Because of environmental crisis, researchers are seeking and developing a new, clean, safe and renewable energy. Solar cell energy and fuel cell energy have inestimable development potential. The paper introduces hybrid photovoltaic-fuel cell generation systems supplying a remote power load and hybrid system of solar cell and fuel cell considering the advantages of stable and sustainable energy from the economic point of view. Fuel cell power system has been proven a viable technology to back up severe PV power fluctuations under inclement weather conditions. Fuel cell power generation, containing small land us, is able to alleviate the heavy burden for large surface requirement of PV power plants. In addition, the PV-fuel cell hybrid power system shows a very little potential for lifetime $CO_2$ emissions. In this paper shows the I-V characteristics of the solar module which are dependent on the power of the halogen lamp and the I-V characteristics of fuel cells which are connected in parallel. Also, it shows efficiency of the hybrid system.

This paper presents the improved zero power levitation control algorithm for a quadruple hybrid EMS (Electromagnetic Suspension) system. Quadruple hybrid EMS system is a united form of four hybrid EMS systems one on each corner coupled with a metal plate. Technical issue in controlling a quadruple hybrid EMS system is the permanent magnet's equilibrium point deviation caused by design tolerance which eventually leads to a limited zero power levitation control that only satisfies the zero power levitation in one or two hybrid EMS system among the four hybrid EMS system. In order to satisfy a complete zero power levitation control of the quadruple hybrid EMS system, the proposed method presented in this paper adds a compensating algorithm which adjusts the gap reference of each individual axe. Later, this paper proves the stability and effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm via experiment and disturbance test.
In this paper, a hybrid maximum power tracker for a photovoltaic/wind hybrid power system is proposed. In the hybrid system, a direct interfacing the wind power system to the photovoltaic system gives the problems of voltage fluctuations, poor maximum power tracking, and harmonics generation associated with the random wind speed, the random solar irradiation and the pulsating torque came from the wind turbine synchronous generator and photovoltaic. To overcome these problems, a wind side DC/DC converter are proposed employing a star/delta transformer interconnected between the wind turbine side and the photovoltaic side. The control objective for each dc/dc converter is to extract maximum power from each different photovoltaic system and wind system, and transfer two different powers to the inverter and load.
This paper proposes a high efficiency power conversion system for battery-ultracapacitor hybrid energy storages. The proposed system has only one bidirectional dc-dc converter for hybrid power source with batteries and ultracapacitors. The hybrid power source has bidirectional switching circuits for selecting one energy storage device. Bidirectional power flow between the energy storage device and high voltage capacitor can be controlled by one bidirectional converter. An asymmetrical switching method is applied to the bidirectional converter for high power efficiency. Switching power losses are reduced by zero-voltage switching of power switches. System operation and design considerations are presented. The experimental results are provided to verify the performance of the proposed system.
Purpose: In this study, a hybrid power system was developed for agricultural machines with a 20-KW output capacity, and it was attached to a multi-purpose cultivator to improve the performance of the cultivator, which was evaluated using output tests. Methods: The hybrid system combined heterogeneous sources: an internal-combustion engine and an electric power motor. In addition, a power splitter was developed to simplify the power transmission structure. The cultivator using the hybrid system was designed to have increased fuel efficiency and output power and reduced exhaust gas emissions, while maintaining the functions of existing cultivators. Results: The fuel consumption for driving the cultivator in the hybrid engine vehicle (HEV) mode was 341 g/KWh, which was 36% less than the consumption in the engine (ENG) mode for the same load. The maximum power take off output of the hybrid power system was 12.7 KW, which was 38% more than the output of the internal-combustion engine. In the HEV mode, harmful exhaust gas emissions were reduced; i.e., CO emissions were reduced by 36~41% and NOx emissions were reduced by 27~51% compared to the corresponding emissions in the ENG mode. Conclusions: The hybrid power system improved the fuel efficiency and reduced exhaust gas emissions in agricultural machinery. Lower exhaust gas emissions of the hybrid system have considerable advantages in closed work environments such as crop production facilities; therefore, agricultural machinery with less exhaust gas emissions should be commercialized. However, the high manufacturing cost and complexity of the proposed system are challenges which need to be solved in the future.
Diesel fuel is expensive because transportation to remote areas adds extra cost, and it causes air pollution by engine exhaust. Providing a feasible economical and environmental solution to diesel generators is important. A hybrid system of renewable plants and diesel generators can benefit islands or other isolated communities and increase fuel savings. Renewable energy is, however, a natural source that produces a fluctuating power output. In this paper, hybrid power system of the marado lighthouse is proposed to supply stable power in the stand-alone hybrid power system. The proposed hybrid power system consists of the diesel generator, wind turbine, photovoltaic, fuel cell, and battery bank. To decrease the carbon emissions and find the optimization, the cost analysis of hybrid system is simulated using HOMER program and the optimized hybrid power system is designed.
The fault current has increased due to the large power demand in power distribution system and network distribution system. To protect the power system effectively from the increased fault current, the superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) has been notified. However, the conventional SFCL has some problems such as cost, operation, recovery, loss. To solve some problems, the hybrid superconducting fault current limiter using the fast switch was proposed. However, hybrid SFCL also has a problem that is protection coordination in power distribution system with hybrid SFCL. In this paper, the fault current limiting characteristics of hybrid SFCL with first half cycle non-limiting operation according to the fault angle, the resistance of superconducting element, and the magnitude of Current Limit Resistor (CLR) which are the components of hybrid SFCL were analyzed through the experiments.

In this paper, we propose to study the possibility of using a photovoltaic system combined with a high speed micro-turbine. This hybrid system can work as stand-alone system or grid connected system as it will be a part of a micro-grid. Initially, we propose Matlab/Simulink dynamic models of photovoltaic, micro turbine systems and supercapacitor. Then, we carry out a simulation comparison of the two systems, this is, with supercapacitor and without supercapacitor bank. We show that supercapacitor bank as short-term storage device was necessary to reduce the fast fluctuation of power in the case of sensitive loads. It is verified the simulation results of Matlab/Simulink based hybrid power system represent the effectiveness of the suggested hybrid power system.
