge. Since the ENC is relatively heavy structure with dummy format for data transfer between different systems, we should reduce the ENC to small and compact size in order to use it in mobile platform. In this paper, we assumed that the mobile system like PDA, or Webpad can be used for small capability of mobile platform. However, the ENC should be updated periodically by update profile data produced by HO. If we would reduce the ENC without a consideration of update, we could not get newly updated data furthermore. As summary, we studied considerations for ENC reduction with update capability. It will make the ENC be useful in many mobile platforms for various applications.

  • This paper considers the Marine Traffic Risk Assessment for fixed and moving targets, which threaten officers during a voyage. The Collision Risk Assessment Formula was calculated based on a dynamic ship domain considering the length, speed and maneuvering capability of a vessel. In particular, the Navigation Risk Assessment Model that is used to quantitatively index the effect of a ship's size, speed, etc. has been reviewed and improved using a hybrid combination of a vessel's dynamic area and the Collision Risk Assessment Formula. Accordingly, a new type of Marine Traffic Risk Assessment Model has been suggested giving consideration to the Speed Length Ratio, which was not sufficiently reflected in the existing Risk Assessment Model. The larger the Speed Length Ratio (dimensionless speed), the higher the CJ value. That is, the CJ value is presented well by the Speed Length Ratio. When the Speed Length Ratio is large, states ranging from [Caution], [Warning], [Dangerous] or [Very Dangerous] are presented from a greater distance than when the Speed Length Ratio is small. The results of this study, can be used for route and port development, including dangerous route avoidance, optimum route planning, breakwater width, bridge span, etc. as well as the development of costal navigation safety charts. This research is also applicable for the selection of optimum ship routing and the prevention of collisions for smart ships such as autonomous vessels.

A Study on Design and Implementation of Low Noise Amplifier for Satellite Digital Audio Broadcasting Receiver (위성 DAB 수신을 위한 저잡음 증폭기의 설계 및 구현에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a LNA(Low Noise Amplifier) has been developed, which is operating at L-band i.e., 1452∼1492 MHz for satellite DAB(Digital Audio Brcadcasting) receiver. The LNA is designed to improve input and output reflection coefficient and VSWR(Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) by balanced amplifier. The LNA consists of low noise amplification stage and gain amplification stage, which make a using of GaAs FET ATF-10136 and VNA-25 respectively, and is fabricated by hybrid method. To supply most suitable voltage and current, active bias circuit is designed Active biasing offers the advantage that variations in $V_P$ and $I_{DSS}$ will not necessitate a change in either the source or drain resistor value for a given bias condition. The active bias network automatically sets $V_{gs}$ for the desired drain voltage and drain current. The LNA is fabricated on FR-4 substrate with RF circuit and bias circuit, and integrated in aluminum housing. As a reults, the characteristics of the LNA implemented more than 32 dB in gain. 0.2 dB in gain flatness. lower than 0.95 dB in noise figure, 1.28 and 1.43 each input and output VSWR, and -13 dBm in $P_{1dB}$.

A Time Synchronization Scheme for Vision/IMU/OBD by GPS (GPS를 활용한 Vision/IMU/OBD 시각동기화 기법)

  • Recently, hybrid positioning system combining GPS, vision sensor, and inertial sensor has drawn many attentions to estimate accurate vehicle positions. Since accurate multi-sensor fusion requires efficient time synchronization, this paper proposes an efficient method to obtain time synchronized measurements of vision sensor, inertial sensor, and OBD device based on GPS time information. In the proposed method, the time and position information is obtained by the GPS receiver, the attitude information is obtained by the inertial sensor, and the speed information is obtained by the OBD device. The obtained time, position, speed, and attitude information is converted to the color information. The color information is inserted to several corner pixels of the corresponding image frame. An experiment was performed with real measurements to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed method.

Development and Usability Testing of a User-Centered 3D Virtual Liver Surgery Planning System

  • Objective: The present study developed a user-centered 3D virtual liver surgery planning (VLSP) system called Dr. Liver to provide preoperative information for safe and rational surgery. Background: Preoperative 3D VLSP is needed for patients' safety in liver surgery. Existing systems either do not provide functions specialized for liver surgery planning or do not provide functions for cross-check of the accuracy of analysis results. Method: Use scenarios of Dr. Liver were developed through literature review, benchmarking, and interviews with surgeons. User interfaces of Dr. Liver with various user-friendly features (e.g., context-sensitive hotkey menu and 3D view navigation box) was designed. Novel image processing algorithms (e.g., hybrid semi-automatic algorithm for liver extraction and customized region growing algorithm for vessel extraction) were developed for accurate and efficient liver surgery planning. Usability problems of a preliminary version of Dr. Liver were identified by surgeons and system developers and then design changes were made to resolve the identified usability problems. Results: A usability testing showed that the revised version of Dr. Liver achieved a high level of satisfaction ($6.1{\pm}0.8$ out of 7) and an acceptable time efficiency ($26.7{\pm}0.9 min$) in liver surgery planning. Conclusion: Involvement of usability testing in system development process from the beginning is useful to identify potential usability problems to improve for shortening system development period and cost. Application: The development and evaluation process of Dr. Liver in this study can be referred in designing a user-centered system.

Performance Analysis of Assisted-Galileo Signal Acquisition Under Weak Signal Environment (약 신호 환경에서의 Assisted-Galileo 신호 획득 성능 분석)

  • EU's Galileo project is a market-based GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) that is under development. It is expected that Galileo will provide the positioning services based on new technologies in 2020s. Because Galileo E1 signal for OS (Open Service) shares the same center frequency with GPS L1 C/A signal, CBOC (Composite Binary Offset Carrier) modulation scheme is used in the E1 signal to guarantee interoperability between two systems. With E1 signal consisting of a data channel and a pilot channel at the same frequency band, there exist several options in designing signal acquisition for Assisted-Galileo receivers. Furthermore, compared to SNR worksheet of Assisted-GPS, some factors should be examined in Assisted-Galileo due to different correlation profile and code length of E1 signal. This paper presents SNR worksheets of Galileo E1 signals in E1-B and E1-C channel. Three implementation losses that are quite different from GPS are mainly analyzed in establishing SNR worksheets. In the worksheet, hybrid long integration of 1.5s is considered to acquire weak signal less than -150dBm. Simulation results show that the final SNR of E1-B signal with -150dBm is 19.4dB and that of E1-C signal is 25.2dB. Comparison of relative computation shows that E1-B channel is more profitable to acquire the strongest signal in weak signal environment. With information from the first satellite signal acquisition, fast acquisition of the weak signal around -155dBm can be performed with E1-C signal in the subsequent satellites.

Conceptual Study on Coaxial Rotorcraft UAV for teaming operation with UGV (무인지상차량과의 합동운용을 위한 동축반전 회전익형 무인항공기 개념연구)

  • UAV-UGV teaming concept has been proposed that can compensate for weak points of each platform by providing carrying, launching, recovery and recharging capability for the VTOL-UAV through the host UGV. The teaming concept can expand the observation envelop of the UGV and extend the operational capability of the UAV through mechanical combination of each system. The spherical-shaped coaxial rotorcraft UAV is suggested to provide flexible and precise interface between two systems. Hybrid navigation solution that included vision-based target tracking method for precision landing is investigated and its experimental study is performed. Feasibility study on length-variable rotor to provide the compact configuration of the loaded rotorcraft platform is also described.

Design of an Anti-Jamming Five-Element Planar GPS Array Antenna (재밍대응 5소자 평면 GPS 배열 안테나 설계)

  • This paper describes the design and analysis of five-element planar array antenna of an anti-jamming satellite navigation system. We propose a design of multi-layer patch antenna for Global Positioning System(GPS) $L_1/L_2$ dual bands. The proposed antenna has two ports feeding network with a hybrid chip coupler for a broad bandwidth with Right-Handed Circular Polarization(RHCP). The measurement results show the bore-sight gains of 1.10 dBic($L_1$) and 0.37 dBic($L_2$) for the center element. The bore-sight gains of an edge element are 0.99 dBic($L_1$) and -0.57 dBic($L_2$). At a fixed elevation angle of $30^{\circ}$, antennas show average gains of -2.08 dBic ($L_1$) and -5.33 dBic($L_2$) for the center element, and average gains of -0.40 dBic($L_1$) and -2.09 dBic($L_2$) for the edge elements. The results demonstrate that the proposed array antenna is suitable for anti-jamming applications.
