The TANDEM project is a European initiative funded under the EURATOM program. The project started on September 2022 and has a duration of 36 months. TANDEM stands for Small Modular ReacTor for a European sAfe aNd Decarbonized Energy Mix. Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) can be hybridized with other energy sources, storage systems and energy conversion applications to provide electricity, heat and hydrogen. Hybrid energy systems have the potential to strongly contribute to the energy decarbonization targeting carbon-neutrality in Europe by 2050. However, the integration of nuclear reactors, particularly SMRs, in hybrid energy systems, is a new R&D topic to be investigated. In this context, the TANDEM project aims to develop assessments and tools to facilitate the safe and efficient integration of SMRs into low-carbon hybrid energy systems. An open-source "TANDEM" model library of hybrid system components will be developed in Modelica language which, by coupling, will extend the capabilities of existing tools implemented in the project. The project proposes to specifically address the safety issues of SMRs related to their integration into hybrid energy systems, involving specific interactions between SMRs and the rest of the hybrid systems; new initiating events may have to be considered in the safety approach. TANDEM will study two hybrid systems covering the main trends of the European energy policy and market evolution at 2035's horizon: a district heating network and power supply in a large urban area, and an energy hub serving energy conversion systems, including hydrogen production; the energy hub is inspired from a harbor-like infrastructure. TANDEM will provide assessments on SMR safety, hybrid system operationality and techno-economics. Societal considerations will also be encased by analyzing European citizen engagement in SMR technology safety.
In this research, optimum design of the combined solar collector, geothermal heat pump and thermal seasonal storage system for heating and cooling a sample greenhouse is studied. In order to optimize the system from technical point of view some new control strategies and functions resulting from important TRNSYS output diagrams are presented. Temperatures of ground, rock bed storage, outlet ground heat exchanger fluid and entering fluid to the evaporator specify our strategies. Optimal heat storage is done with maximum efficiency and minimum loss. Mean seasonal heating and cooling COPs of 4.92 and 7.14 are achieved in series mode as there is no need to start the heat pump sometimes. Furthermore, optimal parallel operation of the storage and the heat pump is studied by applying the same control strategies. Although the aforementioned system has higher mean seasonal heating and cooling COPs (4.96 and 7.18 respectively) and lower initial cost, it requires higher amounts of auxiliary energy either. Soil temperature around ground heat exchanger will also increase up to $1.5^{\circ}C$ after 2 years of operation as a result of seasonal storage. At the end, the optimum combined system is chosen by trade-off between technical and economic issues.

Currently, geothermal heat pump systems are being installed in new official and commercial building, welfare facilities, and school but there are a few cases for the housing heat sink in Korea. The reason is that there are no progressive taxes for the household electrical use, no actual output for the application of geothermal technology, high initial investment. For the overall use in multi family apartment such as the Green Home etc, technology development and building of the relevant research team need to be done through preliminary study. Core subjects for overall use include cooling heating load estimation for the multi family apartment, economical efficiency of the geothermal cooling and heating system, design and construction technology of the geothermal cooling and heating system for the multi family apartment, commercialization plan, and state of the art analysis. Selection of the detailed subjects with respect to core subject, driving schedule and commercialization plan, driving system, presentation of the utilization plan.

Effect of heating rate on microstructure of brazed joints with STS 304 Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger (PCHE),which was manufactured as large-scale($1170(L){\times}520(W)){\times}100(T)$, mm), have been studied to compare bonding phenomenon. The specimens using MBF 20 was bonded at $1080^{\circ}C$ for 1hr with $0.38^{\circ}C/min$ and $20^{\circ}C/min$ heating rate, respectively. In case of a heating rate of $20^{\circ}C/min$, overflow of filler metal was observed at the edge of a brazed joints showing the height of filler metal was decreased from $100{\mu}m$ to $68{\mu}m$. At the center of the joints, CrB and high Ni contents of ${\gamma}$-Ni was existed. For the joints brazed at a heating rate of $0.38^{\circ}C/min$, the height of filler was decreased from $100{\mu}m$ to $86{\mu}m$ showing the overflow of filler was not appeared. At the center of the joints, only ${\gamma}$-Ni was detected gradating the Ni contents from center. This phenomenon was driven from a diffusion amount of Boron in filler metal. With a fast heating rate $20^{\circ}C/min$, diffusion amount of B was so small that liquid state of filler metal and base metal were reacted. But, for a slow heating rate $0.38^{\circ}C/min$, solid state of filler metal due to low diffusion amount of B reacted with base metal as a solid diffusion bonding.

Hybrid desiccant cooling system(HDCS) consists of desiccant rotor, regenerative evaporative cooler, heat pump and district heating hot water coil. In this study, TRNSYS and EES, dynamic and steady simulation programs were used for studying hybrid desiccant cooling system which is applied to an apartment house from June to August. The results show that power consumption of the hybrid desiccant cooling system is 70 kWh in June, 199 kWh in July and 241 kWh in August. Sensible and latent heats removed by the hybrid desiccant cooling system are 300 kWh, 301 kWh in June, 610 kWh, 858 kWh in July and 719 kWh, 1010 kWh in August. COP of the hybrid desiccant cooling system is 8.6 in June, 7.4 in July and 7.2 in August. COP of the hybrid desiccant cooling system decreases when latent heat load increases. Operation time of the system is 70 hours in June, 190 hours in July and 229 hours in August. Since the cooling load is largest in August, the operation time of August is longest for maintaining the indoor temperature at $26^{\circ}C$. Due to the characteristics of hybrid desiccant cooling system for efficiently handling both sensible and latent loads, this system can handle sensible and latent heat loads efficiently in summer.

In this study, the one-component curable polyurethane resin was manufactured using blocked isocyanate and hybrid technology. To prepare the one-component curable hybrid polyurethane, silica hybrids including hydroxyl group was synthesized, and the size, shape and distribution of hybrid particle in polyurethane resin were confirmed. Then the dissociation property, mechanical property and molding property of blocked isocyanate were investigated. The dissociation property of blocked isocyanate in one-component curable polyurethane became better as the heating temperature and treatment time increased. The synthesized silica hybrid had spherical appearance and size of 23~27 nm in diameter, and it was observed that the hybrid particles were homogeneously distributed in polyurethane structure. In the case of hybrid polyurethane, the mechanical property, anti-abrasion and thermal property were higher than those of general polyurethane, and it was observed that the mechanical property was maintained when the plasticizer was introduced.
In this study, the performance of hybrid solar air-water heater when the heated air was used as inlet air was investigated during air and liquid were heated simultaneously. Temperature difference between inlet air and ambient was set as $0^{\circ}C$, $13^{\circ}C$ and $22^{\circ}C$ and it was maintained during the daily operation. As a result, thermal efficiency of liquid heating was increased when the inlet air temperature was increased and heat gain of the water in heat storage tank was also increased with increment of temperature difference between inlet air and ambient temperature. On the contrary to this, the decrement of air heating efficiency and total efficiency of collector was confirmed with increment of inlet air temperature and it is considered that heat gain of liquid side is lower than heat loss of air side that occurring by using heated air as inlet air of collector. So, from these results, maximum temperature that the liquid in heat storage tank can reach was expected to increase if the return air or any heated air was used as inlet air. But air and total efficiency of hybrid solar air-water is decreased, so using outdoor air as inlet air is considered as better way on perspective of using of solar thermal energy by hybrid solar collector. However, it is hard to conclude that using outdoor air is better than heated air on the perspective of energy saving of building because the performance of heat storage performance was increased even air and total thermal efficiency was decreased, so the necessity of more profound consideration about these result in further research was confirmed for putting the hybrid solar air-water heater to practical use.
Interests on renewable energy are increased due to oil price and environmental problems aroused from the fossil energy usage. In this study, performances of a solar assisted hybrid heat pump system are analyzed by experimental method. The developed system could runs at two types of operating mode. When the storage temperature is higher than the set temperature, the stored hot water in storage tank is supplied to the load directly. On the other hand, when the storage temperature lower than the set temperature, the water inside of the storage tank is used as heat source of the heat pump. In this study, the system control temperature for the alternation of the operating mode is set to $40^{\circ}C$ of the storage tank outlet. As results, it is founded that the COP of the developed heat pump system shows between 3.0 and 3.5. It is resonable performance for the heating system with a renewable energy as secondary heat source. The solar collect used in this study could supplies heat to the storage tank at over 400 W/m2 solar intensity. If the irradiation is lower than the 400 W/m2, the circulation pump stored and it could not supply heat to the storage tank. It is found that the difference temperature between the outlet of the storage tank and collector is $3^{\circ}C$. Even though, the extended study should be conducted to get a optimum performance of the developed system with various operating condition and control strategies.
A series of proton conductive inorganic-organic hybrid membranes doped with phosphoric acid ($H_3PO_4$) and/or triethylphosphate (PO(OEt)$_3$) have been prepared by sol-gel process with 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS), 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) as precursors. High proton conductivity of 3.0 ${\times}$$10^{-3}$ S/cm with composition of 50TEOS-30GPTMS-20APTES-50$H_3PO_4$ was obtained at 120 ${^{\circ}C}$ under 50% relative humidity. Thermal stability of membrane was significantly enhanced by the presence of SiO$_2$ framework up to 250 ${^{\circ}C}$. XRD revealed that the gels are amorphous. IR spectra showed a good complexation of $H_3PO_4$ in the matrix. The conductivity under 75% relative humidity was significantly improved by addition of APTES due to the increase in concentration of defected site in hybrid matrix. The effect of PO(OEt)$_3$, humidifying time, and heat-treatment were also investigated. PO(OEt)$_3$ had no improvement on conductivity and conductivity increased with humidifying time, however, decreased with heating temperature.
A total of 34 species belonging to 21 genera of fungi were recorded on passion fruits of both pure and hybrid origin in Uganda, however, the pure type exhibited wider spectrum (28 species and 16 genera) than the hybrid type (21 & 15). Also, yeasts (unidentified and Rhodotorula mucilaginosa) were also encountered in high numbers. Moreover, the mean count of all mycobiota obtained from the pure type was higher than that of hybrid, despite the bigger size of the later. Members of yeasts and Cladosporium followed by Phoma, Penicillium, Fusarium and Alternaria species dominated on passion fruits of pure origin, while only C. cladosporioides, F. solani and yeasts dominated on the hybrid type. Treatment with Na-hypochlorite exhibited inhibitory effects on the total mycobiotic propagules as well as the dominant species from fruits of both types. The current results, therefore, suggest the use of Na-hypochlorite to control the post-harvest mycobiota associated with passion fruits. Regarding the mycobiota contaminating passion juice, yeasts were found to be the major contaminants with Candida parapsilosis being the most common. Moulds constituted only a minor proportion with Acremonium strictum followed by Fusarium chlamydosporum, F. moniliforme, F. acuminatum and F. solani as the most dominant species. In the heat-treated juice samples, the counts of the most commonly encountered mycobiota (both yeasts and molds) were significantly inhibited or completely eliminated. Some unidentified Bacillus species were also recovered from the juice, however, their counts in the heated samples were increased but insignificantly.
