언이기반의 인지시스템을 위한 시공간적 기초화 (Spatiotemporal Grounding for a Language Based Cognitive System)

  • For daily life interaction with human, robots need the capability of encoding and storing cognitive information and retrieving it contextually. In this paper, spatiotemporal grounding of cognitive information for a language based cognitive system is presented. The cognitive information of the event occurred at a robot is described with a sentence, stored in a memory, and retrieved contextually. Each sentence is parsed, discriminated with the functional type of it, and analyzed with argument structure for connecting to cognitive information. With the proposed grounding, the cognitive information is encoded to sentence form and stored in sentence memory with object descriptor. Sentences are retrieved for answering questions of human by searching temporal information from the sentence memory and doing spatial reasoning in schematic imagery. An experiment shows the feasibility and efficiency of the spatiotemporal grounding for advanced service robot.

효과적 가정관리 조건, 자원유용성 및 의사소통에 따른 가정관리자 유형 연구 (A Study on Types of Home Managers Based on the Conditions for Effective Home Management, Resourcefulness and Communication)

  • The primary purpose of this study was to analyze the types of home managers in association with effects of resourcefulness, communication and the conditions for effective home management' proposed by Shape and Winter(1991). A survey was conducted by subjects of 300 wives in Kwangju city. The statistical data were obtained by cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's test and chi-square test. Manager types based on the four conditions, resourcefulness and communication were classified into four clusters. Educational background, job status, family types, family life cycle and age difference between the oldest and the youngest child of the subjects were different from manager types. In conclusion, this study identified the four conditions of performance-condition dichotomy, timing, high level and middle range, resourcefulness, and communications in order to develop managerial capability.   • 현재 IT서비스 업체에서 새로운 성장동력으로 떠오르고 있는 분야가 융복합사업(IT+IT, IT+장비, IT+장비+시공)이라고 불리우는 컨버전스 프로젝트이다. 기존의 IT분야의 프로젝트와는 전혀 다른 특성을 갖고 있는 컨버전스 프로젝트에 대한 IT서비스 업체의 준비는 아직 미흡한 것이 현실이다. LG CNS에서는 이런 현실에서 컨버전스 프로젝트의 특성에 맞추어 기존 프로젝트 관리자(Project Manager)의 역할을 재정의하고 이를 현장에 적용시키기 위해 그동안의 컨버전스 프로젝트를 수행하면서 얻은 이슈에 HPT(Human Performance Technology; 수행공학)를 적용하여 조직적인 차원에서 프로젝트 관리자의 육성 로드맵을 만들고 이를 확산시키는 활동을 진행하고 있다. 이에 본 발표에서는 HPT측면에서 컨버전스 프로젝트 이행역량을 강화하기 위한 사례를 소개하고자 한다.

지능형 서비스 로봇을 위한 문맥독립 화자인식 시스템 (Context-Independent Speaker Recognition in URC Environment)

  • This paper presents a speaker recognition system intended for use in human-robot interaction. The proposed speaker recognition system can achieve significantly high performance in the Ubiquitous Robot Companion (URC) environment. The URC concept is a scenario in which a robot is connected to a server through a broadband connection allowing functions to be performed on the server side, thereby minimizing the stand-alone function significantly and reducing the robot client cost. Instead of giving a robot (client) on-board cognitive capabilities, the sensing and processing work are outsourced to a central computer (server) connected to the high-speed Internet, with only the moving capability provided by the robot. Our aim is to enhance human-robot interaction by increasing the performance of speaker recognition with multiple microphones on the robot side in adverse distant-talking environments. Our speaker recognizer provides the URC project with a basic interface for human-robot interaction.

  • Human power is not dependent on other energy sources, but rather is a source of power for ourselves. Human power, the cleanest energy in the world, can be our future. Therefore, we should be interested in sustainable alternative energy. This paper solves the uneven power generation by utilizing the energy storage capability of the flywheel. Therefore, it improved the efficiency by 5% compared to the existing generation method. DC generators produce power at variable speed operation. The constant voltage was generated from the DC-DC converter to the duty ratio control. Therefore, the charging efficiency is improved by 5% by the constant voltage charging of the battery. And it can suppress the decrease of the output due to the circulation current due to the deviation of the output voltage in parallel operation of the pedal generator.

  • This study introduces a deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based methodology for optimizing apartment space arrangements, addressing the limitations of human capability in evaluating all potential spatial configurations. Leveraging computational power, the methodology facilitates the autonomous exploration and evaluation of innovative layout options, considering architectural principles, legal standards, and client re-quirements. Through comprehensive simulation tests across various apartment types, the research demonstrates the DRL approach's effec-tiveness in generating efficient spatial arrangements that align with current design trends and meet predefined performance objectives. The comparative analysis of AI-generated layouts with those designed by professionals validates the methodology's applicability and potential in enhancing architectural design practices by offering novel, optimized spatial configuration solutions.

  • 퍼지 논리의 추론과정에서 일부의 정보가 무시되어 적절하지 못한 추론 결과를 초래 할 수 있다. 한편 신경망은 패턴 처리에는 적합하지만 인간의 지식을 모델링하기 위해서 필요한 논리적인 추론에는 부적합하다. 그러나 신경망의 변형인 신경 논리망을 이용하면 논리적인 추론이 가능하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 신경 논리망을 기반으로 하는 추론네트워크를 확장하여 퍼지 추론 네트워크를 구성한다. 그리고 기존의 추론 네트워크에서 사용되는 전파규칙을 보완하여 적용한다. 퍼지 추론 네트워크상에서 퍼지 규칙의 실행부에 해당하는 명제의 믿음 값을 결정하기 위해서는 추론하고자 하는 명제에 연결된 노드들을 탐색해야 한다.

  • The impediment in enhancing the ship safety and combating vessel-source marine pollution depends on the combination of the immediate and mediate factors. The former is mainly caused by human errors and failure in compliance with the international convention standards in operation of compliance with the international convention standards in operation of vessel. The latter by the attitudes and activities of some of the flay states taking little responsibilities with appropriate seriousness in policing their fleets due to the lack of implementing capability of adminstrations. So long as there exists a large size of variation in implementing capability of administration between flag states a globally remarked progress cannot expect to be made in assuring the ship safety and preventing the vessel-source pollution Therefore a new regulatory regime is suggested to be adopted by IMO to maintain high standard flag state adminstrations by recommending standard paradigm to member states so that the development of a implementing culture is encouraged and supported.

  • The docking and recharging system for a mobile robot must guarantee the ability of the mobile robot to perform its tasks continuously without human intervention. In this paper, two docking mechanisms are proposed with localization error-compensation capability for the auto recharging system. Friction forces or magnetic forces are used between the docking parts of the docking module and those of the docking station. In addition, an auto recharging system is developed to control the power. Since the system is modularized, it can easily be adapted to other robots.

Technological Characteristics by Industry and Innovation Strategy

  • This aim of the study is to show the necessity of implementing an industrial innovation strategy with consideration given to characteristics of the industrial technology. The relationship between industrial technological characteristics and innovation performance is analyzed by using an innovation survey as well as a human capital corporate panel (HCCP). The time-lag effect is also examined. Findings of the analysis show that high-tech industries have entered the post catch-up technology innovation stage in the mid-2000s, but low-tech industries still seem to stay in the catch-up stage. In terms of technology policy, the additional technology innovation support policy should focus on enhancing the innovation capability of the middle and low technology industries, since high technology industries are already developing their own innovation capability. It is necessary to strengthen capacity building through technical cooperation with technology consulting, rather than providing technical support through suppliers.
