The current paper reviews the main characteristics and the operating principles of major fuel atomizers used for gas turbine combustors, including various empirical SMD equations for each atomizers. We have summarized various methodologies for evaluation of the combustion efficiency and for combustor sizing from the selected SMD data. It is found that the combustor sizing as well as the combustion efficiency are totally dependent upon the SMD calculation results, which means that special cares should be taken in choosing the SMD empirical equations.

Human puberty is a complex, coordinated biological process with multiple levels of regulations. The timing of puberty varies greatly in children and is influenced by both environmental and genetic factors. The key genes of pubertal onset, $KISS1$, $GPR54$, $GNRH1$ and $GNRHR$, may be major causal factors underlying gonadotropin-releasing hormone-dependent precocious puberty (GDPP). Two gain-of-function mutations in $KISS1$ and $GPR54$ have been identified recently as genetic causes of GDPP. $GNRH1$ and $GNRHR$ are also gene candidates for GDPP; however no mutations have been identified in these genes. Presently potential genetic causes like $LIN28B$ continues to appear; many areas of research await exploration in this context. In this review, I focus primarily on the genetic causes of GDPP.

The silicon nitride films for gate dielectric were deposited by catalytic chemical vapor deposition at low temperature (${\leq}200^{\circ}C$). The mixture of $SiH_4$, $NH_3$ and $H_2$ was used as source gases. The current-voltage (I-V) and the capacitance-voltage (C-V) characteristics of the films were measured. The breakdown voltage and the flat band voltage shift of samples were improved by increase of the $NH_3$ contents and $H_2$ dilution ratio. The defect states were analyzed by photoluminescence (PL) spectra. As the defect states decreased, the breakdown voltage and the flat band voltage shift increased.

Various control algorithms are available to suppress the vibration of a system subjected to disturbances. LQ algorithm is simple and easy to implement the hardwares, but it lacks robustness for uncertainties and often causes difficulty in determining the weighting matrices. This study focuses on the effectiveness ILQ(Inverse Linear Quadratic optimal control) algorithm as the alternative to LQ applied to control the vibration of a building under the seismic excitation. The building is of moment resisting steel frames and assumed to behave within the elastic range. The brief overview of LQ and ILQ algorithms is introduced, and the displacement responses of the structure using ILQ algorithm are compared with those obtained from LQ control. The magnitude of control forces are also determined and compared for both LQ and ILQ algorithm.

MRA의 대전제는 모든 해당 인증기관들이 적절한 방법으로 똑같은 능력 및 업무를 보유하는 서명자들 간에 완전한 신뢰성이라고 볼 때, 국내연구소에서는 측정표준에 관한 국제적인 신뢰성을 바탕으로 계속적으로 국내연구소에 맞는 측정표준을 개발함으로, 관련국과의 MRA를 채결 및 주관함으로 해외 기관에 시험/인증을 위해 보내지는 제품들을 국내 인증으로 대체시킴으로 기업에게는 시간과 비용을 절약하게 하고, 국내연구소에게는 관련국가 간의 신뢰도 및 위상 그리고 수익을 창출을 가져올 수 있다. 그래서 논문에서는 국내 연구 기관들이 MRA의 체결에 대비하여 어떠한 전략을 수립하고 준비하여야 하는지에 대해 연구하였다.

An analytical applicability of the fluorescence detection with an optical multichannel analyzer to organic dyes was studied in this work. Continuous acquisition of spectra was possible with the use of a microcomputer. The maximum acquisition rate of a spetrum with 70-point average was about 3 seconds. Floppy discs were used to store data for later use in processing. Laser induced fluorescence detector in High Performance Liquid Chromatography was chosen for an application. Fluorescein below $10^{-15}g$ was detected satisfactorily using this system. With the help of microcomputer, three dimensional chromatograms of time-wavelength-intensity were obtained.

Bee venom (BY) has been utilized to relieve pain and to treat inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, the molecular mechanism by which BV-induced anti-arthritis effect has been not reported yet. Therefore, in the present study we investigated anti-inflammatory effect of BV in a murine marcrophage cell line Raw 264.7 cell and synoviocyte obtained from RA patients. The present data showed that BV has a preventive effect on lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and sodium nitroprusside (SNP) induced induction of COX-2, cPLA2 and iNOS. (omitted)

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) play an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis by extracellular matrix degradation. To analyze the effect of DA-125, a anthracyclin derivative, on the invasion or metastasis of cancer cells the expression of matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) was investigated in human fibrosarcoma HTl080 cells by RT-PCR or gelatin zymographic methods. As result, DA-125 suppressed the expression of MMP-2 and 9 as well as tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) TIMP-2 and MT1-MMP with a time- and dose-dependent manner. Inaddition, DA-125 inhibited cancer cell migration and colony formation, and also exhibited the inhibitory activities of invasion and motility with a matrigel and type I collagen assay. (omitted)
