The purpose of this study is to survey various digital library models that form basic concept of the hybrid information services and to suggest the needs of hybrid information services in digital environments as previous stage towards a building of generic information model appropriate to hybrid information environments. This study deals with the change of information service environments and information services of traditional and digital environments, Also addressed are relationships between digital library and information services. Finally. this study suggest the needs of hybrid information services in digital environments and survey various digital library models that form basic concept of the digital library models.

A hybrid information service may include local and/or remote distributed services, both and electronic. Also, a hybrid information service can be described as one which an appropriate range of heterogeneous information services is presented to the user in a consistent and integrated way via a single interface. The purpose of this study is to suggest high-level requirements and logical architecture to design hybrid library. High-level requirements analysis for hybrid library need to contain baseline requirements, basic system requirements, searching, location, requesting, delivery and payment. A logical architecture need to consider logical architecture for hybrid library management system including user access points, hybrid library management system and hybrid library components and 5 layered architecture including presenter, coordinator, mediator, communicator and provider to achieve local simplicity while still supporting complex functionality of hybrid library.

Th term "hybrid library" refers to the collection of material in print, electronic and other media library hold and give access to. The library could get infinite possibilities of the space, if people had recognized that the library was not only the space for the reading and collecting of the books but also a special space for accomplishment of the investigation, learning, communication, and culture. Also, it can be desirable way for implementing the hybrid library. It means that combine with the traditional library which is the most important thing is a real space and the digital library, in contrast, the which is that the most important thing is the cyberspace. The purpose of this study is to develop a practical model for hybrid library based on the concept of information commons which is cooperation of the space, information technology and information services. This study intends to figure out the core elements involved in operative aspect of hybrid library through comparative analysis of domestic and foreign cases applied Information commons concepts to the library.

Today we are preparing to accept the ubiquitous library age. This article will serve to define the concepts of the hybrid library, the gateway library and the ubiquitous library which hold the advanced concepts of the digital library. It will review the main projects about them in order to portray what the future libraries will be like and how they can be developed. In particular, the eLib program of the hybrid library, the gateway projects by Harvard University and Penn State University, and the ubiquitous library projects in Carnegie Melon University and Maryland University will be surveyed, through which the characteristics of the information services being operated by the ubiquitous libraries will be scanned.

It's getting popularized to collect information connecting web sites with massive information through the internet and advanced search engines. Users can handle digital materials like E-book wherever the internet is available and they will demand digital information increasingly. This study analyzes literature investigation, statistics analyses of the attached library of Kyushu University, drawings and field investigation to suggest a new model of a library which handles traditional paper-formed materials and digital-formed materials at one place with growing importance of digital materials. It results that a library performs a important role like a learning space and functions as a sociocultural communication space. Also it shows that it is required to basically reinvestigate the role of 'space' in the library with a great importance of digital materials. In the hybrid library combined with subjects and reorganized at one place, One-stop services like library materials and manpower can be provided for users staying at the same area.

Due to the advent of knowledge-based society and digital environment, libraries especially national libraries are undergoing a transformation and the new concepts, processes and tools for collection development as the heart of libraries are evolving. The purpose of this paper is to propose the direction of hybrid resources development for ensuring sustainable collection and preservation of resources in national libraries. Accordingly, this paper looks about a transformation of national libraries and collection development, and investigates the coverage of national collections based positioning of national libraries through performance indicators in standard, definitions, purposes and missions. It also proposes legal deposit methods of digital resources through the law related library and investigates archiving method of online digital resources including hybrid collection development system in national libraries.

This study was to suggest the creation of hybrid bibliographic records in complicated bibliographic environment applying both AACR2 and RDA for uniform display and correct search. The literature reviews and case studies were used as the research methods. In case studies, Kent State University, University of Houston as the libraries, and Backstage Library Works as algorithm converting to hybrid records were surveyed. For creating the hybrid records, it was needed to differentiate hybrid records and born RDA records, to keep the data that appeared in 250 tag without spelling out edition data, to maintain 260 tag instead of converting 260 tag to 264 tag, and last to design mapping table for converting GMD to CMC. This study would suggest uniform display and search through hybridization of bibliographic records of foreign resources.

A hybrid information environment can be described as one where an appropriate range of heterogeneous information services is presented to the user in a consistent and integrated way via a single interface. The purpose of this study is to suggest a need of hybrid information services through understanding of the hybrid information environment and hybrid library. Additionally, this study deal with basic concepts of design for a hybrid information service model and address a number of hybrid library projects based on these concepts, such as Agora, BUILDER, HealdLine, HyLife, and MALIBU. Finally, this study survey generic a model of hybrid library and suggest basic principles for building of hybrid information service model, such as integration, seamlessness, authentication, interconnectivity, and personalization of information seeking process environment.
