This study presents an analysis of the human body channel as an electric signal path using body impulse response (BIR). The human body communications (HBC) has recently emerged as an effective signal transmission method to create wireless body area networks (WBAN). We provide body channel characteristics based on measured BIR in a proper experimental environment for the HBC using capacitive coupling with a customized channel sounding device, which can be applied as a guideline for the HBC system design. The frequency response of the BIR, extracted by a customized signal processing for the measure signals, shows the channel path loss (CPS) between 0 MHz and 100 MHz with an average CPS of approximately 46.8 dB. In addition, the relative noise power distributions can provide estimations on the signal to noise ratio at the HBC receiver in terms of capacitor and resistor values in the measured frequency band and the frequency band lower than 3 MHz considering the baseband signal detection.

This paper presents the design and implementation of the small size receiver to put a passive microwave sensor for human body detection to practical use. The requirements and specifications of the sensor receiver are drawn using the experimental data of human body detection by the existing sensor operated at 5.1 GHz. The small size sensor receiver to satisfy the drawn specifications is designed and implemented. The effectiveness of the fabricated sensor with small size receiver on human body detection is demonstrated experimentally in laboratory. The results show the sensor can detect human body to within 4 m distance from the antenna. The size and power consumption of the small size receiver are decreased to 60 % and 40 % compared to those of the existing receiver, respectively.
This paper presents a transmission method for improving human body communications in terms of spectral efficiency, and the performances of bit-error-rate (BER) and frame synchronization, with a highly simplified structure. Compared to the conventional frequency selective digital transmission supporting IEEE standard 802.15.6 for wireless body area networks, the proposed scheme improves the spectral efficiency from 0.25 bps/Hz to 1 bps/Hz based on the 3-dB bandwidth of the transmit spectral mask, and the signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) by 0.51 dB at a BER of $10^{-6}$ with an 87.5% reduction in the detection complexity of the length of the Hamming distance computation. The proposed preamble structure using its customized detection algorithm achieves perfect frame synchronization at the SNR of a BER of $10^{-6}$ by applying the proposed pre-processing to compensate for the distortions on the preamble signals due to the band-limit effects by transmit and receive filters.

Recently, according to the increase of using the microwave equipments, the interests in effects on human body have been also increased. For example, there have been many researches on making the standard the specific absorbing ratio (SAR) caused by mobile phones. However, it is needed to study on the induced current on human body caused by HF(Hight Frequency) band which can deeply penetrate the human body. Especially, since the RFID systems are applied to the transportation card and the library, it is hooded to research on the effect on human body exposed to the radiated power from the RFID system. In this paper, we designed a cylindrical monopole antenna model of human body exposed to 13.56 MHz RFID system, which can model the induced current on human body. To verify the proposed equivalent antenna model, we compared the induced currents between human body and the equivalent antenna model.

Intra-Body Communication (IBC) is a communication method using the human body as a communication medium. The fact that our human body consists of water and electrolyte allow such communication method could work and have strength in low-power. However, because the IBC directly affects to human body by using it as a medium, there was a lack of research in communication protocols of each communication layer. In this paper, we suggests MAC parameters which affects the performance of communication in human body channel, and propose new MAC protocol. Our results shows that our MAC is suitable for supporting high data rate applications with comparable radio duty cycle performance.
This paper presents a transceiver module for human body communications whereby a spread signal with a group of 64 Walsh codes is directly transferred through a human body at a chip rate of 32 Mcps. Frequency selective digital transmission moves the signal spectrum over 5 MHz without continuous frequency modulation and increases the immunity to induced interference by the processing gain. A simple receiver structure with no additional analog circuitry for the transmitter has been developed and has a sensitivity of 250 ${\mu}V_{pp}$. The high sensitivity of the receiver makes it possible to communicate between mobile devices using a human body as the transmission medium. It enables half-duplex communication of 2 Mbps within an operating range of up to 170 cm between the ultra-mobile PCs held between fingertips of each hand with a packet error rate of lower than $10^{-6}$. The transceiver module consumes 59 mA with a 3.3 V power supply.

In this paper, a low-profile dipole array antenna with monopole-like radiation for on-body communications is proposed. The proposed antenna, operating in the industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band, is designed with consideration of the human body effect. By placing eight planar dipole antenna elements symmetrically around the z-axis, the proposed antenna achieves monopole-like radiation characteristics with a low profile. The antenna has overall dimensions of $0.44{\lambda}_0{\times}0.44{\lambda}_0{\times}0.013{\lambda}_0$ at 2.45 GHz in the ISM 2.45 GHz band (2.4-2.485 GHz) and a 10-dB return loss bandwidth of 4.9% ranging from 2.4 to 2.52 GHz.
In this paper, we propose and simulate an efficient interference cancellation scheme with an optimal ordering successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm for ultra wideband (UWB)/multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems in a wireless body area network (WBAN). When there are several wireless communication devices on a human body, multiple access interference (MAI) usually occurs. To mitigate the effect of MAI and achieve additional diversity gain, we utilize SIC with an optimal ordering algorithm. A zero correlation duration (ZCD) code with robust MAI capability is employed as a spread code for UWB systems in a multi-device WBAN environment. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated in terms of the bit error rate (BER). Simulation results confirm that the BER performance can be improved significantly if the proposed interference cancellation scheme and the ZCD code are jointly employed.

This research focuses its study on the expressions of the visual images of the fashion illustration as a part of visual art and utilizes it to formulate the theoretical basis. Main findings of our research are as follows: The structure of communications in the fashion illustration is based on the four elements. They are the expression of the texture, drawings, composition, and the human body and dress. The characteristics in expression of texture level in fashion illustration can be the expression of creative texture in pattern or crease, and also can be expressed as various collage and photomontage by computer graphics. Secondly, the analysis on the characteristics of the drawings show that the drawing skills are imagination and sequential drawings. Thirdly, the characteristics of composition method are mainly shown as the application of plane composition which was previously used in avant-garde arts. Fourthly, most of the human body in the fashion illustrations are shown as the results of simplification, exaggeration and deformation in human body and also expressed or analyzed by the method of the body modification. Based on the above findings of this research we conclude that the way of expression in the fashion illustration is very similar in its composition as in visual art. However, they also show differences between the two in expression method or the method for the image development in specific expressions.

In this paper, we propose a ZCD (Zero Correlation Duration) code based Ultra Wide Band(UWB) MODEM(modulation and demodulation) technique for WBAN as a hunman body wireless communication operating in WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) environment. We certified ZCD code based UWB schemes are available for hunman body wireless communications by various simulation and performance analysis using WBAN transmission channels. Furthermore, we suggested some possibility of RFIC implementation related to human body based UWB communication module by presenting some related examples.
